Yes, the same link used to sign up is where it will be available to watch again.

Give us a couple days to edit it...it was 2 hrs long so we may cut some out to make it shorter. Also, I think we may make an FAQ from all the questions people asked. Thanks for those who joined us on the call! b

Great suggestion.  We are coordinating with DAC Sun Limited on their marketing of BitSharesX and plan to have a demo style video to show users exactly how to use BitSharesX.  But as it's now in beta, it would be too soon. As soon as we make the video it would be outdated days later, due to constant updates in the way it functions and looks. The video would not fit the newer versions being released.  This is early adopter phase of BitSharesX, not mass adoption mode.

As for an explainer video on what BitSharesX is, like the bitshares.org intro video, that is being created now but won't be out till late Sept.

well, for obvious reasons, this PR is not relevant.  That's ok, we'll have to release a new one when we pass Ripple in the future. B

General Discussion / Re: Why is the focus on BitShares and not BitAssets
« on: August 28, 2014, 09:04:37 pm »
We could focus on DACs, we could focus on BitSharesX, on bitAssets or any of a half dozen other things coming out of this innovation machine, but our brand is one thing - BitShares.

Without a brand, a concept, or an idea for the public to get their mind around, you have nothing that will scale. It won't be understood or adopted.  Look at google. They have gmail, google maps, google this and google that. But they started as Google. They were so good at branding, they became a verb!

Believe me, I am as much of a believer in bitAssets as anyone (I was the first to say the phrase "bitAssets are the real Bitcoin killer") but we start with BitShares. Everything starts there.

It's not easy to give up to the minute updates on each exchange, as I can barely keep up with all the commuication from these exchanges as it is.  But I can promise that the minute one starts trading BTSX or bitUSD, it gos up on the bitshares-x.info site. We now have 6 on there and more to come! Just spoke with 3 more today. B

Thanks guys!

It's been challenging at times. I was just talking to Toast about this today in fact.  It was very difficult early on to do marketing when there is no product or service to market!  Just an idea.  Now that we have something, we're off to the races.

I lose sleep (for real) a lot of nights, with excitement about what we're working on behind the scenes here...not just me but my incredibly capable team and all of you who are working on your own pet marketing projects (thank you-you know who you are).

With that being said, be patient with me as sometimes I've made slight technical errors in the way I describe things in my interviews and talks.  Most people would hardly notice except for those who really understand how all this works. Bytemaster is quick to gently correct anything that I may have stated inaccurately and I'm quick to adjust my pitch moving forward. I often use a LOT of analogies, stories and generalizations to get the ideas across to the masses.

This whole journey with BitShares is like designing a car.  I may know nothing about fuel injection, calculating cornering loads or how the chassis bolts together, but I do know how to make people desire one and understand what it can do for them. Because after all, most people really just want to know that when they step on the gas, they're going to go somewhere and look good in the process.

I'm not going to rest until the world has heard about BitShares, they're talking about BitShares around the dinner table, and they're downloading and using our technology in their everyday life.  It's a tall order, for sure....audacious.  But we will make the world want it because we believe the world NEEDS it.

Onward and upward!

(We got it....pizzas are paid for. thanks.)

So tonight is our meetup in Blacksburg at Virginia Tech for our devs and the local members who want to learn about BitShares.  I ordered 10 pizzas from the local Dominos to feed everyone.  I was planning to go pay for them with a company card, but Dan had a suggestion  -  let's let someone on the forum buy them and we'll reimburse with bitUSD.

So who would like to call our local Dominos, pay for $44 worth of pizza and get bitUSD in return?  You need to be somewhere you can call it in and have a credit/debit card.  And it has to be done within the next hour.   Who's interested?
