Technical Support / Re: bittrex-deposits
« on: July 23, 2017, 05:18:17 pm »
The STEEM in your Bitshares account is actually OPEN.STEEM, which is an IOU issued by OpenLedger. You cannot send OPEN.STEEM directly to Bittrex. You need to follow the withdrawal procedure given by OpenLedger.

Here is the transaction:

Your money is not lost, Bittrex has your funds. Open a ticket with them and they will be able to help you, however this may take a very long time.

Hi,  I'm sick of trying to recover my wallet.  I'd like to emply your help please.

Hi NineLives, please add me on Skype at fluxanomaly627 and we'll go from there.

Ok, so with regards to BTCI (Bitcoin Instant), a realistic goal is to take a snapshot of the Bitcoin blockchain prior to the 1st Aug deadline (where it may fork into 2 or 3+ blockchains). We have performed snapshots against bitcoin and protoshares in the past for Bitshares, so this isn't an insane task to complete in 10 days.

It was proposed that the genesis.json file could be modified to include the sharedrop of the 'BTCI/BTC4' UIA against external BTC holders (mandatory witness upgrade).

Yes. Just so you know, I'm Julien Heller on Telegram ;)

Looks like this commit to a Protoshares fork meant for this purpose could be useful:

You were right.
In the program it was written that they can withdraw the commission directly from SBD (which would be logical and convenient). But no.

Do you have a Steemit account? I will repay the debt with several upvotes

Don't worry about it :)

It looks like you don't have any BTS in your account for fees.

I've gone ahead and sent you 1BTS.

If it's the case that they have lost access, there should be no intervention by the network similar to ETH & DAO.

A sure way of finding out if this is the case, is if someone with a balance greater than the hot wallet attempts to withdraw their BTS..

The shareholders will decide. We have a sophisticated governance system, which makes potential forks like this fair and possible. Settling this on-chain fast and efficiently will show other chains who have been in similar situations how powerful our system really is.

If you think there should be no intervention, your stake will have its say.

Technical Support / Re: Changing the brainkey?
« on: June 30, 2017, 03:44:22 pm »
The brain key is used to derive private keys deterministically. When you import an account key into your wallet, these are not cryptographically linked to the brain key of that wallet, so they cannot be deterministically generated.

When you import an account, go to the Permissions tab and clock your public key, you will see this:

Which shows that this is non-deterministic, and where the account was imported from.

I haven't messed around with the account permissions all that much, but I think it should be theoretically possible to swap out the permissions of a non-deterministic account to enable recovery of said accounts via brain key. @svk, any thoughts on this?

I've sent you a PM @niner

How much collateral did you back the HERO with? It sounds like you might have been force-called.
