Oh super, I didn't catch that. Where was this already clarified?

Sharecropping sure got easier in the modern day lol.

DAC PLAY / Re: Blockchain forked?

Sorry... that was both rude and corny. Atrocious. I hope someone who knows finds that post and you figure it out.

maybe they're just "play"ing with you?

Hi @ccekd, @ccedk_pro, Ronnie,

Hokay. If sharedropping wins the vote, we better not see any of the profit going to the accounts "obits" or "ccedkbts" or "ccedk-cold" or related accounts. The OBITS in those accounts should not be calculated as part of the total. right?

That would be outrageous. PLEASE ASSURE US that trying to change this thing to sharedropping is not a scam.

Thanks in advance.

General Discussion / Re: How do I vote?
« on: October 01, 2016, 06:42:17 pm »
I know it is here somewhere. I have been looking for a while and couldn't find where to  vote for projects. Is it cryptofresh? And does anyone need help with a project? I would like to play more of a part in the community.

Hi Contour! Welcome to the community. Voting is important! Bitshares on-chain voting is one of the main features that sets it apart from any other cryptocurrency. Democracy amongst a sea of oligarchy and plutocracy.
There were the kingdoms of old, fighting eachother for land and resources, but democracy eventually wins out. :)

You can vote through a proxy like I do or vote on every issue as an individual.

You can vote for:
witnesses who produce blocks
committee members who control the fees and blockchain characteristics
workers who contribute new features, media, products or anything we want done

General Discussion / Re: Cryptofresh API

A block explorer doesn't seem like an awfully complex thing. The code for cryptofresh is public, right? We can just put up a duplicate called supafresh or something. Maybe we stick some ads on the site to help pay for it, or have a small worker that keeps it running. If the worker gets defunded the website shuts down. How much does keeping a website online cost? How do other coins without UIAs and workers get sometimes 3 separate block explorers?

At least we do still have the bitshares wallet explorer. You can see all the blocks here:  https://bitshares.openledger.info/#/block/9000055

Although it looks now like cryptofresh is working!! Who knows for how long. But whatever! celebrate! We have reported volume on bitUSD and bitCNY for the first time in awhile and we just passed block 10 million. Thumbs up to a bright future for Bitshares.

Okay... Distributing BTS and BTC is great. In the previous vote I think the intention was to distribute more OBITS?

Does my share of OBITS include those that are on open orders?

Cryptofresh is broken. Now it's not registering any activity or volume. What's going on? Can someone start a worker to create a new blockchain explorer?
I've been checking out the cryptofresh code on github to start doing it and downloading the graphene packages but I need help if I'm going to try to create a blockchain explorer.
@svk would it be possible to make a web page out of just the "explorer" part of the bitshares wallet? Maybe have some API calls that CMC could use to get the volume and price?
I don't know what it will take to get this fixed but I know that projects built on bitshares like blockpay need a solid blockchain explorer. @kenCode

PM me if you know how to get hold of @roadscape, if you want to start a worker to create a new blockchain explorer, or if you want to help me create one. I don't know how to program well but I can do python and I'd love to learn. Lets get going on this.

Technical Support / Re: no balance shown in bitshares 2.0 wallet?
« on: September 30, 2016, 02:15:06 pm »
This happened a YEAR ago. What is your BTS account name? You should be able to use the OpenLedger or wallet explorer to see what your balance is.

Random Discussion / Re: Compuceeds Buy Support is Coming
« on: September 18, 2016, 03:31:05 pm »
The Compumatrix Bitcoin Cashout BETA test is going through, some of which will be used for Compuceeds buy support. So the price is about to go up.

this is why we have a trollbox now. :J)

Interesting debate. It's hugely unlikely any committee would activate these permissions and perhaps the committee having the nuclear options will encourage more people to vote or at least use someone they trust as a proxy.

I guess the USD is over as the worlds reserve currency. Probably for the best as fiat currency is on its last legs. Of course bitUSD has seen a modest rise in supply but....

The supply of (and demand for) bitCNY has QUINTUPLED (5x) since the beginning of this year. This is a great sign for bitshares as it shows more people are trusting the seemingly complicated but actually genius and robust collateral system.
It's especially great news because now $800,000 (5.3m CNY) worth of BTS is collateralising bitCNY.

If this trend continues + Nov. 5 super-halving hype + Blockpay...

If people start believing that the price of BTS is going to rise... it'll boom.

It's just really really annoying that the largest CNY market for bitshares (the DEX) is not displayed on coinmarketcap.com because our block explorer is slightly broken. That's almost $3,000 in volume (on a slow day) that could hugely bump the DEX in the exchanges rankings and bitshares in the volume rankings. Plus it's embarrassing to have a broken block explorer. @roadscape

Yes you can. Every account that joins must have a registrar and may have a referrer.

the registrar pays a small fee to register the username on the blockchain and gets a cut of future fees. The referrer gets a bonus for sending the user to bitshares.

I'm not 100% clear on the details, but yes, once you're a lifetime member you pay significantly lower fees for all actions like creating assets and trading on the exchange (already tiny fees) and you get a referral link you can share with others.

Anyone else want to help clarify? There is probably some documentation or previous question about this, but I have never bothered enough to look it up.

I don't get it... Why everyone is talking about dumping bts after the peerplays snapshot? We are talking about 5% of peerplays allocation to bts. The amount is really just symbolic. People can buy peerplays now.

I think that the peerplay snapshot helps bts price slightly because bts are withdrawn from external exchanges and some more trading may happen in the DEX but other than that nothing more. And after the snapshot period, the worst that should happen is that people return their bts in external exchanges and trade there as they used to be.

But why dumping bts after the snapshot? That implies that the whole value of bts is only based on the value of peerplay. Are people so insane?

I'm surprised the BTS price hasn't risen more. 5% is not a symbolic or trivial amount. 5% of the  peerplays market cap means at least a 5% return for BTS holders if the market caps are equal (as they are for some reason). A lot of people are happy if they make 5% in a year!

Crypto fresh is back online but the volumes reported are still wrong. @roadscape should make a new worker! Don't get discouraged! We love you and cryptofresh is awesome.
