After mtGox, NeoBee and bitcoin marketprice taking a dump I've run out of investment money I can spend without blinking quite a while ago, actually I've long since run out of funds to invest with loads of blinking as well,

How much did you give to Invictus in the form of Angelshares?  Would you have liked Invictus to have invested any of those funds in this?

Ok, I understand where you're coming from, you've got to eat. I wasn't aware of the issues with bounties, that seems to be something that needs to be addressed asap.

I mentioned the reason why I'm not able to invest in your project in my first reaction. I also have to admit that I wasn't aware of the position you and your project were in. I was under the impression that your project was still in the to be announced stage and that that was why there was no further information about your project.

Going forward I hope bitshares and bithaus can still have a fruitful cooperation in the future, in the mean time I wish you luck with your project.

This is really sad news. domsch was working with the community here for testing the Bithaus, and now this ??? I was't aware either that there was a funding problem ... Interested to know why this happened ..?    Why they NXT manged to get funding and Bitshare not ? Especially that domsch originally intended to work with us ?

Lukybit is on this forum from the beginning back in the time when the forum had a few members . His contributions were and are one of the most insightful around here. He's very passionate about 3I and there is no question in my mind he was not trying to to pump anything. You may disagree with his opinions but I will never question his intentions.

Wait, wait, wait,
hold your horses Dan…;” You can instantly send money anywhere in the world, hold deposits of gold, silver, etc.”
As far as I know you can hold ‘assets’ that will (hopefully) follow the price of gold…
Well bitGold will have the value let say of a ounce of gold. So what matters is, with my bitGold I could always buy a once of gold. So is the same Bitshares X hold deposits of gold, silver, etc. For sure he was not referring at holding actual physical gold  but at the end comes down the same ;)

BitShares AGS / Re: Please stop AGS Bid!
« on: April 21, 2014, 05:07:32 pm »
Invictus needs to not change the deal again.

Do you really believe that every suggestion a member makes will change invictus businesses plan ???

-5%   from me

I've said AGS were a bad move since before they were introduced.  Should have just set up a roadmap with goals and asked PTS holders to donate in support of specific projects and objectives.

I'm not sure what you're talking about re: members, I'm talking about the proposal of this thread which is to change how Angelshares are handled now almost halfway through the program.  Yes, I think if the initiative were enacted as described by the OP it would be changing the deal, that seems pretty obvious.

You still keep saying the AGS it was a bad idea. Let's review some facts.
I bought some PTS  beginning of December 2013 and at the time I paid about 20 $ or so(maybe more or less) from guys that did not give a flying shit about DAC or Bitshares. See those guys they bought them (or mined them for free) a 1$ and they where making 20 X more very nice right ?

I'm pretty sure you believed in Bitshares, and your are a visionary  but you bought your PTS at 1$. We, the believers that came just two short weeks too late, we had to pay 20x more then whatever you paid.

After buying PTS I decided to mine the PTS on Amazon it just did't felt right for me to give money to those scalpers on exchanges Then Bytemaster came up with this BRILLIANT idea called  AGS witch just change the status quo of mining. This was new innovative and vibrant new look at crowd-funding DONATION AND just give a chance to everybody(pts holders too) to take part on this dream. Why should I pay Amazon or those pumpers dumpers on exchanges, when I can just DONATE those friggin money directly to 3I to use it to build a stronger team to go on with the vision?  Ahhh but wait ...what about those PTS holders(I was one of them BTW)? Now all you Bill Gates fortune dreams are going away ?
Adam the only arguments that you ever brought against AGS it was : 3I should never change the deal.... That it!!! Well sorry but this is not enough. You propositions to give PTS to specific projects is very good but only for you, because you have a lot of PTS and only a few could have participated. How about the other that came in 2 months  late ?
I don't care about the PTS that i bought at 20$ or more, even though  it lost value ever since and  now I can have them at 4$. Why ? Because AGS give a better deal for everybody especially  long term. Even if I loose my money well at least the ideas that 3i brought will stay forever and this is priceless to me.
One think is is not clear to me, do you still believe in Bithsare IDEA or you just  like FUDing ? The AGS are here to stay get over it or just sell you PTS and move on !!!

No matter how you are tying to look at it, this is not good. There is something that's not working the way is intended  on the message that 3i is trying to get out there. This should be corrected as soon as possible.

General Discussion / Re: Chit funds DAC

I think this is really a great idea . It has all the characteristic of DAC, it is profitable for shareholders. For the subscriber it will be cheaper because  as DAC you don't need to charge 5% fee, it is completely transparent and scam free.

