do we need a token for this, or is is enough to send a transaction with a memofield?

in general i think it is a better idea, to get people to vote. I would only send the reminder to active accounts, makes no sense to
waste effort to people who are not even aware of it.

i would suggest, we could create a thread who everything is explained

1. how they vote
2. why is it important to express what they want

we could incloud in the memofield this thread link and if anyone has questions we could answer them in this place.

Instead of flaming the antidilultion fraction you should look for none voting accounts and persuade to vote. If you just click randomly
on account names on cryptofresh you will see, that many account are not voting at all. This makes the community weak, because we have
members who has not said what they want.

This is a weakness in the system that we really should fix. Here is my proposal how to do it: Non-transferable BTS & BitBTS – We need to make Bitshares more resilient.

what does "nontransferable" BTS solve?

i assume we can trade them? as poloniex i just need then to trade BTS against POLO.BTS and they have them again on their accounts. For me this
is not the right direction. we are here to get more "financial freedom" but want to restrict it in parts who are not welcomed. We need other solutions.

Any chance of a better name for these? IMHO chance of success is limited when someone names the product after himself. Decent guy though he may be.

That's interesting... I've had this conversation before  :) If you are directing that at the Sollars and Sense/Sollywood TV brand fair enough. If you have an argument that could have convinced Walt Disney, Sam Walton, John Deere, Harvey Weinstein, Amber Crombie and Fitch, Air Jordan, Calvin Klein, Henry Ford, Jacuzzi, Ferruccio Lamborghini, and a million other successful brands derived from their real life owners to change then I actually want to hear it.

And that is not even close to 1/5th of the list. We will be fine  :)

The consensus among most business experts is that if you name it after yourself and you're not a celebrity, you're going to have to spend more on marketing. If it's a product that needs explaining already, then it creates more work and expense for you. If I were seeing something new and unusual on Kickstarter, on the fence trying to decide if it's legit enough to jump in, and then I notice the guy used his own name for the product, that would be it. It would turn me off; I'd run for the hills. If you're an industrial magnate, railroad baron, swanky designer, or NBA superstar, then I see the value, but very few businesses in the latter 20th or early 21st century have gotten away with this. This is new money and I think you're going to have to work harder on it than you would if you just picked a humble, descriptive product name with less hubris.

where can i found this?

if i read it correct. If i name my project "SHENTIST" and not "ALGAMANDA" i will have spend more on marketing, because SHENTIST is my name and ALAGAMANDA is not?

Makes no $ense!

The question should be, makes it $ense to call it SOLLARS? You need a easy to remember name and SOLLARS fits in this creteria.

Your worry about not being able to access your assets is completely unreasonable and unfounded, all we're talking about here is limiting the default market pairs as well as the gateway providers.

i compared to the MAKER wallet and in their wallet i cannot recieve or send other tokens as MKR, DAI and OPEN assets, because this functions are not included at all.

Not sure what you mean by that.

in the maker wallet i cannot recieve or send BTS

Through an integrated gateway no, they decided to limit the gateways. But as far as I can tell the Transfer function is unchanged, and if you have BTS in your account you will be able to use it however you like.

ah, ok. then i missunderstand the "send" button. It shows no options, because i have no funds in this wallet. ok, my bad. then it is everything fine. speaks nothing with the default pairs to be some chosen pairs. maybe you can look some post above i made suggestions how we could maybe make different pairs clearer.

i personally think the prefixes has to been in the wallet displayed and when you make it METAEX.BTC and different colors like suggested could also help.

Yunbi is an exchange. This is unethical and backhanded. If someone has a dissenting view, then they should fork it.

i don't like it neither, but this is the weakness of voting, when you give away your vote. Yunbi made a clear statement ( i am not so sure
if this is clear for the average user on their exchange). It make sense to attract this faction to their exchange, because, now
they can trade BTS and not have the funds in their own wallet. So it is a clear marketing move, to make them different to polo etc.

i see nothing unethical in this behavior. we where aware of this major problem from the beginning. So to make it clear, the exchanges have
enough votingpower to make everything what they want, but this move will destroy their business  basis.

I'll be making the asset names clickable in the next update so you can keep the full names if you prefer. It was a change requested by the Maker team and it made sense to me to apply it for Openledger as well. I doubt there are many people actually trading the EUR:EUR* pairs etc but I can understand that it's confusing for those few of you who do, but having a whole mess of UIAs makes little sense to newcomers so the more it looks like the actual asset the better imo.

In the end I reckon we should remove all non-OPEN assets from Openledger (default pairs) and even the bridges and gateways. They'll all be available in the light client but Openledger should prioritize their own assets in their hosted wallet.
Right, you can always count on members of this community to overreact and proclaim gloom and doom at the slightest thing... :(

My suggestions for openledger were just that, suggestions! Yes I said "we" but that doesn't mean I would do it myself, nor that it absolutely will be done. You may notice that I never made any commits to the OL repo, that's handled by Valentine.. You can't deny that it would make sense for Openledger to prioritize their own offerings though?? In the end it's up to Ronny to decide that though.

There's also a wallet at bitshares.org/wallet which should remain a standard wallet offering the full complexity and all gateway providers, same for the light client. Again, suggestions, not a roadmap...

Sometimes I wonder why I bother tbh..

@svk

if you read your original post carefully and assume that you don't know how things are working in the "innercircle" you have to admit, that your post left the
impression, that you directly decide about the features. From this perspective it is a major statement.

