General Discussion / Re: correction incoming?
« on: August 22, 2014, 05:35:37 pm »
Broker->Bank->Coinbase->Exchange takes days. I probably can't buy any more in quantity until Wednesday. I suspect many are in the same boat.  We'll probably see waves of volume.

I think many of us have some BTC/altcoins in their wallets so it's not necessarily that long to buy some BTSX.

General Discussion / Re: AGS Funds to be used to buy BTSX

Great decision!

I think AGS funds will do best as a pacemaker at the mountainous beginning.
In the long run it will profit everyone.

Chineese folks have between 3/4 and 4/5 of entire daily volume, so you can expect small price hiccups during their night time.

Anyone else seeing this message? Is this bad?  :-[

I have filed a bug report on this. https://github.com/BitShares/bitshares_toolkit/issues/669

Probably harmless... let me know if you are able to sync

Turns out I am producing blocks. Which I assume means I'm in sync? Message doesn't go away though.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Try this commands (I'm not sure if running this is healthy while producing blocks):

Code: [Select]
wallet_set_transaction_scanning true
wallet_rescan_blockchain

Yes, I was seeing this message too - it's probably related to what BM has said recently.
Don't worry - it will go away, once you sync just a little of blockchain.

I've updated Win client to 0.4.5 and it crashed, when trying to send crash report, following error occured:

Seems like, when I restarted client, error message was sent with no error.

This crash happened when I run client for the first time after setup is finished (and Run checkbox is selected).

I think that when I clicked Finish/Close on last setup window, the setup process was not finished.

Mr.scroodge is on 0.4.4 now.

3 is probably the best option, but why creating new tokens right away, when there are some unused "blockchain_accumulated_fees"?

If those fees are enough then no additional BTSX are created, so BTSX value stays untouched.
If there is more than fees can provide then option 3, and delegates work for free, but BTSX value is more stable.

I mean delegates are probably willing to sacrifice a days cut if this means everything the'yve earned so far doesn't loose value.

In case of new BTSX being created right away, BTSX price may fall faster, and value of everyone's (not only delegate's) stack might decrease compared to that before new BTSX creation.

KeyID / Re: Alternate Allocation Proposal
« on: August 05, 2014, 02:50:38 pm »
From delegates perspective this is a profitable solution, but initial BTSX delegates were (and still are) selected by a few strong hands.

If there are another 5% given to developers and AGS/PTS holders are given less than ~20% each coin (BTSX is 50/50 AGS/PTS) then:
- developers will initially have between 10 - 50+% of all shares (5% + BTC/PTS from AGS donations and some privately owned MYSTERY stake they can buy cheap before resolving the mystery :D, and  this all x2 since remaining 50% will be produced in following years);
- it will be even harder for small investors to elect their delegate of choice without help of a developer/ another token-whale;
-  new users will probably drive down token's value - it's free money, but it's fine since more people will get interested;

So it will start even more centralized in comparison to those systems we are trying to replace.

This proposal could stand like that (or better with some changes) but with some additional steps:
- 101 is not a fixed number of total delegates, it is a minimum # of delegates required;
- # of delegates can grow and shrink after each round, between 101 to, say up to 8640 (1 block / delegate / day);
- 0.01% (1% of 1%) of all shares is the minimum approval threshold to get a delegate on a waiting list;
- after round is finished, network recalibrates itself like below:
{
avg delegate participation during las round: 90%;
number of active delegates: 101;
number of delegates with a warning: 17;
number of delegates to lay off (second warning): 11;
minimum threshold of future round avg. delegate participation: 80%;
number of new delegates to introduce: 20 (if all fail, avg del part will be 80%) - select delegates from waiting list (randomly or randomly with weighted probability by approval votes );
};
Delegates that have a warning can clear their warning after producing in from 3 to x consecutive rounds;
Delegates that were fired can get on a waiting list after placing a fee payment;
Registered users can get on a waiting list by placing a fee.

I recompiled with latest release 0.2.2 and it seems to  be working ok for now. Will be watching.

You should recompile again, since now 0.2.3 is latest containing some probable forking bug-fixes.

In my case I had no trouble at all importing both bitcoin/protoshares wallet and private keys.
Neither had I any troubles with wallet_import_keyhotee command. All worked smooth.

It was performed on Ubuntu 12.04 and 14.04.

I did so.

My delegate is now not just scroodge, it's mr.scroodge  8)

Please do not hesitate to vote for him.

There are some delegates not producing any blocks at right now.
Can you, Bytemaster, swap scroodge for one of them, I worked quite well during dry runs?

I will try to get some polish folks in, with incentives from delegate's paycheck.

General Discussion / Re: Delegate vote swaps
« on: July 22, 2014, 11:34:24 am »
From this list all but slavix and scroodge have not get into the top 101 list.

From those who were voted in ninja and betax haven't produced a single block.

Can you, BTSX whale, reconsider your support and vote for scroodge, who has successfully participated in Dry Runs?

Yes, I have my doubts about starting this too early, but hopefully I'm wrong. :)

I promise, that if I make some money out of this (more than to cover bills to run a delegate),
I'll translate and publish on a webpage some articles in order to attract polish investors.

And I will do some give-away actions for the readers to try it out themselves.
