General Discussion / Re: Stealthier stealth
« on: February 26, 2017, 03:30:53 pm »
BitShares Stealth works similar to Monero. The user transfers funds into a stealth account, once the funds are in the stealth account, you cannot track it anymore.

A stealth transaction is between two stealth accounts and a blockchain explorer will only find "unknown send n unknown to unknown".

I approved the latest proposal to increase the Witness Pay rate from 1.5 BTS to 3 BTS per block in the proposal http://cryptofresh.com/p/1.10.1183 .

I approve this proposal because I think it will attract more active witness, increase the competition between the paid witnesses and will give us all a more stable blockchain. However, we as a community also need to keep your witnesses accountable and I will do a routine Witness check on the BitShares Hangout to keep people accountable for their work. I am confident that with transparency, better incentives and a more active community we can grow the BitShares Blockchain. I think that is something we all can agree on.

General Discussion / Re: bitshares asset KAPITAL can't sell???
« on: February 18, 2017, 01:53:08 pm »
thank you for your reply, do you mean this is a bitshares bug ?  asset issue bug ?.......

Hi lcabcdefg,

No that is not an asset bug, it is a feature. A UIA issuer has the opportunity to activate white/blacklisting feature to control who can hold his UIA token. That is a very important feature for regulated financial institutions, loyalty programs etc.

Best regards,

chris

Hi,

I hope this post isn't seen as a let me google that for you type of thing, I'd just like to see if someone on here is willing to give me an overview on a high-level of the integration and relationship between the BitShares network and the Graphene platform. My interest was sparked by the following article which describes the creation of a "SmartCoin" for Argentina, that is somehow linked to BitShares and as a result maintains the price stability that the nature of BitShares affords it.

Article link: https://decentralize.today/how-we-raised-3-500-to-create-our-own-coin-on-bitshares-b45119070836#.lcy7mgtsq

If anyone would be willing to reach out to me or perhaps provide an in-depth explanation here, it would be much appreciated. I am going forward as part of a larger project that leverages the BitShares platform and want to make sure I understand the nature of exactly how it works before going forward. Thank you!

Hi Nicomee,

please send me an e-mail to Chris@bitshares-Munich.de with a short summary of your idea. I can walk you through the BitShares platform in a short call and explain BitAssets to you.

cheers Chris

General Discussion / Re: Suggestion about Max Supply of UIA
« on: February 05, 2017, 09:55:40 am »
I have a list of additional permissions that should be added to UIAs .. wanted to write a new BSIP but haven't had the time.
So what I would like to do is this: Add additional permissions to assets that
* allow you to opt-out of changing max supply
* allow you to prevent trading (but nothing else .. transfers etc...)
* allow you to require an issue to approve a transfer from A->B
* allow you to switch an asset type pm<->mpa<->uia .. if there is no supply ..

That is a good list, I added it to the Roadmap here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1kgTYNEeqYP8xrEKBs2L0uc52xjQCPURuigI2CIplEtE/edit?usp=sharing

I also agree that we could add a UIA creation freeze with a flag and permission setting. Some people want to have the option to create new UIA, others might want to permanently turn it off to (If you create a new Bitcoin for example)

I donĀ“t know how big the development is for such an extension yet.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: [worker] Python-steem and uptick (1.14.52)
« on: February 04, 2017, 10:40:20 am »
We also support this worker proposal. I am looking forward to creating more dev tools for the community. Please also add an extended documentation to the tool so that new devs can get started easily.

Short question:

- How much time will you dedicate for this worker and BitShares?
4,000 euro a month sounds like a full-time worker for 3 months.

- Are you also working on further steemit related projects?

Hi guys,

I would like to crowdsource the framework for a BitShares Liquidity Contest that will promote the BitShares DEX, increase Liquidity and reward those with the best TradingBot/Trading Skills.

To get the contest off the ground I need your help to create the framework, the rules, marketing, liquidity, feedback etc.

  • What is the Framework for the contest
  • What is the timeframe?
  • When does the contest start?
  • What is the reward?
  • How do we define the winner?
  • Who can participate?
  • What are the main markets we trade?
  • Who is marketing the event?
  • Who makes a Tutorial video to attract e.g. polo traders
  • Trading bots allowed?
  • Live Mumble during the contest?

Some sources:

This Forum post will evolve and I will add your feedback here.

The BitShares Blockchain has a lot of great features among them price stable digital assets. Today I want to talk about how do we kick off one of our most powerful and innovative features, the market pegged assets (MPA)?

You can find the full post here: http://steemurl.com/jqOGo2KA

I am looking forward to your feedback.
