General Discussion / Re: Announcing Angel Shares & BitShares Allocation
« on: December 27, 2013, 05:58:01 am »
Right. So to be clear, the import function on the BitShares (or other DAC) client will loop through all the private keys inside the wallet file, derive their public keys, and claim the shares associated with those public keys, which are waiting for them in the Genesis block. Right?

This seems obvious, but somehow I was confused because of the precautionary steps needed to preserve the private keys at Block 32000 when claiming Memory Coin.

So, there is a 100% secure way of attributing shares with nothing but the public key? Is there any way someone can 'spoof' someone else's public key by engineering a wallet file?

How will it be possible to obtain our DAC shares with only our PTS public key associated with how much we own?

Is there a social promise built into this that says I3 cannot donate to itself in order to attain AGS?

General Discussion / List your skills and be known
« on: December 23, 2013, 06:47:11 pm »
I think it would be useful if everyone who wants to help contribute to the growth of I3 to list your skills so that staff can know what kind of talents reside on these boards. Résumés would be impressive and might give you a better chance of really 'being on the team', however not mandatory.

I'll start:

- Intermediate/Advanced Python Skills
- 20 years experience with Photoshop/Illustrator and Graphic Design
- Experience recruiting/interviewing/hiring outsourced workers
- Experience recruiting/interviewing/hiring homeland workers
- Experience with managing outsourced/homeland workforces over Skype
- Experience with writing use-case documents aimed at contract developers
- 7 years experience owning/running online eCommerce storefronts
- Experience with affiliate marketing campaigns, both as a vendor and as an affiliate
- Experience with Facebook Ads, Adwords
- Experience Implementing Global SEO Best Practices
- Experience managing email marketing accounts through AWeber.com
- Experience with email Customer Support

I am constantly researching new decentralized cryptographic technologies, including competitors to I3. As it currently stands, I believe the visions behind I3 are lightyears ahead of the competition, which is why I have chosen to put my time and money into this company.

I conceptually understand how BitCoin works. I have read all the white-papers at the I3 website and grasp their concepts. I can help explain these things to people who don't understand them.

Brainstorming and creative problem solving are two of my most valued skills, and I excel at both in group/team settings, synergistically.

Thank you,
Julien

It would be helpful if Stan or Bytemaster could enlighten us with the OP's question.

First impressions / critiques:

- I think it's worth finding whomever snatched up the .com or .org. It's hard to take anybody seriously on a .net these days, unless the branding really sells the product as a 'network'.

- I'm not a fan of the new logo. The 'p' created by the negative space is not obvious, and as others have mentioned, it is very similar to the GameCube logo... I think this concept can work if the negative space is more obvious, however it may be difficult to pull that off.

- Too much space between everything. I understand you don't want to cram everything together, but I think a better balance can be achieved.

- Is there going to be a video on the top laptop screen? This would be very effective.

- 'Distributed' is not aligned with the other two on the same row. Similar alignment issue with items underneath 'Why Protoshares?'

- Internet slang 'tl;dr' seems out of character and unprofessional.

- Stan's original quote "What's backing your coin?" is much more powerful and provocative than this paraphrased version. This version is perhaps more civil, but I don't think the change is doing it any favors in terms of leaving a lasting impression.

- Lists are better when they have introductions, like you did under 'Early Start'. This would fill out the site a little more too, which it seems it needs.

As a positive, this site already feels a lot less like a scam than competitor websites. I think the next big priority would be to produce a video (animations, voice actors, etc), and have it auto-start on arrival. The ideas behind DACs are exciting, and a good video explaining the core concepts of DACs and how they relate to ProtoShares will get people pumped and ready to invest. "This is the future, man!"

Also, I will do the PTS favor- PM me your address.

MemoryCoin / Re: Distribution At Block 32000 - MemoryCoin 2.0
« on: December 15, 2013, 10:18:58 pm »
Why is the miner using so little RAM? I have 71GB of RAM on my server with 8 cores, and it's only using 2% of it. Shouldn't utilizing more RAM help this substantially? This IS MemoryCoin after all, isn't it?

What's backing your coin?

Great tagline, in my opinion. Provocative, and in turn begs the question back at PTS, which hooks them to learn more.
