General Discussion / Re: Reasons for Lowering Fees
« on: January 14, 2016, 09:36:32 pm »
I'm not a fan of percentage based fee's.  The fee's are paying for the cost of doing the work to process the transaction.  It doesn't cost, computer power wise, anymore to process a $.01 transaction or a $1 million dollar transaction.

I think there may be a better answer to micropayments, other than percentage based fees.  Percentage based fee's are really a legacy form of tax, and we should look at some alternative and innovative forms of fees while we are still young.

So tell us what it might be.

Maybe: "Rate Limiting Transactions", point 1.0 of the "BitShares Development Proposals by BunkerChain Labs and Cryptonomex, Inc".
IF someone can retrieve the older/not edited version of this document, we could better evaluate that proposal.

Try to restore the backup in the wallet management console.

If it doesn't work, go to settings --> wallet management console and try with:
-Backup the brainkey of the wallet that contains the account you are talking about (select it as "active wallet")
-Create a new wallet and click on "CUSTOM BRAINKEY (ADVANCED)"
-Insert a new passphrase, wallet name, and the backuped brainkey

Technical Support / Re: Help!! I need to gain access to my wallet
« on: January 12, 2016, 06:39:23 pm »
Sort of a newbie here. I have funds that have been sitting as an investment. I never upgraded to the 2.0 system since it's came out.

I backed up my wallet as a JSON file. How do I gain access to this wallet again? I'm having trouble importing it. Thanks

Hi :)

First: export your keys from bitshares 0.9.3c client using the console method --> http://docs.bitshares.eu/bitshares/migration/howto-exporting-wallet.html#using-the-console

Second: go to https://bitshares.openledger.info and import your keys as described here, on "web wallet" section --> http://docs.bitshares.eu/bitshares/migration/howto-importing-wallet.html#web-wallet

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: bhuz as temporary committee member
« on: January 12, 2016, 01:41:40 pm »
Since I am voted back in the Committee, I will try to post here more frequently for state my position regarding proposals and other issues/decisions the Committee faces.

For starter, I support the proposal 1.10.49 that allow the committee to withdraw the bitassets collected by the fee pools.
http://cryptofresh.com/p/1.10.49

The best use for these funds will be greatly discussed with the whole community before any decision on how to spend them.

Building too

Devs, especially @bytemaster and @Stan should take this seriously IMHO.
How can we improve or fix the bad management? If we fix this problem, will they build their businesses on current BTS ecosystem?

... I don't think bts would go to zero if they quit working on the project.  It's just code, its mit licensed, and any programmer could come in and start working on it.

It certainly could, though. Interesting this is being brought up today.
Just this morning I was skyped by a whale friend of mine in China who asked me...

[1:48:56 AM] : Do you know how to fork BTS ?
[1:48:56 AM] : we want to fork BTS
[1:48:56 AM] : :)
[1:48:56 AM] : For stock market use
[1:48:56 AM] : In China
[1:49:06 AM] : may need some help

If CNX doesn't keep their nose to the grindstone, the next fork might just hurt a bit more..
I think you should push him to use the current bts platform and develop on our chain instead of forking it.

What will you advise him to do?

IMO it was also a mistake from metaex to relie only on one feed from cmc

That was not an error on the DEX, but only on CMC side. So no hurt at all for who was trading on the DEX.

Feed errors like the one experienced today causing problems are not acceptable either. The whole feed system should be abolished as it was in the beginning.

What feed error?

Are you referring to what happened on metaexchange?
Because that was NOT an error on BTS/DEX side

10% is from BM alone...so I would not really say "widely accepted by the community"

Anyway, the only thing to do at this point is to hope that this feature will bring lots of new users and adoption for BTS sake...
