General Discussion / Re: Consortium Wallet Idea

Freebie (might) consider developing some of this under the right circumstances.
Some of the IP we hold works along the lines of what's mentioned in the thread.
I am not in a state to reveal yet.. but *cough cough*  - possible product release?

that machine is a little overkill .. it could house 5 witness nodes :)

That's a fraction of a fraction of our infrastructure :)
Is there a financial incentive for hosting the nodes?
Documentation ?

We had offered an i7, 32gb ram , 10 tb bandwidth, 100 mbps server to a project at the nxt community for approx 450 USD (1/3rd of retail rate) - but they didn't need it.
If needed, am open to offering it for this. We can also have more servers deployed from our infrastructure at a highly subsidized rate.

We just went live on Twitter and Instagram. Please follow and share :)
I'll work on creating a following over the weekend.

Some Technical Analysis:

Crude has come back within the long-term range from 10 to 40.  Will it stay there is the question, especially with all the debasement of fiat currencies.

S&P 500 long-term uptrend still intact

Death Cross with bullish divergence and weekly support.  Will we see some range-bound consolidation here?  Iffy

Interesting to see your technical analysis.
Personal offer : Would you be interested in collaborating on trading blue chip stocks ?
My personal forte has been fundamental analysis and am picking up on technical's.
I keep a personal fund of 100 USd, leverage at around 15 and make about 10-20 usd a day.
Would love to partner up and share info/thoughts.

Had a very warm welcome both within bitcointalk (unusual?) and gaming communities.
I'll put up the social media pages for the project today - and have an article up on medium.
Sincere gratititude to everyone that's come out and spoke for us at BTC Talk - you guys are the best :)

Just some stats
We had 500 bets worth close to (on-site token) 6600 USD placed and the house winning has been highly profitable so far.
I am in talks with a number of marketing avenues and will soon be working with them to get the hype up over the weekend.

Regards

Edit : very tempted to jump right into the fee discussion, but I owe it to the company, team and the investors to work on promotions so bam.. following it closely none the less!

Its a record for every coin.
Chinese individuals are on a "buy-random-coin" spree

I sure do hope they have their boots ready to kick themselves extra hard :)
We are slowly rolling out to an early alpha over the week. You will witness the site evolve into a transactional system over the next 4-7 days.

Regards

I recommend creating some simple videos to show-off the project as it starts moving to a transactional system. Something as simple as Camtastia would be awesome.  With this using BitShares, the community should be excited about the progress.

Yes, it is in the works. We'll have a promo video soon.

Are you exclusively using Bitshares?  Can you direct me to your website?

Given our past (sour) experience with another coin community, we no longer pledge allegiance to any coin particularly. It is just business at the end of the day.
As of now BTS integration serves our purpose (quick tx's) and due to the same it has been implemented. We will also have Bitcoins and in-game items.

In regards to a UIA - we had a very private fund raiser, with private investors whose names won't be revealed.
There will be a token issuance for them. Other than them, we are not looking to raise funds.
I'll be approaching institutional investors in 3-6 months from now to close a deal in regards to gamebet and its entire ecosystem.
That said, in the event that we do find large -scale interest in what we're building, we might open to the markets here.
Personally, (and the team) is apprehensive of public large scale fund raisers (in the tune of 500k+) due to a large number of reasons.
Under the right circumstances, we might consider it.

For now, my key focus is getting the product out asap, marketing it to a point where we do have a large user base and hitting profitability.
Fund raising is something that will keep happening procedurally in the backgrounds as we build our relationships with our investors and attain metrics over time.

Does using bitshares offer you guys any advantage over other coins?  It's great that you are incorporating BTS, but I'm still trying to find a business that uses bitshares as it's backbone.  So far that search has been futile...

Using solely bitshares is a dangerous, risky move. It means our risk exposure is very high in regards to the fluctuations of the value of the currency.
Assuming we are moving 100,000 USD  day - that will drastically affect BTS prices. As of now we are not looking to take that kind of risk with any coin.
By taking the basket approach (bts, btc, items etc)- we are hedging that risk.

