General Discussion / Re: Bitshares price discussion
« on: November 09, 2015, 11:21:20 am »
I am leaving for now. I still am unable to think straight and I don't think I will ever recover from this. Keep the prices low, maybe I will be able to raise a  few BTCs and get some BTS in the next 2-3 months.

Good luck, and DON'T margin trade. I was advising people on Bitcointalk not to do so but by that time I was already stuck and was unable to get out of it. In hindsight should've taken a loss and exited then and saved the rest.

Using BTS as collateral is a very bad idea. If you have BTC, buy BTS outright but dont get tempted to get more by putting those BTS in collateral.

Learn from someone who lost everything by doing that.

Before you take my advice, consider that I have lost 80% of my bts in Polo margin long trading so apparently I am not the best person to advise you here..

How are you coping? I lost all there (my own fault) and I am unable to think straight. All I was thinking today was that if could have at least held onto 1 BTC instead of putting it in collateral I could have bought almost 200 000 BTS today which would have been something.

Bought millions with tens of BTCs earlier and now looking around and seeing not a single BTC left.

Still in shock at what happened, the single worst moment in my life.

Please hold the price here. Maybe in the next few months I will be able to earn some Bitcoins and will buy some Bitshares. I dont even want to imagine seeing Bitshares eventually becoming successful and me having to cope with my mistake.

General Discussion / Re: If you are a Brownie holder

I have Brownies, the only crypto left with me. I hope they become worth 10000 BTS each.

I didn't receive the last few hangout brownies as my address changed to bts-habeler876, though I haven't transferred it yet.

Got totally destroyed. I know its my own fault but I had bought all the BTS I can, and then used them as collateral to buy more. In the last few days I was trying to raise anything possible to save it, even sold my Bitcointalk account, but it ended today.

Over 2 years in cryptocurrency and I have almost nothing in crypto left (even bitcointalk acccount). I have got a few brownie.pts in my old account (bts-habeler876) which I haven't upgraded yet (I was using GUI backup from 0.9.3 which apparently doesn't work but I haven't tried yet).

All the best guys, and maybe I will be able to earn some BTC and then buy BTS later. I know it will eventually be great but then I don't know how will I react knowing I could've had millions of those instead of 0. But I am gutted right now and can't think of anything as it seems over 2 years got wasted. Yes, I am fully responsible, I was warned so not blaming anyone else.

General Discussion / Re: How can we help BTC38? eg. falling price
« on: October 24, 2015, 04:15:37 pm »
Apparently an issue might be that they don't have all the BTS they're supposed too.

titan account will lost privacy protect  when upgrade to v2.0.
btc38 claim they have 363,130,741.49991 BTS, but  there are only 228,449,248 BTS in their cold wallet. they refuse to public all reserve because they say it's not security.
guess what will happen at BTC38 when upgrade to v2.0?

That makes no sense. If they are short they would have been buying big and that would have held up the prices. They can not expect to ride it out for ever, sooner or later they will have to add BTS and they know that.

General Discussion / Re: Let's Lower Trading Fee
« on: October 22, 2015, 03:37:34 pm »
It can be debated what should be and that this should be used over centralised exchanges but in the end it is not working. The markets are dead and the price keeps falling. Very soon it will break down catastrophically (barely 100 BTC buy support at Polo) and the internal markets will be destroyed.

I don't know whether it is possible but maybe offer 5-10 free trades a day per account. It will allow for all those who want to try it out.

Make it 0, so that we can claim 0 trading fee which is good advertisement.

Setting orders don't need spam protection.
It shouldn't be 0. We still need spam protection. I would like to say 1 BTS (for non-lifetime members)

Why do you need spam protection if someone is putting up an order? The more orders being put up the better. Instead the client can enforce a min order amount.

I may need to set and cancel 10 times depending on market conditions before executing a trade, especially as there is no action there.

Big exchahges had started with 0 fees to get volume. Somehow BTS expects it will win by making it expensive and having no users.

mindphlux was selling and boasting about it. There were a couple of others too but I forget their names.

Islandking if you are going to buy back in, now is the time, while the shorts are suppressing it hard on polo, and 1400 area is the right price.

40 BTC till 1440. I wish I had the money.

Anyone wishing to buy take it in one buy as they will go otherwise.

Massive amount of shorting going on right now.

They'll have to cover later.

Before that happens there is a real chance that the buy support may collapse totally due to forced liquidations. I wonder what the effect on the internal market will be, it may severely cripple it.

Well,

 :) ;) :)
Your price fudding worked! What price did you buy back in again?

It would be funny if he is on margin and get wiped out by the thin order book.

There is a real chance that the network can get screwed permanently if there is a cascade of margin calls and price falls to close to 0 which is very possible. That is if I understand bitassets correctly which I may not considering no one else seems to be worried.

Technical Support / Re: Margin Call Price
« on: October 17, 2015, 10:15:14 pm »
I hope there is some kind of protection built in like averaging if the price feed is using only poloniex. The buy support there is very thin and it can get wiped out at any moment. Even if someone with a big long panics and closes the margin it will cascade and drop BTS to almost 0.