Please chime in and help keep this thread (which I did not start) up on Reddit. The Bitcoin mods may take it down, so the second link below shows the article it references...which is superb for Bitshares, one of the best and most stoked explanations I have seen.

While it is a positively written article for Bitshares, it's a terrible piece of work and the premise feels made up.
A terrible piece of work? I thought it was well-written and quite clear, something that's difficult to do when writing about new technology. And what premise felt made up to you?

Wrapping your mind around Bitshares is like taking the Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test.
The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test is a book by Tom Wolfe about Acid parties, not a real Test. Comparing Bitshares to an acid trip seems out of place.
wrapping your head around the bitshares concept is a complicated process that requires one to dispense with the traditional reality of things and reimagine the world in the context of innovation. when you go on an acid trip you dispense with reality and reimagine the world around you through the lens of your own creative faculties. an acid trip is a very interesting comparison to make

“In the dotcom era, there were all these ideas, all these companies, but none of them made any money,” Mr. Page says...
Ok. "None", are you sure?
virtually none of them were profitable. brian is articulating the main difference between bitcoin and bitshares, profitability. there is a lot of irrational exuberance in the crypto-equity space that is indicative of people misunderstanding key fundamentals, as is consistent with what occured during the dotcom era

“The algorithm says 50 percent of ticket sales go to one winner,” he says. “The other 50 percent goes as profit to shareholders. Immediately, that DAC would be profitable.
This is how a lottery works. Most lotteries have a more complicated algorithm where their is a tiered structure of winners. Nothing special.

i dont quite get your point. brian is explaining the simplest possible model for a profitable dac

Quote
“Look at Berkshire Hathaway and Warren Buffet,” he says. “Berkshire became a company that collects other companies, and now one share of Berkshire is worth $160,000.”
OK, this is just childish speculation.

this is actually a really good way to look at what bitshares is doing from a more traditional perspective. brian isnt saying the price of pts or xts is going to be comparable or exceed the share price of berkshire, he is simply demonstrating the invesment opportunity present in owning several profitable companies

General Discussion / Re: BitShares X Status Update

Nooo my point was what was announced before stays. It just distributes some to the post Feb 28 at a smaller rate as well. Or is 100% of BTS allocated with the feb 28 snapshot?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It is 100% allocated with Feb 28 snapshot. It is done can't be change now.  I think Stan and Bytemaster pretty much cover  why we have the delay. And for the estimates here is Stan answer :

Quote
Alas, we promised 2-weeks notice, so that means the snapshot had to happen 2 weeks before the earliest possible date.

The alternative we plan to use in the future is to wait until latest possible date (when testing is totally complete), and then wait two more weeks before we can launch.

This is also why we no longer release estimates or target dates.  We'd like to share our hopes and goals, but that has proven to be counterproductive.
.

So to me it is pretty clear, From now on no more estimates they will announce the lunch when they are 100% sure.

General Discussion / Re: DAC Country coins
« on: April 18, 2014, 06:37:07 pm »
The problem I see with your idea is that what are you trying to do is just another altcoin. I can't call this a DAC because I don't see how your coin will be profitable.
There's altcoins with county names that are coming up every day, non of them had any success so far, look at spaincoin, chinacoin, auroracoin, they all are dying a slow death and they all will end up in the same place, altcoin cemetery. The problem with this coins is that the only people that are interested are those that are trying to make a quick bucks. Once they make some money they are moving on to the next altcoin.
None of this coins gain any traction outside the altcoin community and here comes Bitshares X.  The beauty of Bitshare X is that it has the potential to bridge the world of virtual currency and real world money in a way that everybody will understand in about 5 seconds.
I can explain pretty easy to my grandmother what a bitUSD, for her is just  a dollar that she can use it on the web that it. Whomever use bitUSD does not need to know how it come in existence or what it does, because they know already what you can do with a dollar. Now try to explain to someone bitcoin...

So instead of doing just another altcoin. Why not do a Bitshares X with one of the assets being  bitDrachma ?

Please don't take that in the wrong way, this is meant to be constructive. I think your idea is noble and hope it is gonna work one way or another. Are you involved with Greececoin ? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=516955.0

Great news. We need it  this with all the FUD going on right now !!!

Make Bitshares mineable and create buying pressure, that is a brilliant idea. The only think missing is someone to make it happen. This will be probably one of the most profitable pool out there once Bitshare X is out. This is a big opportunity right there.
