Stakeholder Proposals / Re: Requesting price feeds for the Hertz ABA
« on: October 21, 2019, 11:42:39 am »
Several price feed publishers have acknowledged the change request & will be switching from bitUSD reference to a real USD:BTS reference in the coming weeks.

The HUG REST API has been updated, note the 25% feed difference: https://btsapi.grcnode.co.uk/home

有人愿意帮他翻译这两份文档吗,他悬赏 7500 BTS。

I wish to request Chinese translation support for the following documents:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/BTS-CM/Hertz-Whitepaper/master/hertz_whitepaper.md (except the preface section, that's part of an old steem post)
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/BTS-CM/Norns/master/about.md

2 BTS per word sound alright? So approx 7500 BTS in total for the above two documents?

Regarding the Norns whitepaper, it references deities from Norse mythology using Wikipedia references, it'd be great if relevant articles within online Chinese encyclopedias could be referenced in their place if possible?

I'm looking for price feed publishers for the Norns & hertz:
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=27749.0;all
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=26013.msg334968

Thanks
Anyone interested in the translation?
Any update on translation? I could just use google & bing translate instead, that's good enough right?

1.bitshares的宣传和营销团队在哪里?是根本不存在,还是他们隐藏的太好,以致于所有人都找不到他们呢?
Where is the bitshares promotion and marketing team? Is it not there at all, or are they hidden so well that no one can find them?

Refund400k has directly impeded paid promotion/marketing. There are volunteer efforts, but recognize that by voting for refund400k you're actively firing the individuals you're looking for.

How about if we change the rules? And instead of GS where the blockchain takes over the debt, it simply gets settled to Ana. So Ana gets 1000 BTS and all debts are wiped out.
CEX would then have to replace their held bitassets with BTS in user portfolios, no? Doesn't sound right.

The reference Hertz price feed script has now implemented an alternative USD source than bitUSD. It's just coingecko for now, I'll add multiple websites in the future.

bitshares-pricefeed-js, btsprice & zapata's fork of bitshares-pricefeed can provide accurate Hertz price feeds, just needs the correct config set 👍

The minimum quantity of price feed publishers has been reduced to 1 from 7, since we lost some price feed publishers.

This makes for a sorrow Hertz stakeholder proposal thread update, but here goes:

BSIP 76 (https://github.com/bitshares/bsips/issues/221) has now set fixed (fake) price feeds for bitUSD.

Multiple price feed scripts used bitUSD as the price feed reference, meaning Hertz has been fed inaccurate price feed values since a few days before BSIP76 WP activated (https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=29654.msg335815#msg335815).

We need to use new USD price feed reference sources, as bitUSD is no longer appropriate.

I've raised the following issues:
https://github.com/BTS-CM/scripts/issues/2
https://github.com/xeroc/bitshares-pricefeed/issues/33
https://github.com/wackou/bts_tools/issues/46
https://github.com/pch957/btsprice/pull/6
https://github.com/clockworkgr/bitshares-pricefeed-js/issues/5

Further, we've dropped below 7 price feed publishers so borrowing/settling has been inactive. I'll reduce this soon so as to re-enable these features, sorry about that.

Stakeholder Proposals / Re: [Poll] BSIP76:Set bitUSD feed threshold
« on: October 15, 2019, 04:01:55 pm »
Sapiens has a point. Bsip76 is effectively taking a Globally Traded and long term marketed as stable asset and creating an artificial difference in its price, and that is being done in order to benefit a specific group of people.

Out of the top of my head I can think of at least 5 different reasons why this can make for a legal investigation.
Fully agree: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=29659.msg336083#msg336083

The referenced Wikipedia article is quite sparse, could aid Bitshares' Wikipedia presence since BTS doesn't have a page anymore 😂

As far as I can tell, data on CMC is not reliable.

72% of volume on BTS on CMC is from CoinEgg, with fake volume.
100% of volume on bitCNY on CMC is from CoinTiger, where you can't deposit/withdraw.

I have no idea how Coingecko got that data.
0.19975 CNY/BTS : https://www.livecoinwatch.com/price/BitShares-BTS
0.20149 CNY/BTS : https://coincodex.com/crypto/bitshares/?period=7D
0.2006 CNY/BTS: https://coincheckup.com/coins/bitshares/
0.208 CNY/BTS: https://coinlib.io/coin/BTS/Bitshares
0.20152 CNY/BTS: https://coincap.io/assets/bitshares

avg: (0.19975 + 0.20149 + 0.2006 + 0.208 + 0.20152)/5 = ‭0.202272‬ CNY/BTS
avg value of 1 bitCNY: 4.54545 * 0.202272‬ = ‭0.9194172624‬ = ‭8.058% below peg

Write a BSIP.

