General Discussion / Re: Kevin Harrington and St. Martin

I do not think Adam is the huge problem in the big picture too. I do also miss the times when his criticism carried a nonce of positivism. Unfortunately those times are gone. I hope, I am wrong, but I do not think any reversal is likely.

I also hope he is not paid to do what he is currently doing, but rather does it because he feels he is a part of a time that is quickly becoming irrelevant.  And is fighting against the progress, like a king during the French revolution. Or simply does it just because his highly insightful opinions are not followed blindly by Dan…

Great 2 post btw fuznuts +5

Adam is smoking and BM is honest to a fault,

everyday

Seriously 40% of BTSX ........

Adam out of curiosity why your fuding it is happening when the I3 team is not in town ? You almost always do that since forever...
There was a point in time when some of your threads where to the point and sometimes you did constructive criticism that was good.   Not sure if you realize but now you are far for being objective  anymore.  Can you tell,  with it this kind of baseless accusations , what are you trying to achieve ?  I may be wrong but it looks to me that you are trying to hurt I3 more then anything else.

See a much better way to ask the same questions actuality it is pretty easy  :

1. how much btsx holds I3 now?
2. what are the plans in the next 12 months for this holdings?
3. will the community have a say, what to do with the funds?

One more think, in life everybody could do whatever they want with their own money I3 employee or not !!!! Seriously you are way out of line !!!!

For one counterparty actually has trading functionality even if it is miserable. I suspect once BTSX has all the pieces in one place it will also be considered in ventures like that.

Bitshare it is clearly considered !!! Why you assume it is not ? I don't see that anywhere ?

to clarify, you'd still use PTS to get a stake in any upcoming non-BitShares X related DAC

Yes you would receive stake in future DAC based on btsx you have when the snapshot will be taken.
The snapshot on feb 28 was only for BTS X.Now  anything that will come in the Bitshares X family will be based btsx.

Collaborative fiction has been tried for some time now but  I think the blockchain could solve many of the problems that has plagued this form of writing. For instance who wrote what. Please see this : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collaborative_fiction

Like Clains suggested I could see this very well working for articles journal(collaborative journalism), photoshopping( collaborative art.)

I think this could work.

I'm not sure how you would monetize wikipedia articles and art though.

also, dammit, collaborative fiction was already a word?

I thought I coined it.
lol
I'm not sure either how how you would monetize wikipedia articles. For the rest you monetize the same way that you do it  now but for individual artists, writers etc., what is different though in your proposition is the collaborative part, and this is the part that your DAC will fit perfectly.  I see your DAC will work for any collaborative work, not just books. You just change some variable and you all set. I think the hard part it is how to quantify the contribution, to me this is the most difficult part.

Some people had similar ideas. I believe the general consensus was it is too aggressive and we should ask them thirst  :)  … my opinion is more close to yours btw.

Strike where there is weakness and partner where there is strength. You can ask them to adopt a new coin or you can tell them you have a gift for everyone in the Nxt community- it's about how you say things. That said, what I've found from the Nxt community is that it is serving as a sink for most of the experienced java developers in the Cryptocurrency space. I honestly don't think they will recover from the botched initial distribution, but it's not stopping the devs from having fun building a more mature codebase. A pity they can't be redirected to more useful projects.
Welcome back Charles. You will always be welcome in our community, we all appreciate you insight ...... (this is only my opinion but I hope every one here agree)

Nxt they have a really solid product, we'll see how everything pan out, although I agree that their initial distribution was not the most brilliant thing they did ...
Of course if Btsx it is gonna work how is suppose too, Nxt  gonna be in a lot a trouble sooner or later.

Most people come to BitShares via Bitcointalk. There are 6 threads that were created/bumped in the last few weeks. (Someone even tried putting a BitShares announcement in the main section but that was promptly removed.)

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=678645            (Bitshares AGS crowd funding - less than *4* days until close)

The countdown clock is running on the homepage and of course there's here -  http://www1.agsexplorer.com/

AGS has received over 5500 BTC and 400 000 PTS in donations and has been running over 190 days. So AGS has been probably both one of the most successful and longest running fund-raisers in crypto.

The forum also has over 5000 members, which is more than MSC, XCP & Ethereum's combined. (Though I would say Ethereum has probably been more successful with overall marketing esp. on places like Reddit.)

I agree marketing is weak but I have seen an improvement this last month. BitShares does have a steep learning curve & I agree that though not this year, going into 2015, AGS might take some criticism for being closed/illiquid.

Edit: I also think there have been threads started on other forums to let people know about BitShares & AGS donations, but I don't visit them so I wouldn't know.

Just to add to your list :
Facebook Bitshares likes 3310 vs Eteherum 2576.  There was no official Bitsahres Facebook page when Brian came on board so good job there Brian !!!

There are definitely improvements in the last month or so. Everything is moving in the right direction. This is  good.

General Discussion / Re: Initial price for a XTS

Anybody checked Bter and BTC38 recently? Even their IOUs in BTSX are trading with a market cap of $20-25 million. This sucker's going to debut much higher than some folks think.

The IOUs are the only way to get BTSX right now. The supply is very limited at the moment. Once actual BTSX floods the market it will go down, just like ANY other IPO that debuts on an exchange. Then it should resume its course higher, given no major setbacks. I think there will be opportunities to get in on the cheap once more after we go live.

I really hope so...

We'll see. I've been buying some small quantities at around 0.008BTC at BTC38, but if the price drops even further on launch I'll be ready to buy even more. If BM and the others can sort out the few remaining bugs, the current state of this project is miles ahead of most other "altcoins", which bodes well for the Bitshares ecosystem.

I won't be surprised it BTSX is in the nr. 2 spot on Coinmarketcap come Christmas.

There are going to be 4 billion bitshares available on the market all at once, and you're paying .008btc EACH?  That's what, $4.80 a piece, and would give a market cap of  $19,200,000,000 i.e. bigger than the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem including bitcoin.

Are you aware of how much you're likely overpaying?
Wow this is  just FUD Adam. You like that don't you ? Ohh that because you don't have the time to read the forum right..  now I remember. That is  a good excuse so you can say anything you like.

Are you blaming me for being confused, when this is pretty clearly confusing?  I've been following and supporting the project Since august of last year, and I don't even know how many tokens there are going to be.

Am I stupid, a bad actor, or is it confusing?

Confusing it is yes, you right about that. BTSX  in not out yet maybe that why. There are gonna be 2 billion  tokens last I know.
