General Discussion / Need help recovering my bitshares from brain key
« on: August 31, 2016, 11:26:17 pm »
In the past i sued the site https://wallet.bitshares.org/#/accounts to store my bitshares. It looks like that webpage has been abandoned. The certificate expired but I can still log in. Unfortunately it doesn't connect to the network and I don't know how to get my coins out. I have my 12-word brain key my password and a string that looks like its a json file format that I labeled backup. Unfortunately, I don't seem to be able to use any of my information anywhere. My backup file doesn't work at https://bitshares.openledger.info/#/existing-account. Please keep in mind I set this up pre BitShares 2.0.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction?
Thanks a bunch.
Marc

I have a wallet on wallet.bitshares.org. I don't believe I have a backup file (at leas the ones I have don't seem to work) but I do have the original 16 word seed phrase.

I tried to use the seed on bitshares.openledger.info and bitshares.org/wallet/ with no success.
When I try to go to wallet.bitshares.org Chrome won't even allow me to load the page. See message below.

What am I missing here?

Thank you

wallet.bitshares.org normally uses encryption to protect your information. When Chrome tried to connect to wallet.bitshares.org this time, the website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials. This may happen when an attacker is trying to pretend to be wallet.bitshares.org, or a Wi-Fi sign-in screen has interrupted the connection. Your information is still secure because Chrome stopped the connection before any data was exchanged.

You cannot visit wallet.bitshares.org right now because the website uses HSTS. Network errors and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work later.

Technical Support / Corrupted Wallet. Please Help
« on: June 15, 2015, 06:54:06 pm »
When I try to log into my Windows Bitshare client with my password, It seems like it's trying to log in but then nothing happens. This is the same behavior with the correct or wrong password. When I select File | Export Wallet it does prompt me for a filename but once I give it one and press ok the software crashes. I've tried to figure out what causes this. I;ve tried several version including completely uninstalling and reinstalling the software. Long story short the same behavior can be replicated with any installed version using my wallet folder  %AppData%\BitShares\wallets\default. Does anyone have an idea what happened?
Thanks