Frankly "what you think" is irrelevant.  This project is based on a consistent process to draft, define, evaluate and implement change. In the case of BSIP76 the definition phase was not completed. The fraudulent actions of an individual actor to circumvent the accepted process has undermined this project's legitimacy.

Write a BSIP.

Would you consider the fraudulent actions of said individual actor to have constituted economic terrorism? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economic_terrorism

Quote
The term economic terrorism or financial terrorism is strictly defined to indicate an attempt at economic destabilization by a group. Economic terrorism is defined in the following terms:

Contrary to "economic warfare" which is undertaken by states against other states, "economic terrorism" would be undertaken by transnational or non-state actors. This could entail varied, coordinated and sophisticated or massive destabilizing actions in order to disrupt the economic and financial stability of a state, a group of states or a society (such as market oriented western societies or economies) or a trading exchange for ideological, monetary or religious motives.

These actions, if undertaken, may be violent or not. They could have either immediate effects or carry psychological effects which in turn have economic consequences.
Comparing the above Wikipedia definition to the fraudulent action:
  • Economic destabilization? bitCNY & bitUSD are now fed fake feeds, they're no longer stablecoins (destabilized). ✔
  • Transnational or non-state actors? ✔
  • Varied? Multiple bitassets targeted, unknown intimidation/coercion methods. ~
  • Coordinated? Intimidation/coercion of multiple targets requires coordination, especially for them to act prior to any BSIP activating. ✔
  • Sophisticated? Not really ❌
  • Disrupted the economic and financial stability of a trading exchange for monetary & idealogical motives? ✔
  • Psychological effects? Contradicts years of marketing, most MPA documentation & even the asset details. ✔
  • Economic consequences? A lack of global settlement under global settlement conditions, bitassets worth less than reference feed price, decrease in BTS value. ✔

Current BTS price in USD: 0.02858617 (Coingecko), 0.028728 (CMC).
Current USD price feed: 28.98551 BTS/USD
Current value of 1 bitUSD:
0.02858617 * 28.98551 =‭ 0.82858
0.028728 * 28.98551 = ‭0.83269

Avg % below $1: ‭16.9365‬%

I don't think the result you got is right.

The right answer is there: https://dev.bts.xyz/merchant/staff?action=recharge&asset=CNY

Your website isn't loading properly, it's displaying an indefinite spinning loading animation.

CMC shows the current BTS CNY price as 0.205061 & Coingecko say it's 0.203866, so:
4.54545 * 0.205061 = 0.93209  (6.79% below peg).
4.54545* 0.203866 = ‭0.92666 (‭7.334‬% below peg).

bitCNY/CNY conversion fee at this moment:

I'm unfamiliar with this trading exchange, but the shown rates are below my above estimates.

How long will this be active for then? It's almost been 2 weeks now.
Until MCR for bitCNY is set to 1.5.
Min. feedprice can be lowered to 0.20625 bitCNY/BTS

I very much doubt that lowering the threshhold will __ever__ happen, as long as the outside market price is lower. It would mean instant margin call for pretty much all positions.

I don't think that will happen, I don't think community will select to lower the threshold.

actually the current status is not so bad, although BTS market price is about 10% lower than 0.22CNY, bitCNY has about 4% discount, better than the 10%+ premium that we always see when MSSR=1.1.

It's more than 4% though, no? https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=29679.msg336034#msg336034

CNY feed price: 4.54545 BTS per 1 CNY (https://wallet.bitshares.org/#/asset/CNY)
1 CNY in USD (CURRENT): $0.140133 (https://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/convert/?Amount=1&From=CNY&To=USD)
1 BTS in USD (CURRENT): $0.028488 (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitshares/)
(1-((4.54545*0.028488)/0.140133))*100= 7.594%

1 CNY in USD (26th september 2019): $0.140220 (https://www.poundsterlinglive.com/best-exchange-rates/best-us-dollar-to-chinese-yuan-history)
1 BTS in USD (26th september 2019): $0.025056 (same cmc source)
(1-((4.54545*0.025056)/0.140220))*100= 18.777% (That's a deep discount, no?)

Regarding the use of BSIPs for changing the bitassets - Shouldn't it be the responsibility of the committee to communicate directly with their price feed publishers about their intended plan for bitasset price feeds? As a private smartcoin owner (creator) I wouldn't want a BSIP vote to change the feeds against my will.

Why not put change proposals (like BSIP76) to the committee (instead of the public via BSIPs) since they're the asset owner? If price feed publishers refused then the committee could simply switch from witness fed to private price feed publisher list, allowing them to refine the price feed publisher list to those willing to comply with committee decisions.

Voting on committee members based on bitasset BSIPs instead of on witnesses would avoid unnecessary witness/network instabilities, as it doesn't cost anything to be a committee member where as there are many servers & services to run as a witness.
