BitShares AGS / Re: Most Accurate AGS Status Website so far...
« on: January 09, 2014, 12:57:53 pm »
http://www1.agsexplorer.com/  is caught up and working fine (even though there is an warning posted).

The check balance feature is working fine too.

If it is working fine that warning should be removed. If not some people will not donate thinking there are more BTC donated then what it shows.
It happened few days ago but in the opposite direction, a lot of donations because the BTC balance was't right( balance showed fewer fewer BTC.)

BitShares PTS / Re: Dump

It looks all the cryptocoins, including bitcoin, are in down trend, which I don't understand. The only bad new I can find is that the biggest e-biz platform in China--taobao.com just announced to ban all virtual currency trade, but does it affect so much?

Maybe this :

Hey everyone, I would like to make a proposal on how to reallocate my own time over the next two weeks.   On the one hand I would love to support the Keyhotee ID/Mail rollout personally, on the other hand for PTS and AGS holders it is very important that we get BTS to market ASAP.

My proposal is that I disappear into a hole and get the core of BTS implemented and come back in 2 weeks.  While I am gone I can leave the community in the hands of Dan Notestein who is heading up the team working on Keyhotee Mail and Keyhotee ID, Stan, and various others.   They will develop at the pace they can and attempt to respond to all of the support issues.  We are hiring additional staff to help.

Of course this may have some side effects and potential delays but I think it would be a better investment of my time in the short term.

Feedback appreciated.

+1

best thing to do !! We will survive 2 weeks :)

Keyhotee / Re: How many Founder IDs have been registered?
« on: December 26, 2013, 05:38:00 am »
We are in the process of auditing payments, but the number of people that submitted the form and were assigned a PTS or BTC address is about 650.

If everyone paid that is worth at least $100K for Invictus to develop Keyhotee.  If they can sell $100K worth of PTS without crashing the market.

They don't need to sell them, they should be paying bounties in PTS

Right, except not everybody wants to be paid in PTS for now.

This is good great job we need more of that out there.

The only thing I will argue is, you are saying " the scope and details of the project have been modified". I would say the details changed yes, but not the scope of the project.

The idea sound interesting but I'm not sure  how you could implemented it.

So following you proposition  it will look like that : you'll have 2 pts , 2 million angelshare, 1 million POC and 1 million for a hybrid Proof of Work Proof of Stake ?

Putting Bitshares in your signature on different forums and being credited

How can you prevent spamming and trolling ex: I put my bitshare signature and I spam every forum this could have the opposite effect for the DAC.

Same goes from marketing how will you control good marketing for bad marketing overdoing marketing  it?  When  money are involved cheating always occurs especially it is is a script doing the counting.

All depend on how Angelshare will be implemented.

Angelshare should be cheaper than PTS if they don't give you any share on the  DAC's and they only give you 1:1 on bitshares. And if AngelShare give you 1:1 in every3I DAC  then they should be priced same as PTS 1.0 or else nobody will buy them or if they are cheaper nobody will mine PTS 1.0  or buy PTS 1.0 anymore.

Not knowing what the bounties would be I'd like to say that I (probably) don't like the idea as I don't have much time to work for bounties... But I would always have a few minutes time to set up 10(0) miners.
Of course it's stupid to waste money into mining-heat. But at least if you're on of the "early birds" your (stupid) mining could bring you a lot more than you invest (as long as difficulty is low).
I don't see that kind of chance right now with Angelshares. (How) does the early bird profit for being faster than others?

True but you still have protoshare for mining you could buy Angelshare too, I thing we are still in the "early birds" stage right know.

Keeping PTS "1.0" as they are is necessary and good. Even if mining doesn't pay at current rates / difficulty, but no one knows where PTS will be in 2014.

As for Angelshares/coins I'm not sure how they could be evenly/fair divided. Angelshares without mining would mean already rich people will get even richer by being able to invest more BTC into Angelshares right from the beginning. By mining poorer people would be able to get a good amount of "coins" while difficulty is low. - If Invictus wants to avoid mining they should think about mechanisms to give poorer investors a chance of getting lots of Angel"coins" by being fast/early/whatever. Just being rich shouldn't give anybody such a huge advantage at the start of a new "investment round".

Well yes with Angelshares people that are rich will get even richer, but at least the founds coming from them  we'll be used in developing new DAC's and everybody that it is putting money in, they will want that all Invictus project succeed as opposed with protoshared where most of the powerful once(bot nets, supercomputer)they don't give a shit about the long term or the project.

Rich people will get even richer it is happening right now with protoshare rich people could buy a lot more protoshares so they are getting richer without much benefit for the Invictus community.
Not sure there is a way to geting around "rich people will get even richer" and in some way we need reach people to be involved I guess.

The money I've made just over the past year from people dumping... I'll buy a bunch of PTS when the exchanges come back on.

Your here in the first place because Bytemaster had controversial ideas. Note that this idea comes more from the fatal centralization and algorithmic issues in Proof-of-Work than raising money. This is pretty hard to convince anyone unless they have read and understand the Bitcoin whitepaper, or had a coin they had significant value in die because of a network attack.

Here is my suggestion:
15% stake in Protoshares V2 which is a hybrid Proof-of-Work/Proof-of-Stake. This honors the original social contact to the community and the miners, plus a bonus. Also shorten the re-target time, and perhaps use the new version of momentum. Protoshares can laugh as botnets start to have a bad day, miners will be happy as they don't get squeezed. Current investors can now earn "dividends" even before the BitShares release. Also makes us resistant to 51% attacks.

Bytemaster can up with a next gen Proof-of-Stake system, so I'm talking with the creator of Proof-of-Stake to see what he says. I think the 5+ crypto-currencies will proof-of-stake will implement it. Its that good. It's kind of funny that everything we come up with here has major implications on the entire cryptocurrency world.

15% sake in AngelShares. Why do we need AngelShares? Simple if want a talented C++ developer making an average of $89,280(2011), we need to at least match that to get he/she to drop what they are doing. Byte estimated that around $1 million is currently being spend on mining right now. Unless you have a rig(I do), I'd much rather those funds to go development than Amazon EC2. So if we were to make similar numbers on AngelShares we could pretty much double the company overnight.

tldr; Hybrid Proof-of-Stake/Proof-of-Work is probably good for everyone. AngleShares good because it speeds things up.
tldr2; Will offer 1 PTS if someone can find a fatal flaw in my argument.

Note that hybrid will take much more time. I say we keep Protoshares as it is, then release the upgraded Protoshares after we get Keyotee out.

+1 this really good !!! but  like luckybit said who controls the allocation of the funds?
