can anybody confirm here which was the last block before snapshot?

was it  3826176 ?

So they received my coins 1350 blocks BEFORE snapshot. They have it in the genesis 2.0 of THEIR WALLET. The point now is if IS BITTREX HONEST OR NOT?

Whether they are dishonest or misinformed, you still sent them BTS four hours before the snapshot and chose to trust a centralized exchange. Hard to blame them when this painful lesson has been learned by others numerous times before.

Fortunately for us, the solution to centralized exchanges has arrived.

EDIT: Bittrex has disabled the BTC/BTS Market. BTER did the same thing yesterday.

General Discussion / Article on Banx
« on: October 14, 2015, 04:31:09 pm »
Thanks for your feedback. This article did have a few more ins and outs than normal, so perhaps it isn't my best style-wise. I tried to get the important facts out first and then narrow down onto the more specific pieces. That is standard journalism practice. If you feel that I didn't do that properly, perhaps you are correct, I kind of don't like my intro, but do feel things pick up after that.

Outside of style, I think this is perhaps the most important article I've ever done.

I do appreciate your feedback, but my writing has been competent enough to keep me fed and sheltered for the last three years, and has led to a book deal.

I am well aware of libel and ethics laws. And am confident in my article. My article states that the marketcap was fake. That is a fact. That BanxShares would be removed from CMC, that happened. That the volume was made up of off market trades that could not be verified as real, that is also a fact and something Lyford admitted. That the projections put on Banxcapital.com/investors were misleading and unrealistic, judging by any industry standards, that is also true. That Banx's code was copied from Foocoin, which isn't even a coin but a template, also true. That C-Cex and Mark disagree on what caused them to remove Banx is a fact (I did not take a position on who was right). That people who bought Mining contracts have been switched to Banx, not a fact but something Mark Lyford told me himself.

Exposing scams like Paycoin and potential scams like Banx is my contribution to this space.

Again, thank you for your constructive criticism,  I am simply trying to make you guys aware of this.

I read your article again. Second time through, I think it is actually not so bad - technically speaking. I think I was jaded by reading the comments section, where you guys going back and forth was pretty ugly and tarnished you "taking the high road" so to speak. Sorry if I came across harshly.

Maybe my recommendation then is don't engage in the comment section.

Again I don't know anything about you or Banx so strictly considering the writing aspect.

I read your article. I have no knowledge regarding the content and have no comment on it whatsoever.

I would like to comment on the technical proficiency of your "article" though, because the crypto space is sorely in need of credible journalism.

The article was very poorly written. You should not expect informed individuals to read it and take you seriously. It does not conform to any technical writing standards that would be required by a legitimate publication (1). Most of it is conjecture and opinion on your part. The subject could make a strong legal case it is libelous (2). The article in no way attempts to adhere to the 4 core principles outlined by the SPJ Code of Ethics (3).

We are in the "wild west" of cryptocurrency. Responsible journalism and PR are critical to helping us make informed decisions about how to participate. Please consider learning what it takes to contribute to the advancement of this innovative, world changing space.

General Discussion / Re: Migrating to BTS 2.0 is confusing

I'm missing 1 of my usernames.  Anyone have any ideas of how to get that back?  I didn't register it.  Where get I buy a namespace?

good question about 0.9.X accounts not registered on the blockchain. I don't think they made it into the genesis block, but someone keep me honest.

I had an unregistered account and it didn't show up either. I didn't have any assets in it though.

^^Go to the Dashboard screen > Click Settings > Click Wallets > Click "Claim Balances" > You should be able to claim your balances from 0.9.3 into the web wallet.

Yes - there was an option to import my 0.9.3 wallet backup OR import my private keys exported from the console - at least that is what I observed when I imported into the open ledger web wallet then clicked through to claim my balances. I found it to be very easy.

I set you as my proxy Fav to test out. I don't see a reason to change it however :-) Thanks for your contributions.

Really impressed with the web wallet at OpenLedger. Transaction confirmation, GUI, it all feels very very slick.

Congrats to all of you who made this happen!

xeroc

PS no explanations, the name is self-explanatory

We know he is a bad dude.  The template, though, was not covered...sadly for xeroc that does not help him  :(

Tragic.  What a strain on credibility

In business, you seldom have total control of events, in fact you seldom have any control.

You just pivot and carry on.

Sometimes plans work out quicker than expected, sometimes there are setbacks that move projected goals.

To let a change in plans from a situation that you cannot discourage you, is to fail in business.

To carry on in spite of it all is the true measure of success.

Do not discourage yourself and others, celebrate the willingness to move forward in spite of all obstacles.

Of course you are right. That doesn't change the fact that Stan's cocksure attitude leaves a sour taste in the mouth of many community members. He's the boy who cried wolf at this point IMHO.
Horsefeathers. He has literally informed the community of developments as they have happened once he has been given liberty to do so. He is not then responsible for all the businesses that have shown an interest, nor the manner or timescale in which they execute their BitShares implementation. Stan is busy, along with many others, reaching out and forming partnerships that will sustain Cryptonomex and grow BitShares. This is precisely what BitShares needs. Any reasonable person would understand this and would be interested in learning of promising partnerships in development. If they succeed or adapt or fail is not down to Stan or anyone reaching out. What's important is the strategy and the direction.....there are people making the right things happen and if only some of them succeed, well a pebble can start an avalanche.

Yes, of course Ben - to everything you said. I just think his hyperbole is over the top and I personally don't find it very persuasive. Hopefully I'm eating crow in a few months.

General Discussion / Re: Bitshares price discussion

What if some large fish borrowed all available bts and shorted from a very high price like 1BTC.  After all bts is loaned out we would need to set borrow requests for the max rate(2% I think).  It would cost us money, but as rates rose, the loaners that are loaning to the shorts would raise their rates, and thus remove their auto-renews.

That might have worked if they had done it a few days ago.
Now its too late, shorts got to cover at a profit and longs got rekt.

What's the status for Cagara at this point?