Can businesses be built only on BTS ?
Yes. Definitely.

Will I do it ?
Absolutely.   As we move to profitability and further diversify.

Freebie / [Pre-Ann] Gamebet.gg Alpha Test [Pre-Ann]
« on: January 26, 2016, 07:58:49 am »
It is my pleasure to announce the alpha testing phase of Gamebet.gg, a revolutionary betting platform that combines E-sports, crypto-currencies (Bitcoin/Bitshares), and Steam in-game items.  The person with the maximum number  of game-bet Gold stands win $100 for placing the most accurate bet.

What is Gamebet.gg ?

  • An E-sports betting platform
  • Bitcoin, Bitshares and Steam in-game items are the depositing vehicles
  • The platform is open to users from around the world
  • Match winnings are distributed at the end of the match, no hold ups
  • Bets may be placed on professional CS:GO, League of Legends, Dota and hearthstone matches
  • Users will be able to view live streams of the matches listed on gamebet.gg

What is our Early Alpha Test ?
  • Users will be given a total of 660 Gamebet Gold (the platform currency)
  • The testing phase will last for one week
  • Users may place bets on matches and use their winnings to bet on additional matches
  • The individual with the most Gamebet Gold at the end of the testing phase will win 100 dollars worth of Bitcoin

Further information :
http://gamebet.gg/Home/Faq
http://gamebet.gg/Home/Contest

The Gamebet.gg platform consists of two types of currencies, Gamebet Gold (GG) and Steam Silver (SS). Gamebet Gold is backed by user deposits of Bitcoin made to the website and can be instantly withdrawn. Steam Silver is back by user deposits of Steam items.  These two platform currencies are treated as separate currencies and have separate betting pools on each match.  Steam Silver allows users betting with Steam items to receive the exact amount of winnings they are entitled to rather than having to round down due in game item to item betting as found on the CSGO Lounge platform.  Steam Silver may then be used to purchase items off the Gamebet item marketplace which is made up of the items deposited by users.

The alpha testing phase will be used to fine tune the system and ensure the most efficient processes.  We are looking for users interested in testing out a new E-sports betting platform and providing us with helpful information on how to better serve our users when the system goes live.

sorry,it's my misunderstanding,
I thought you are developing a prediction market.

As of now, its an e-sports betting system (at gamebet.gg) - but given the fact that PM's work on binary outcomes(from what I read) and there can only be a WIN or LOSS on bets placed, it is highly possible to integrate the two. That said, depending on the stability, incentives and complexity of the PM here, we may or may not integrate it.

I just saw this great project today, @Xypher awesome
do you have the plan for the prediction market's backend?
I have thought something like this before, here is my way:
1. issue 16 smart assets: BET1, BET2, .... BET16, reserved by USD.(or CNY/TCNY, because lack of USD now)
2. the initial price is both 16CNY/BETX
3. after 1st round, there are 8 winers and 8 losers, change loser's price to 8CNY/BTS.
4. enable force settle.
5. after the period of force settle, start a new round, disable force settle, change all 16 asset's price to 8CNY/BETX

as a player, for example I bet BET1 win BET2, I should borrow BET2, and sell BET2 for BET1 at a price from 0.5~2.

the benifit for this is you can reuse these assets, everyone should ask for settle, because the price allways /2

I have test the whole steps in test chain, it's run perfectly.

I am heavily loaded with the marketing front for the next few weeks, but if you'd be open to sitting down with me for an hour and break this down, I'd be glad to see how it can be integrated into what's being built. As of now gamebet.gg is purely focused on gamers, but the way I see it, PM integration will give individuals even from the financial markets to see what's in it for them. I've been hunting documentation for a while. If there's any reading I coud do in regards to this, please do link me.
As of now - the PM market is not integrated, but it is surely a possibility. I'll take the matter up with kuro and hybridd too.
