toxic? could you say something more?

Come on. Let him have an opinion. After all, this is HIS project.

If giving up his whole stake (mistake imo) for some complicated distribution scheme was not enough. Now he cannot even name it as he feels is better.

i don't care about the name. but i don't understand to throw something away, what will be in the future a really big asset for the bitshares chain family aca ecosystem. if i wouldn't believe this "fact" why would i care? toast self called it all the time DNS here at this snapshot the last time. i don't get it how you can start a snapshot and no name is ready or decided on. we should fix this asap. our big disadvantage against everyone else is all the time the difficult structure about who will honor and succed who and this "name" issue will not help at all.

I would like to avoid "BitShares" in the name.

why? would be good to have it. if bitshares will be big in the future, it will be a big advantage to have bitshares in the official name.

IMO the bitshares brand is currently toxic and I think DNS will help it more than bitshares will help DNS.

toxic? could you say something more?

my feeling is, nobody nows about this project or is waiting for the market function to be implimented in bitsharesX. would be like to say i don't want to take the surname of my parents it has a bad reputation at my neighborhood

don't expect to much from bitcoin magazine. many of them have conflict of interest with bishares vs. ethereum

- just my 5 cent and i don't have insight

Think of it as an upfront allocation that is slowly paid out over time to the developers so that the developers cannot dump

think of it as an upfront application for the community retains the right to change developers rather than mean committed to oneself developers

There is a hardcoded limit just like bitcoin.

Think of it as allocated to the developer and the developer decides to give it to a delegate.

Think of the initial delicates as a development team.

If investors invest according to the total share supply at the end of the day then there is no dilution for them.

There is nothing unpredictable other than the fact that there might be less dilution then they expect

Think of it as investors have an opportunity to direct the development team by buying in And making a change this in turn gives the investors an opportunity to increase their ROI.

i like your thinking and it would be much better if it would be communicated like this. More people would understand this. Problem is and was always the same. Before the community has been asked of their opionen of allocation and then it is a total different model. No offense here, but the communication was again poorly and should addressed better in the future. You want a successful chain from the start, then you need the majority of "believers" behind your project.

they have, but maybe you want to go for more delegates in the new chains, so it would be easier for well known people in the community to do it.

PTS will probably see another fall off in value after these snapshots.... this will impact mining.   We should plan ahead for this.

no suprise here.

@toast
do you have a timeline for all 3 options?

General Discussion / What do you think about press articles here?
« on: August 03, 2014, 07:03:01 pm »
I found

http://thebitcoinnews.co.uk/product/press-release-publication-on-the-bitcoin-news-network/

0.45 BTC or 30.000 BTSX to publish article on all 6 sides. Do anyone know them? Any experience in the past?
Maybe Brian can talk with them and get some better offer for a little bit of btsx equity from the I3 holding. They flood Twitter with news and maybe this is excactly what we need now.

it would be nice to see how is the ratio

shares vs. accounts

100.000.000 vs. 500 average of 200.000 shares each account

advantages?
1. people can see if some big "whales" are backing some delegates and will probably help the smaller ones to vote for them
