Later in the same video, Max interviewed the actual central human counterparty that you must risk your money with when you purchase Bitreserve brand Bitgold (a "dumbcoin" for lack of a better term)(no offense):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaU_dsXTsxM#t=18m14s

Don't you think that Max will now want to interview a human who can inform the Greeks about a counterparty risk free on-blockchain "actual Bitgold smartcoin"?

Max is no dummy.  He comprehended bitcoin pretty quick and became the greater fool (that you wish you were) immediately, do you think that he is too stupid to understand smart contracts?

He owns BitShares anyway because I heard Stacey mention Protoshares years back, and Max is always talking about being diversified in crypto.  I bet dollars to doughnuts that he is already a BTS whale.

FU FTM

Now everybody is going to think that this is pure sarcasm!

273
Correct, and what is it that we specialize in here at BitShares?

We just happen to sell the world's greatest (most counterparty-risk-free) smartcoins.

and for a small fee, I would be happy to personally interview Stacy Herbert for the good (very good) of the company.

274
I distinctly heard "smart"coin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaU_dsXTsxM#t=4m20s

It's all there at 4:20

Max Keiser is a pro.  He knows exactly what he is doing.  Why would he say "start coin" twice without saying "smart coin, whoops I mean start coin"?

He is trying to save the Greek people from financial ruin, and his producers have forbid him from pumping the very volatile bitcoin alone, without adding the disclaimer ("smartcoins" like BitUSD/Nubits) just in cast bitcoin loses another 80% while BitUSD/Nubits loses 0% like it did last time he pumped bitcoin (alone, without the "smartcoin" disclaimer).

I suppose that you think that he "also coincidently" mentions this at exactly 4:20 for no particular reason at all?

275
He is far too valuable to be wasted on marketing.

What would you rather have :

A decent Max Keiser pump or another order of magnitude scalability upgrade.

Keep him focussed on code.

The product is obviously selling itself.

Woz never marketed.  It was beneath him.

Plus we don't want BM to get BR'd

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlwwVuSUUfc#t=37s

Keiser will just want to BR BM just like Adam Levine did the other day.

276
"smartcoins"

On today's Keiser report, Max "urges people in Greece to convert their savings, what they have left, into smartcoins"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaU_dsXTsxM#t=4m16s

When the 100,000 TPS blockchain is trading smartcoins (aka BitAssets or price stable cryptos) faster than Wall St trades stocks, then Max K will want to interview Max W, or Ken C, or Method X, or Stan L, or anybody who can explain to him what he just told the Greeks to buy.

I am looking forward to getting my hands on Graphene powered Bitshares custom blockchain for Tokenly

Or an identical functioning custom UIA for Tokenly on the BitShares bockchain for a fraction of the cost at a fraction of the total development time..

It looks like Crypronomex just landed another gig.

I wonder if Pat Byrne of Overstock will change his mind about contracting Cryptonomex when he sees that Graphene just blew Medici out of the water performance-wise

Who will be the next businessman floored by Graphene?

It looks like Cryptonomex might need to expand their operations due to exploding demand.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Short Order Refactoring
« on: June 16, 2015, 03:34:39 pm »
1. How would then longs be collateralized?

Their investment plus the collateral put up by the shorts

Who's providing the upside gains if shorts are no longer doing that?
gains by whom?

How will Smartcoins come into existence then?

Shorts borrow any amount by locking up collateral (remember that least collateralized shorts get called first during arbitration).  Actually, there would probably be a leverage limit here based on the feed price to total amount requested to borrow ratio, eh BM?

I like it.  Especially if it helps BitShares run more efficiently.  And since shorting is all about managing collateral anyway now (BTS2.0), then conceptually, nothing has actually changed.

All I need to do to short a smart coin is borrow some then sell it on the market.

You make the shorting process a 2 step process, which is what it is supposed to be in real life, however, with the advent of Naked Shorting, nobody sources the actual security anymore.  This brings us all back to the Austrian Economic roots of non-fractional reserve securities trade.

Basic, simple, elegant, intuitive, easy to comprehend, and easier to teach.

281
Send it to the reserve pool.

It's the easiest and fairest (perceived) option.

And the Cryptonomex devs will just get it all back after they price gouge us on their next proposal following the "perfect privacy for 2M BTS" gets implemented.

It's all going to the same place.  Let's at least keep up the illusion of fair play and free market competition.  We all know that no dev team is just going to step in here and convince us to spend money on a feature that Cryptonomex can code better.

In fact, if another developer was implementing a feature, I would pay Cryptonomex to proofread the code for us, because right now, they are the only team that I trust.

Why?  Because I am a fanboy?

No, because I use the tools.

282
I for one can't think of a better option, especially if we can get this to market first, like BM said is possible.

The lure of being the first mover in this space is well worth the risk, IMVO.

283
Keyhotee founders received an entire day's worth of AGS.  BM said that this was more than was promised, and the rest of the mumble crowd agreed.

If we can't use them to pay for development, then how about if we just burn them?

284
get rid of the shadow of bitcoin.

Yes, I think that everyone here has suffered enough "bit" fatigue to last a lifetime.

Bitcoin was hip....like 5 years ago.

Please, can we all just move on already.  it's mid 2015 for gods sake.

It's the smart thing to do.

will bitUSD keep its name?

Of course, but there is absolutely no good reason why bitUSD needs to be called a "BitShares bitasset"

For the love of god.
