Sorry, but OP proposal is a piece of shit.

I think it's possible to implement a mechanism that only minimum required collateral is sold

This is how it should work. It is a simple math, damn it! And remove short squeeze protection to prevent global settlements.

General Discussion / Re: Privacy-first Bitshares fork?

Forking bitshares at this point is a waste of time. There are better protocols than graphene to build blockchain on top of out there, and more coming up.

General Discussion / Re: Smart Coins - Where are we headed?

With the recent hack of coincheck is there any reason not to issue additional bitASSETS beyond bitBTC?

There are reasons to issue them, but creating an asset is not enough to make it useful. Look at bitBTC. This asset makes a perfect sense, but liquidity ...

There is no need for short squeeze protection imo. When a margin call happens, the system should take all orders up to a limit defined by collateral.
As the name implies, the short squeeze protection is to protect shorters for overpaying in low-liquidity markets.

Why to do this? Shorters deposit collateral to protect bitAssets. If a shorter can't maintain his collateral, use it all to buy back his debt. What's a problem with this?

It has 30 sec timeout hard coded. So you better retrieve your history in chunks, which can be processed in less than 30 sec.

Technical Support / Re: Limit vs Market orders

You can place market orders and limit orders, and they get automatically matched. Try it, it is easy.

They will blame us regardless, if public bot exists or not. Public bot is a very good idea. Btsbots proved it.
