Would be good to put it to the test... use popcorntime.io or torrents on an ISP that doesn't allow it using this browser and see if they can track you and shut your account down.

My ISP doesn't allow Torrents and ive been doing it past 5 years no worries at all.

Nothing at all. Just download Utorrent and have fun lmao.

I probably should try to be more sneaky these days .....

But I have gone this long with out them saying a word.

I couldn't get the precompiled Linux binary to work.  It seems to want to be run as root, and if so that's kinda a non starter.  Is there an English language Linux how to?

Not sure buddy hop over here...there is a lot of arguing and the more minds here the better...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1138930.0

we are all chatting with the dev. He is not that fluent in English this is the main issue ATM.

We need more English speakers involved in this project and give these guys a hand for the Western side of marketing. They got the East covered. Many westerners are having trouble understanding the Coin fully still as there is a language barrier.

One thing I do understand is TOR is illegal in China...So yes this does have big potential at the moment for countries like China.

I am also trying to figure out if this would add further security to DNMs websites if they switched from Tor to VPN.

Very interesting  development out of china...downloaded the wallet and never seen anything like it..check it out

NEW WEBSITE: http://www.bitnet.wang   (SWITCH TO ENGLISH)
http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/vpncoin/

The user is able to freely connect to the decentralized P2P VPN network freely through ways they choose. This allows for increased security. The static verification of identity can lead to security breaches, potentially causing the leak of sensitive information. Bitnet verifies the “identity” of its users dynamically through the blockchain, where the ever-changing credentials to log in are securely stored.

All of this information is also completely anonymous. Connection to a VPN node through Bitnet is virtually invisible because this network is decentralized. Once connected, you can see what they see, while nobody else can see you. This VPN is, in ways, the “first civilian TOR.”

Bitnet also enacts a unique domain system with virtually infinite possible combinations. The domain names are as follows: http://(wallet-address) without the parentheses.

Any business or enterprise may set up their own website on Bitnet with the only cost being server utilities. There is no required domain registration fee. Since this is P2P, a business may trade even outside of its regional limitations. This is especially useful in a communist state like China, where censorship is such a problem. You can see what you deem fit, not what the government deems fit for you. The list of applicable uses for Bitnet goes on from P2P instant messaging and phone systems; there’s a plethora of useful feature to choose from.

Bitnet As a Whole
Tor and I2P are two similar projects to Bitnet. However, Tor and I2P receive heavy government and private funding because of their applicable uses in privacy and security. The developers behind Bitnet hope to create the third multi-node, decentralized client of importance.

In this sense, Bitnet really is a civilian implementation of Tor. Unlike the previous two, Bitnet is Chinese. Tor and I2P are American in origin and not necessarily tailored to the needs of people who need decentralized anonymity in the world. Bitnet comes in as a personalized system that can be suited to the needs of the individual user.

VPNCoin
VPNCoin is the driving force behind Bitnet. It’s the epicenter of the utilities included in the client because the client is first and foremost an alt-coin wallet. It goes deeper than that, though. A decentralized trade market is embedded in Bitnet. Its intrinsic currency is obviously going to be VPNCoin.

Great idea must be done somehow

Whats all this optimism based on? 2.0 will only create a sustainable higher price if the product is usable and attracts a decent userbase that is actually paying fees for services. Weve been failing at that for 12 months now, and I dont see why 2.0 should suddenly change that.
ThI codebase is pretty well developed.. There is more value there then our current marketcap suggests.

Interesting...yes alot is riding on 2.0. it will define the future of Bitshares that is for sure.

0.45CNY

They are really going to have to deliver on the marketing end and the UI of how 2.0 looks. There will be a learning curve for a ton of people. This is all riding on 2.0 if done right.

When BTS goes bull mode, some of those bitUSD holders will want to trade back into BTS to take part.

Other way around as well ;)

General Discussion / Re: nasdaq to use bitcoin technology

We should do all of that once 2.0 is delivered. Only then can we prove what BitShares is worth so at the moment we kind of have our hands tied up.

This ^

Imagine Google attempting to sell a smart car to Ford without even a working prototype.  I don't think it would go over so well.  The best response you could hope for is "well, let us know when you get it working and then we can talk."  Once bitshares 2.0 is working in a live environment, then these major institutions may take notice, and it will probably take some time to iron out the initial bugs in 2.0 to really have a great product to demonstrate.

True. Also whoever wrote the article and Bloomberg probably dont have as good as an idea about bitcoin as most of us do because we have all been following it and involved so long.
I do agree. However based on what they said in the last dev hang out one can only hope the "big bank" that is taking notice of bitshares is "big" enough to bring it to Nasdaqs attention....one can only guess....exciting times wow

Seems I overestimated how much time NASDAQ invests in research prior to execution ..
In the end, we should try to be a lot more present at conferences, meetups and workshops/hackatons..
So I don't think its simply an issue of research. Nadaq is one of the most technologically advances exchanges in all areas of the exchange business not just trade execution. They really want to use this technology to consolidate back office operations because it will allow for them to have a competitive advantage over those other exchanges that have more heavily invested in clearing services.

To be fair they are only just getting their feet wet and bitcoin being the premier blockchain at the moment is a good way of doing that. They are using bitcoin to manage cap tables which can be adequately performed using bitcoins blockchain and open assets. I can't remember where exactly I reqd this, but I'm pretty sure they are looking for alternatives to bitcoin going forward.

I think it would be really beneficial to reach out nasdaq to give them an idea of what this technology is capable in terms of scalability and in terms of compliance. Additionally I think it would be good to reach out CMEs Strategic Investment Group, which invested in ripple.

Our pitch to these exchanges should be that clients can create their own ETPs, thereby allowing these exchanges to capture a larger share of the OTC markets and position themselves for changes in regulatory guidance such as MiFID II which will restrict OTC trading in the future.

I am 100% with you. We all need to step our game up and let them know.

It says nothing about using Bitcoins blockchain. It says they are going to use tech behind it. Who knows what they are cookin up

"Earlier this year, Nasdaq joined a clutch of companies seeking to adapt blockchain for mainstream finance, saying it would “leverage blockchain technology as part of an enterprise-wide initiative.”
“We also plan to announce further blockchain initiatives in the future,” Greifeld said Thursday during a conference call with analysts. “The application of blockchain technology within Nasdaq’s private market aims to modernize, streamline and really secure cumbersome administrative functions,”
Last month, Symbiont, which plans to use blockchain to make it quicker and cheaper to transfer assets between buyers and sellers, raised $1.25 million from financial industry heavyweights including former New York Stock Exchange chief Duncan Niederauer, former Citadel LLC executive Matt Andresen, and two co-founders of high-frequency trading firm Getco LLC, Dan Tierney and Stephen Schuler."

Imo we have the potential to already be at number 2 on CMC people just dont see it yet. Im sure if they are in talks with a big bank then they can get in touch with who they need to. The devs seem very intelligent. Only thing im wondering is if the Nasdaq does create its own blockchain that will render Bitshares useless correct?
