Muse/SoundDAC / falling off the currency list
« on: February 23, 2016, 10:15:18 pm »
Anyone noticed that MUSE is falling off the top of the currency list on sites? I just noticed it was thrown off the top of cmc lately when it use to be up in the top 30 not too long ago. Something going on we are not aware of?  :'(

« on: February 23, 2016, 10:03:02 pm »
I never did manage to sync BitShares to claim my MUSE last year. It kept stalling. Bitshares 2 is now syncing OK.

But I still have unclaimed MUSE from the presale.

I have installed MUSE wallet 1.0.160208
I have registered an account.
I have the private key from my BitCoin transaction that I bought the MUSE with.

What can I do please?
You need version 1.0.160219 I guess? New release every day!  :o

Release Notes:
Quote
Fix build error due to missing hardfork.hpp #511
Optimize some indexes #529
Those were manual fixes from months back, I do not see anything in the release notes that would address the network issues that yunbi and others are having?

Muse/SoundDAC / Re: @cob: what is the problem with (Chinese) exchanges?
« on: February 23, 2016, 08:02:35 pm »
Can you please tell us why muse is not being added to more exchanges?
Yunbi is doing "good" but there should be more liquidity already, because muse is ranked pretty well on CMC!
I would guess all the network issues since last year does not inspire a lot of confidence in a currency, the recent ones this year are equally annoying.

cob is a rubbish
That is harsh, it is not like he is the one writing the software?

metaexchange also down.... Lol

Metaexchange looks like it's up to me. What issue are you having?
Down for me too, when you go to the site it brings up an error that you have to click retry to connect to some type of openledger.info site. Yunbi for muse is totally down. Even the muse network appears to be down, my client won't connect. That might be what is messing up the exchanges.

As I already explained, he is most likely exiting the "project". When i look at augur I really hate my self for not dumping my notes at 400sat and move all the money into augur!
I looked at the augur project, it seems to be nothing more than decentralized gambling  ::)

I have to agree, there does seem to be a lot of hand waving for this. Muse appears to be centralized for starters, when I thought the whole point was to be decentralized? I see a good idea for business and musicians but I can already see a lot of issues and holes in the business idea. This idea was started back in 2014 and what is there to show for all this time and resources spent?

Seems any of the other countless digital currency out there can already do everything that Muse is struggling to even start. My main concern is too little too late for muse. I only have a small investment in muse, but I can tell that some others here have a very large investment of either time, money or both. The small number of people that participate in this forum is a good indicator that muse and peertracks and everything else seem to be basically hobby projects. I am sure Cob and all the others are working hard, but the more I read here, the more I become concerned about the outcome of this investment.

I don't blame xeroc I simply think he was honest!

No money no progress as already mentioned 1000x in these threads!

It seems like cob is the only guy chasing this rabbit not understanding that it won't work.

As an investor I feel like we need more transparency and not those empty teasers!

I still don't like the fact that cob published some fake secret sauce crap last year and removed it some minutes afterwards just to make us believe they found the holy grail!

That's not professional and will hurt the project!

http://muse.cryptofresh.com/u/btc38-muse

Will BTC38 add muse or just for distributing PTS holders?
Where do all these accounts come from that claim millions of MUSE?

Someone mentioned a faucet server in another topic that was down/rebooted, would that have any effect on price if people can not trade? Someone else taking advantage of this to make the market price higher?

So one server controls the Muse network? I thought everything was decentralized?
The network is decentralized .. the faucet however is not! The actual entry point coded into this particular hosted wallet is neither.
you can still host your own wallet/faucet if you want
That might be technically true but anyone downloading the client isn't going to know that if the client is set to only that server. Mine was not working either until someone rebooted the "api server".  In the event that this faucet server goes down, does someone here have a backup/mirror server running the same "api server" ?
Seems like what happened was an example of single point of failure if people are unable to trade?

Fixed - the API server was down for some reason.

Which site? Peertracks?

Yes
I read this a lot but never a reason why. Site doesn't work? Site is ugly? What about the site turns you off to it?

I looked at the ethereum website, https://www.ethereum.org/ you mean this site? I don't understand what it would do? Would it replace MUSE or just help someone work with it?

The allure I believe @Marky001 is referring to is the positive and verbose press Ethereum has garnered along with a developer-friendly sandbox type atmosphere around Ethereum and Javascript.
However that said although Ethereum is very popular in the Crypto community it doesn't really resonate with the target audience of Peertracks who by and large don't know or care about either project.
What Graphene provides intrinsically in terms of UIA control and network speed is a long way off in Ethereum and would need to be developed independently on top of all the other development work required by Peertracks.

Thanks for the detailed response, I was confused about the difference in features but that explained it well, so Ethereum is really customized for something else not really muse related. So I guess I have the same question already posted earlier, what is in ethereum that is so important tech wise that makes it a deal breaker if not used? Is there some details about some issues in muse that was posted here that I missed? I have been lurking here for a while, but finally got brave enough to dive into this discussion.  :D