I am worried i woke one day up and i can't access anymore my assets, because someone decided to do something, without public discussion.

So my quesion is not answered "where can i find the discussion about removing the Prefixes for UIAs in the wallet?" After your post i assume there is
not such a discussion and this leads me to some major points here.

We have a committe who votes on fees etc. but we just pay for the development of a wallet, but in the end the community has nothing to say what should
be done or not done in the official repo. This is something to discuss. I personal have the feeling that most of the developers are not using the webwallet on
a daily basis for trading.

At the moment Openledger is treated as BitShares, so if the strategy of the Openledger is changing i see no reason why every major button on bitshares.org leads to
the openledger wallet and not to a wallet hosted by the community.

cheers

if this is planed, pls remove openledger as the default wallet on the offical website.

Thank you for this clear easy to understand update on METAFEES.

I appreciate it enormously.

Thanks for the feedback. Let me know if you want more information in the future.

Buyback March 2016:

http://cryptofresh.com/tx/b6ebec034dd8b16578ce8aeaad8aa8bbefaaf732

we bought 11.92 METAFEES for 0.5363 METAEX.BTC and will burn them the next days. The total supply for METAFEES will be going down from 5403 to 5391.08 METAFEES.
http://cryptofresh.com/a/METAFEES

key facts:

Exchangerates:

BTS : 0.00001425
ETH : 0.0278
NXT : 0.0000198

Prove of reservers:

BTS: http://cryptofresh.com/u/metaexchangebtc
ETH: https://www.etherchain.org/account/0x056507108fe6d30189eccd6cd7f4fad56eeef622
METAEX.ETH: https://www.etherchain.org/account/0x3fe1b554e8bd14e310f70db3836b5efdfe256258

For prove for BTC we have something to code, but at the moment monsterer is to busy with his paying jobs, so it will take time to do it!

Net asset value(NAV):

(if we would liquidate the METAFEEpool today)

- for holding 33 METAFEES you would get 1 Bitcoin

compared to last month this is an increase of roughly 30 %. The major key facts are the still rising Ethereum price and also a
higher price of BitShares. Please keep in mind, that the liquidity pool holds (50% BTC, 25% BTS, 20% ETH and 5% NXT) and for this
reason will fluctuate in the future.

Total Transfers on MetaExchange.info in March : 483 Transactions

A major revenue stream since the last 2 month are BTS, ETH pair and our METAEX.BTC UIA asset on the internal BitShares exchange. For this
reason we are moving more funds into the UIA market. This means we will support also in the future the pair:

METAEX.BTC / METAEX.ETH : https://bitshares.org/wallet/#/market/METAEX.BTC_METAEX.ETH
and you will see increased liquidity for the pairs
METAEX.BTC /BTS  : https://bitshares.org/wallet/#/market/METAEX.BTC_BTS
METAEX.BTC /BTC  : https://bitshares.org/wallet/#/market/METAEX.BTC_BTC

The fees on METAEX.ETH was lowered to 0.1%, so that you want to trade on our pair METAEX.BTC / METAEX.ETH you pay an average of
0.2 % fee!

This is the buyback and Update for this month and we hope you will use us in the future, too!

cheers

i thought about is today and i realized we should maybe structure it this way:

Trading on the top nav bar should be leading to this section who is available in "Explorer" "Assets"

and this section should not be available via alphabetical, but how many trades are happen and how many user are holding the assets.

with this each section is clear structured. if i choose a SMARTCOIN asset i am in the section i want to trade SMARTCOINS etc.

we should think about to give colors to each section so that is clear where i am, like SMARTCOINS : blue, UIA: GREEN, PREDICTIONMARKETS: YELLOW

what should also available ist a button in the trading section who i get to this page for each asset : https://bitshares.org/wallet/#/asset/USD
so informations on the trading section to this pairs.

General Discussion / New structure for some forum sections
« on: March 31, 2016, 05:18:57 pm »
i just watched the video from nathan with amanda on the daily decrypt

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENxBmyswSuo

and i think, this is a format we should better support on the forum.

we should make forum sections, who are better suited to find information about our wallet.

for example:

we do not need a section "Trading & Speculation"
lets push every external content to "otherCoins" Trading or so and
create a section for the wallet coins we have

Sections "Markets on Bitshares
a) Smartcoin Markets
b) User Issued Markets
c) Prediction Markets

in each section we need a sticky with explainations and links to information available on youtube or blogs etc.

i saw "jonny" created a interesting prediction market "MILLLIONTDD"
value 1 = total 1 million views by July 1st
OR
value 0 = total less than 1 million views by July 1st

with this precition market it would be great if the community can focus on this market and maybe Amanda can talk on a weekly basis how the bet is going. She could her community to help to win the bet (maybe we can sponsor some BTS to give her some onf MILLIONTDD) and for us it could be a nice MVP product to get more feedback.

the core point of my writing is, we should think about ways to make our forum better suited to find information for the wallet easier and faster.

who had this "great" idea to label all assets with a STAR ?

my feedback on this. it will not help the users to understand the difference in 4 BTC* . i would like to know, where i can find,
on which place this was discussed? Lately it seems it is not enough to follow the forum to be aware of this changes.

i think it would much better to make first mockups and ask for feedback and not change something you think it is good.

as a daily user of the wallet, this helps me 0 and makes my life not 1 once easier in the wallet. I think it has the opposite effect.
this is not a step forward!

at the moment i have no solution, but it is not better then before and in fact, makes my daily trading not easier.
