I'm doing a Bitshares meetup on the 22nd Dec in manchester (UK) at madlab on edge street

Ther seems to be alot of confusion about the settle ment process, could somebody explain settlement rules clearly.

If you settle does it settle immediately or in 24hrs and at what price feed?
what is SQP?
 If every smartcoin holder settled would all smartcoins cease to exist?
why are people moaning that the shorts are having a hard time with the current rules?
 

well here's a free money opportunity

Am I right in thinking If I buy smartcoin with bts for less than the settlement price I can then instantly settle it and make a profit?

Also just noticed that USDT ( https://tether.to/ ) is now only trading as a base asset against BTC.
It used to trade as a base asset against loads of alts but they've obviously removed them as they weren't getting traction.

This could be an opportunity for BITUSD to step up. I'd love to see BITUSD trading as a base asset against other cryptos on poloniex, but like others have already said in this thread Bitshares holders talk to much and don't trade enough.

edit: I was wrong, I was in the margin trading section which is why the other USDT markets wern't showing :-(

I believe the initial system was meant to keep a tab on the bts wallet and the associated btc address but it was dropped in order to avoid keeping any user info of sorts.
Issues like these make me want to discuss putting it back on.

The buy-back *is* the redistribution of trading fee profits. By placing market buy orders on the open market, we raise the value of METAFEES using the profits we generated via the fees.

Where are these buy back orders?  shentist said they would appear here (https://bitshares.openledger.info/#/market/METAFEES_METAEX.BTC)but there are no buy orders at all?
