This seems like a horrible idea. Let the markets evolve naturally. Spend money on quality development or just put it in the bank. We can start to reduce the supply and thus increase the value which will entice more people to the environment and grow bitshares further. Artificially affecting the beautiful decentralized markets seem contra to the ideas of the community.

Why's all the +5% signs broken??

okay! cool. I think we should raise the price to issue a new asset because people keep sending me random tokens and it's actually a little bit annoying. I'll go to that website and try to ask them to do it.

:o :o  super cool! Don't give your private keys to a robot kids, but, you can check out the blockchain, accounts, spreads, prices all you want. Now I kinda want a google home. Voice activated trades on the blockchain, that wont happen for a while.

General Discussion / bitOIL?

How possible would it be to start doing price feeds for this asset? I think it was always in the BitShares plan to have a decentralized oil asset. Some investors would be intrigued by this and would put more BTS into contracts.

Assuming that the BBF applied for that hackathon, what reasons would there be for Binance to
not fork the BitShares Code and instead use the existing blockchain?

* forking is not trivial
* skilled and experienced (!) developers are hard to find
* we have an existing ecosystem (community, users) that can't be forked so easily
* BTS already has value, development of codebase basically pays for itself

IMO we have much to gain and little to lose from applying.
Pshaw! They should be so lucky as to use the BitShares blockchain. Sure! Put another exchange on the BitShares blockchain. Has anyone entered BitShares in this? Wtf is even binance? Sounds silly.

Ugh understanding bitshares economics is hard. And then it's up to the stakeholders to vote correctly. We need to be smart and we need to have good explanations.

Any ideas on this?

I like the current name.

This bitcoin boom is silly. When bitcoin falls will BTS fall? I'm always debating the link between BTS, BTC, and ETH. Sometimes they move opposite, which I think is likely in the future. The bitcoin share of the total market cap is very high. Remember when "the flippening" was going to happen? eventually it will happen.

What's a good new entry price for BTS?

I'm always confused by the shorting process on BTS. I know how it usually works (after lots of study) but the special case of the black swan is beyond me. I don't really care and I'm sure that the Austrian economics pros are on the ball here.

Could you explain how this is better or different from the previous arrangement?

I dig it! Glad the Explorer tab is back up on the top. That's where it should be, that page has always been awesome. I remember when it was about .1 transactions per second and now we're cracking 4-5.... more than bitcoin! haha

Yeah... IOTA sounds a little scammy to me. We'll see how they go. Of course OpenLedger can issue an asset open.IOTA but a bitIOTA is assuming a lot. Very doubtful people want to securely store their wealth in IOTA.

Why not use bitUSD or bitBTC as the tipping mechanism? I like the idea! Maybe everyone could set up their own dirty cam and get tipped or have a paywall to view and then your Steemycam could take 10% or something.

back to normal (almost)

Really hard to say what's normal anymore... The last year has been insane. Anyone remember when "normal" was 40c or .003c? I think we're still well in the price-discovery phase. Very few people have actually figured out how useful BTS is. All coins are a company but BTS has a useful product which is very rare.
