General Discussion / Re: MakerX - new bitshares frontend in town

I love it even more!

- Removed all unnecessary stuff
- even removed confusing account number below account-name (people think that account number is their address)
- Deposits/Withdraw moved to the top

I you want to be perfect... just add information to "Send" form, that "memo" is optional ;)

YEAH. And this is just simple example how good implementation of 3rd party exchange based on bitshares should look like.

I mean... MKR:BTC for a consumer is much simpler than MKR_OPEN.BTC. Poloniex do not show POLO. prefix infront of all coins.

I think this is a good direction.  IMO http://bitshares.OpenLedger.info/ should hide all non OPEN.* coins .... and all coins (OPEN.*, TRADE.*, and all bitAssets) should be available only on http://bitshares.org/wallet

TL;DR;

at openledger - simple wallet for newbies
at bitshares.org/wallet - wallet for power users

I suggest to not use names bitUSD and bitCNY (in dropdowns). Those smartcoins are available in wallet as USD and CNY. Do not confuse people even more.

19
To be honest... I think BIT20 is a great idea... personally I think i has to growth. The problem is, that if all people will think that, no one will short bit20. In my opinion DOPS will be great speculative market for LISK! :)

21
I would like to see other smartcoins like this:

POW10 for 10 most valued pure Proof of Work coins
POS10  for 10 most valued pure Proof of Stake coins
DPOS3 - how many DPOS coins we have? 3 - Bitshares, Muse, Lisk or more?

IMO DPOS3 would be awesome. That would be a way of trading a Lisk before anyone else :) That also would be a great promotion for BTS and MUSE :)

22
Not a bad idea really:

1. Everyone here pledge some of Lisk (that we will be compensated for at the average selling price when Lisk becomes liquid).
2. Someone (call him the Orchestrator), creates a UIA from the total pool and builds a market in bitUSD like this:

1000 bitLisk at 0.10 bitUSD each
2000 bitLisk at 0.15 bitUSD each
3000 bitLisk at 0.20 bitUSD each
4000 bitLisk at 0.25 bitUSD each
etc.

IMO this cannot work. What if all coins will be sold instantly in the beginning? If you cannot prove that you posses something, you should not be able to sell it.

Of course we can create bitLisk... and you can create new bitLisk with BTS as collateral... but I guess, at the beginning there will be not to many shorters.

I mentioned about big number of communication channels here: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=21637.0

Right now I agree, that because bitshares is decentralize project its good to have multiple options, but let's face the truth. No one use forum's chat. NO ONE.

If someone approach bitshares by visiting forum first, and then try to find someone to talk about bitshares... on this chat, then bitshares looks like long dead project. We should remove things which harms bitshares.

Some time ago I wrote a post about dilution in communication channels - https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=21637.0

I had a feeling, that we should have better tool for work (personally I like slack, but it doesn't metter)

And then @xeroc respond me:

Quote
How could we possible create a decentralized ecosystem if we have a centralized gathering point that has had outages already?
Can you guys remember what happend when bitcointalk went down?

I don't think it is a bad idea to have multiple communication channels .. every new user can pick whatevery they like most ..

And I think, this is true. This is decentralize project with a lot of aspects. Tool which can be good for talking about marketing can be terrible to talk about code, etc. I think we should change perspective. Instead trying to figure out what is the best for whole community, try to find what is the best tool to my team. In general I think, we should focus about teams.

It is very difficult to perform any serious job when you are just one. Projects like Bitshares require a lot of time and effort to even understand a basics. This is can be very overwhelming when you are working alone. I think we should try to build our community from the bottom. Choose a people who would like take some kind of leadership, and allow them looking on project from higher perspective.

Bitshares project from technology point of view is decentralized... but right now I fell that our community is distributed.

I know that this post become a off topic, so to summary my thoughts: sure... Basecamp can be used for one team, but I don't see a reason why this should become a tool for managing whole project.

I guess it is to be expected that we would retrace.  We went up far further than I expected far faster than I expected.  How long do you all think we are going to slip back down?

Going up a significant % along with massive volume is great even if this retreats.  It should open the eyes to those who put off BTS.

It is even better because this still gives a chance to buy below price which later can be easily reached. Nobody want to buy when price is ATH or highest since months.

right now people are hope, that then will have a chance to buy cheap BTS at 1600. If that is the new bottom for next month, I can live with that ;)
