Technical Support / Re: I want to learn.....
« on: March 05, 2015, 11:10:51 am »
Thank you very much. I have read Bitshares 101 (2x). That's what got me started down this rabbit hole. I will check out the youtube videos and help sections. Also so I need to catch up on bytemasters blog.
I'm excited to be traveling down this road with a helpful community.
Thanks again,

Me too. Everyone here has been absolutely wonderful. Welcome Slappy :)

I shifted a sum of money to my BTS id this morning (kencode). Shapeshift say it went thru, yet it still does not show in my transactions or my balance.

Is that because I live in Germany and the Bitshares magician lives in California or something and he just hasn't woken up yet?

What are the bell times at Bitshares anyway?

I dont see why not we already have a concept of margin... We can use bts as the backbone for margin and allow options 100:1 i think its just new transaction types and building it i to the trading engine

ok, so that feature is not built yet. do we need to somehow put this up for a vote with the Delegates, or get more people hired to build it?
Please submit that request, however that works here in the BTS world, thank you! :)

Right now with all the pumps and dumps and volatility, I'm just playin it safe.

Go wide.

If I have an extra 100 euros, I just spread it across btc, ltc, drk, nmc and bts.
I don't have any doge cuz i hate the name lol :)

Taking any profits made just gets spread across the 5 accounts again. I would get doge too cuz of all the media hype for it but i just can't get past the dumb name, duh doge. duh damn dumb doosh doge

HFT = rigged.
JPM and Goldman sit right on the backbone (tons of infrastructure diagrams on this), trade each other up on both sides, create the false volume and wipe out the last of the suckers that led up through 2007.

Anyway, back to my original point..
Can the Bitshares client facilitate this level of trading/charting/predictions yet, and if not, is it in the works, by whom, expected release, etc?

Technical Analysis in a rigged market is useless (Wall Street).

Now, with Bitshares, I see opportunity to use real Technical Analysis to hedge, speculate and make money whether cryptos are going up, or down, AND not have to worry so much about my Analysis being worthless (since they can HFT the market any which way they want grrrrr).

The wiki is lacking this info (it still says Bitshares X and PTS too) and appears out of date: http://wiki.bitshares.org

Anyway...

I thought the same thing +5%
(but Brian is long gone)

Why did Brian Page leave?

Bitshares' brand is everything.

We are trying to promote Bitshares at a Wall Street level; start grabbing some of that $700 Trillion.

No more chest hair, please. ;)
How about a high-quality, long-sleeved white collared shirt with an embroidered Bitshares logo?

Something like this?
http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thing?.out=jpg&size=l&tid=127689952
That shirt has the gold buttons that match the gold in the word "bit" on the cover of your book too.

I'm sure we as a community here could have a Bitshares Crowdfunding to buy you 4 or 5 of them, no problem. Dan and Brian too?
Maybe even up your delegate pay a bit to keep them pressed?

Bitshares primary colors (white, the light blues of the logo, and a dash of that gold color) and proper branding will create the right kind of awareness.
Thoughts??

General Discussion / Re: Bitshares' DPoS is being attacked on Cointelegraph
« on: February 28, 2015, 08:59:52 pm »
Hi kenCode,
Article is about SuperNet which is part of NXT as far as I know.
In comment section you mentioned DPOS which is NXT main competitor so as expected NXT guys didn't appreciate it  :)
It"s just another day in crypto world

Yeah, I can't see why people are so pro-Nxt and NuBits still after all ponzi and centrist posts I've read around the net.
I didn't know SuperNet was part of Nxt tho, I'll have to look into that so I can add it to my rebuttal book.
Oh well, not my losses anyway.
Thanx @aloha :)

This will be our biggest one yet! Who's coming?
Newbs to bitcoin of course so we can do some trading, an Electrical Engineer, Bitshares guru, a Doctor (in case you drink too much), the BitxATM guru and an IoT crypto junkie like myself :)

General Discussion / Re: Default Vote for Core Devs???
« on: February 28, 2015, 05:48:22 pm »
just keep in mind how difficult it is to find AND KEEP core developers.
just keep in mind how difficult it is to find confidence AND KEEP believing in DPOS for the market, keep in mind how easy shareholders walk away and never come back again.
It's the holder to decide instead of employees, right? When we discussed what a DAC means, and Why is Bitshares better than Bitcoin, we said so.
Sorry to say that but we don't need a king, and we don't want to play the game of throne either. If somebody can decide who's on that list, what we need dpos for?
Leave all this to the system itself please.

@callmeluc you're right on target. Just poll the shareholders once a month or somethin. The code will decide which devs have contributed the most and those are the top (say, 10?) Devs who will appear in the poll that month. Shareholders can, not must, pick their dev choice of the month (in the client software). How do we track who's contributed the most.. i don't know, but i do know that we don't need a king to decide who is up for votes. We already have a system like that.

General Discussion / Re: The BitShares Online Web Wallet is ready...

What are the thoughts/recommendations/advise when using the webwallet on a mobile devise?
I have looked at this...We have a long ways to go, it did not do well on my phone.  I hope to get some help on layout fixes and I'll optimize it to make it perform.  I'm only thinking about security right now.

Security security security, exactly. Thank you @jcalfee1 :)

Change the name to Exchange instead of Wallet.
Integrate bitcoin and altcoins gateway
Then let's promote to crypto world as a web decentralize exchange, instead of just web wallet.
Just my +5%
