A reverse stock split where the number bitshares is reduced but the same value is kept could be useful from a marketing perspective.

if for every 3 bts owned people got 1 bts the value of 1 bts would be about a cent and easier to think about.
Also a sub 1 billion number of shares in existence maybe more appealing to some people.

when you go to bitshares.org it's not explaining simply enough what bitshares is. It currently says:

its to long winded and trying to sound clever. simple is best. we should say what we are.

I've traded for years and the trollbox is good for realtime info, this forum is too slow for sharing trading info, even if its fud it still helps build the community.

Can somebody quickly knock up a website that iframes a troll box on the right side and openledger on the left.

even if its just polos troll box

Very sad to see BTS drop this low on poloniex, especially with no buy support.

are people getting margin call liquidated.

need some buy support total buys are only 76btc now

If we want Bitshares to be used as an actual exchange.
Make it simple to deposit btc and start trading.
A simple BTC to BitBTC bridge from shapeshift should just be built into the main client in my opinion.
Otherwise people will just trade at Poloniex.

General Discussion / Sidechains should be a priority for bitshares.

Sidechains alpha code was released yesterday.
I believe bit assets need to be collateralised with bitcoin instead of bitshares and sidechains will allow for this.
Holders of bitshares will cry because using bitshares as collateral instead means the price should rise more as bit assets are adopted.

But the truth is that bitcoin will be the collateral for the most commonly used USD derivative as it is the biggest most liquid and most trusted crypto.
Bitshares need to make btc the default collateral for bit assets or another USD derivative will take its place.
just saying.
