General Discussion / It is official - bitBTC is now more worth then BTC !
« on: February 18, 2015, 11:04:28 pm »
just take a look metaexchange.info

So our beta phase is running so far without bigger problems and Paul already added some more features like

- directly open your client to send the needed transfer order to your client - so for anyone who is lazy, no more copy and paste!

We are also adding more and more funds to run the service and are looking forward to open the next pairs. Our goal is and will be - the lowest fees and the tightest spreads for the BitShares community.

Anyone who needs BTC and has some bitBTC left, just exchange it right now!

So everybody!

metaexchange.info is still increasing the transfervolumen and Paul is working to add more bitAssets, but what we are missing is a good logo :D

So we would like to offer a Logobounty of 50 bitUSD for the winner.

So i don't know monsteres and my style, so just start and we will try to choose the most promising ones and will hopefully get the best one.

Choose your weapon and give our Logo a try.

General Discussion / Metaexchange want to create a faucet
« on: February 06, 2015, 11:14:43 pm »
Is it possible that we ( metaexchange.info ) can create a faucet, that will be added into the client?

We want to spend the earned fees in the future back into the community and get publicity for the new service we are creating.

What steps are needed to do it?

65
to issue new assets like "BTC" or "USD" you need 500.000 BTS

so i like to the a couple of crypto coins like LTC, DOGE, Ripple, Darkcoin, Nxt on our internal exchange.

the question is how will this happen? i am assuming no one will issue this assets, because no one will profit from issuing it. how can we do it? Would be a hardfork needed to
integrate them without fees?

so if this is not solved i would like to see a solution maybe the delegates can vote for new pegged assets without the fees.

I am curious why so many 100% delegate don't provide feeds. Without feeds our decentralized exchange will not operate, so it is a really important task.

So why do this 100% delegates don't provide feeds?

why are so many core developer in this group?

General Discussion / Decentraliced Dice Game is a awsome idea!
« on: January 30, 2015, 11:16:37 pm »
I just heard the new mumble hangout and it is really funny. It seems everyone is concerned about legal stuff. So if you US goverment is Blockchain technology is branding as illegal you are stoping to use BitShares?

So this said i like the idear in general but i don't get Satoshi Dice at all. What do you do on this kind of site? It looks not fun in my opinion.

I am thinking about this game a lot and it would be great to see something similar in our client.

first: we all like competition, so i want to have a competitive game
second: we all like to win money!
third: i hate to much luck

so i propose this game idea here and would like if bytemaster and co will include it into the client

- The delegates will produce random numbers
- the game will start with a small jackpot of, lets say 10 bitUSD
- if i want to play i have to spend .10 bitUSD or so

- one game will run for 1 day
- in this day all paid fees will add to the jackpot

so the setup of the game is this:

- the delegates produce random numbers
- lets say 84, 11 , 22
- i have to play 10 rounds
- every round i get 2 numbers and one is lost - at the same time i get "+" or "-"  or "/" or "*" from the delegates as well
- my goal is to connect the numbers and the +,-,*,/ in a way in 10 rounds that the end number is as high as possible
- i will get in the highscore and the first 30% of the highscore will get the money

this is only a rough idea, but we could implement games who are not depends on luck only and in most restrictions this is legal.

Bitsharesblocks.com now shows the yield for every bitAsset class.

I am not sure how this is calculated. As far as i know i get more yield if i hold my 1 bitUSD for a year, compared to someone who holds it just a day.

Is this still right? If yes, i would like to discusss, why we do this and not make the yield the same for every day? In my opinion it makes no sense and complicates the message to the
masses

I am a big fan of "keep it simple and stupid" and in this case we should make it as easy as possible. So if the yield in bitsharesblocks.com shows 1% it is the yield i can assume i get for a year and shouldn't depend how long i holded the bitAsset.

General Discussion / Are returning payments in protocol 1.0 included?
« on: January 09, 2015, 06:14:49 pm »
In the past it was often discussed about the possibility to take the opportunity to make recurring payments available.

maybe something like that

i broadcast to the blockchain that i will pay x bitUSD every 15th in a month to merchant Alice as long i don't broadcast a chancel message

with this ability we could go to the recurring merchant sides. As long as i know, no other crypto tackles this huge market.

General Discussion / Bytemasters Blog
« on: January 08, 2015, 09:54:18 pm »
I like the new way you are taken Dan.

What do you think to make it for visitors easier to contact you?

http://antonopoulos.com/

under contact i think he do a great job to get invites.

How do you handle your own safety?

I only know Bytemaster who controls millions of BTS - how is he handling his own safety?

I think it is now a good time to talk and improve our own safety.

What do i do?

I use 2 accounts on 2 different computers, but i am total aware, that one machine is compromised i will or could loose all BitShares stored on this wallet. So this is really a big concern, also seen on the voting absence.

How will we make it saver in the future?

General Discussion / Bank for anybody
« on: January 04, 2015, 09:11:11 pm »
I am a huge fan of Guy Kawasaki and i tried to think about some suggestions he give for startups

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mtjatz9r-Vc

1. make meaning

examples:

Company                                             Meaning

Apple         wanted to democraties     Computer
Google       wanted to democraties     Information
ebay           wanted to democraties     Commerce

BitShares   want to democraties         Banking

2. Make a Mantra with 2 or 3 words

examples

Company                  Mantra

Nike                          Authentic athletic performance
FedEx                       Peace of mind

BitShares                 Banking anybody

General Discussion / Stop to complain and do something on your own
« on: January 03, 2015, 07:20:13 pm »
it seems to me that more people are starting to complain and want to discuss any point in history of bitshares.

i suggest that all of you ask yourself -

WHAT DID I DO TODAY TO INCREASE THE VALUE OF BITSHARES?

and don't give me excuses

Here are some steps

1. bring one person into BTS ecosystem. If we discount our 30.000 accounts 3 times we can assume 10.000 people have accounts. If we can do it every 3 month we will have at the end of the year 160.000 unic people or something like 480.000 accounts
2. create posts or comments on blogs or youtube videos
3. tweet
4. facebook
.... etc. etc.

so take OUR future in your own hands and stop complaining and do something.
