Had the same issue with them last week. It was swiftly solved after contacting support.

I have not yet tried 0.6.2, a quick look over the changelog yielded no relevant bugfixes. Did I miss anything?

Running under gdb is feasible, but I do believe that the segfault is not the issue here. I got them before as well, especially after receiving transfers.. almost 100% of the time, when both accounts are in the same wallet.

Still have not succeeded fixing this. I have thought about maybe eliminating the accounts from the wallet, letting it sync, and then rescan transactions, once the accounts are re-imported.

Is this possible?

Technical Support / Unable to sync blockchain ....
« on: March 14, 2015, 10:59:13 am »
It's been three days and I am very frustrated.. ::)

This is 0.6.1 on Linux. Due to incorrect balance report, I reset the database which translated to "sync the whole blockchain", which, the program informed, would only "take a few minutes".

Fast forward to now, and it is still not done. It is segfaulting now and then (every day about 5 times) and does not appear ot make any actual progress. It has been stuck on a certain block for hours now. Again.

I have 7 accounts configured. Seem to recall having read somewhere that this might be a problem.

By now I have considerable funds in bitshares and can't just drop the accts and start over.

Any hints?

Ok, that settles that. Seems there's a lot of outdated info out there (wiki, old blog posts).. perhaps we should address that, it can be confusing to newcomers.

Thank you guys for the replies.

That does not sound very practical..

Any idea why the price discrepancies are so huge? Greed? Neglect?

The BitAssets idea is good in theory, but if in practice it's like this..

BTC/BTS is now at 0.00003428

The fair BTS/BitBTC price should be around 29172 per btc (0.00003428*29172 = ~1)

In the BitBTC built-in market, the sells instead look like:

29630 (already overpriced)
31250 (""  ""  ""  "")
31499  ..
...
40511 (ridiculously overpriced)
...
55000
...
65000

No way someone is going to buy like this. The market doesn't move.

I've observed the same in GOLD and SILVER (ridiculously overpriced compared to the official markets).

This seems to be a big issue?

Technical Support / "inactivity tax" question
« on: March 08, 2015, 04:45:50 pm »
During my research I read that there's some sort of inactivity tax, where 5% gets taken from bitassets that have not moved address for a year.

Is this info still current? And if so, does the official client proactively warn about the impending 5% cut in any way?

I am fairly new here, from my (rather limited) perspective it went a bit downhill with the whole PR blunder and dev silence on the forums.

How can that be a good thing? IMO there needs to exist some back and forth between users and developers, otherwise it seems to me that the devs live in their nice cathedral in the clouds away from the userbase, and the users don't know very well what the devs are up to and even if the users' opinions matter at all.

It seems unecessarily elitist to me that the developers no longer seem to post on the forums. This is a time where we all need to push together (discuss, brainstorm, develop the ecosystem, etc), not get divided in two camps.. the nobility and the lowly peasants.

I wonder if it would be faster with TOR?

It would -- if your tor bridge (direct connections are censored) is in a nearby asian country.

If TITAN obfuscates sender/receiver, how can my client see the originating account name of incoming funds?

Who else could get that information?

The openness of the dev team is what drew me into the PTS / BTS community.  I have not seen any other community work together to solve complex issues as seen on this forum.

Was DevSahres created to be a testing ground for new radical features for BitShares?  A simple solution might be to just start talking about changes to DevShares instead of BitShares.  This gives everyone a chance to see if the radical idea's work or not.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: 100% vs. 50% vs. 3% delegates
« on: February 27, 2015, 05:06:19 pm »
At the risk of sounding like a total newbie (which I am)...

What is the difference?

Correct if wrong, but if 3% then 97% of the delegate payout gets burned?
What happens to it? Does it disappear, or someone ends up getting it?
