Technical Support / Asset Descriptions
« on: April 16, 2016, 02:21:02 am »
Why is it that if an asset has a "Short Name" set, that the full description is not displayed at all in asset details?  But if there is no "Short Name" then the full description is displayed.  I would think the asset detail page would show everything.  I don't want to have to sped 293 BTS to update an asset just to remove the Short Name thereby allowing the full description to be displayed.

Can we get the UI updated so that the asset details lists everything?

I get this same thing.  It just sits there without downloading  anything.   Does the Pi have enough RAM to run this?  My windows machine uses 1GB to run a node.

Technical Support / Vesting Period problem
« on: March 21, 2016, 06:03:29 pm »
My vesting period has not changed in several days.  In fact, it may have been weeks since I noticed it not changing.

The available balance listed on CryptoFresh looks like it is accurate.

Is there a way to "refresh" this data or is it a bug?  I am using BitShares 2.0.160314 Light

Technical Support / Re: Why annual memberships are going away
« on: March 17, 2016, 04:13:14 pm »
Unless you actually referred annual members...those referrers get screwed.

Most of the 31 annual members were either registered by OpenLedger or existed at genesis.  There are exactly four actual referrals of annual memberships, by three people.  If the community thinks reimbursing them is important, it would be possible to set up a worker to pay them manually (or make arrangements with an existing worker to do this).  One of those four annual memberships upgraded to LTM on its own, so their referrer has already been paid.  The remaining two referrers (two of the three accounts were referred by the same referrer) are:

1.2.97634 (referred annual member in block #3028579)
1.2.32176 (referred annual members 1.2.97382, 1.2.101152 who upgraded in blocks #1391978, #3255854)

I was the one who got an annual membership then upgraded to lifetime.  Looks like I should have waited and gotten it for free...

Technical Support / Re: Transfer a UIA

I don't get why you need to approve transfers then in the first place?!

I asked myself the same question, and the only reason I could come up with was because it could circumvent the market trading.  Does that really matter, probably not.  But the reason that I kept that flag was because it was set by default and that all other active assets I looked at it had that flag also.  I just assumed I was missing something.  Maybe I am not...

To be honest .. I never looked into that feature ..
But I assume it has to do with the "override_transfer" operation that is not implemented in the GUI yet ..

Or did you mean that this operation was not implemented in the testnet version?

That stinks.  I was looking to setup a UIA as a gateway between an alt currency and bitshares exchange.  Basically, user transfers alt currency to me, then I transfer UIA to them in bitshares.  The do the reverse to cash out alt currency.  That all hinges on the transfer of the asset.  Would asset owners need to use the CLI wallet to make the transfer then?

I could setup a smart coin, but I don't have much BTS to fill the initial collateral pool.  In addition, I don't quite understand how the smartcoin owner could then withdraw it from the bitshares exchange, if they can at all.

Technical Support / Transfer a UIA

If I create a UIA and set the flag that Issuer must approve transfer, how does it get approved?  I tried in the testnet, but couldn't find a way to issue a transfer for approval.
