Are you doing a mumble session at 8pm cet today?

587
What has been agreed with regard to the UI? When does it get open sourced and how much is the community paying for it to CMX?

I agree that UIA are the only way we will get traction to begin with, however having mulitple gateways is confusing.

when I go on openledger why can I see the tradeblock and metaexchange gateways. It's confusing.

Also all the "markets with stars"  should trade as pairs only with OPEN.BTC so it replicates the experience of trading on poloniex

General Discussion / Re: [EBM] Get liquidity into BitCNY / BitBTC market

Ultimately I believe that bitshares needs a sidechain btc that locks up real btc in the bitshares blockchain.
This would be far superior to all BTC UIAs and BitBTC and render them pointless with the outcome of much fewer market pairs and more liquidity.
Also it would make for the perfect collateral for any fiat MPAs has it is a very deep liquid market.

I hope this is what Bytemaster is working on with the top secret Plasma project.

also the banks tech guys are more likely to want to build something from scratch which ethereum alllows for

yeah i know a few people there but there system is centralised and there would be no point for them to put it on a blockchain.
No point for them anyway.

Can anyone confirm whether lime wallet is still in the works or is this really a dead project?

Uphold.com full membership requires your phone number, name and a scan of your passport as well as a picture of you holding your passport.
Basically it is impossible to setup more than one account with them. (sybil attack solved)
It is also free and easy for me or anyone to check an email address to see if they are a full member. (so outsourcing the verification to uphold)

As for how ubicoin has value I had 3 ideas, number 2 is my current favourite.

1.) simply raise money from governments, charities, big business, rich people who like the idea and then divide the amount donated between everyone.

2.) Raise money in the same way but use it to put a floor in the price of ubicoin through the bitshares market. so ubicoin would be free floating currency with a huge buy wall set at a low dollar value to stop it ever being completely worthless.

3.)  Don't get any donations and issue the coin as a free floating currency like bitcoin and let market forces decide its value.

I believe the more fairly disrtributed a cryptocoin is the more likely it will have value.
I am building a website for this project that will hopefully be up soon.

If anyone has a better simpler yet secure idea to prevent sybil attacks I'd be very interested to hear from you.

Or if anyone wants to help me with this ubi project let me know.

here is a reddit for crypto UBI specifically: https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoUBI

yes I am a big fan of Unconditional basic income as well as bitshares and want to issue UBICOIN. As I'm sure you're aware the hardest problem with UBI is preventing sybil attacks.

My current thinking is I will give free coins to anyone who is a full member of uphold.com

We should sponsor the daily decrypt for a week its $100 for 5 days.

how do I make a worker proposal for this or get money from the reserve pool?

I feel that we need a gateway like openledger to add the top 30 coins on coinmarket cap as user issued assets so that when people use bitshares it feels like any other exchange.  and these shoulld always trade as a pair with BITBTC and not BTS.

the only MPAs that need our attention and trading volume are USD and BTC.

General Discussion / Re: Best Exchange Website

Transfer does not need it 's own tab. It should just be on the dashboard page.

I agree with this

I run a btc wallet similar to venmo that lets you send to phone numbers. Its a free service because it's centralised. I though about migrating accounts and transactions to bitshares but the fees are off putting.

its called www.telebit.org

when you go to bitshares.org it's not explaining simply enough what bitshares is. It currently says:

BitShares 2.0 is an industrial-grade financial smart contract platform.
Built using the latest in industry research, BitShares 2.0 delivers
a decentralized financial platform with speeds approaching** NASDAQ.

its to long winded and trying to sound clever.  simple is best. we should say what we are.
