I have backed up wallet in old format 0.9.1.json which doesn't seem to work with  open ledger wallet.
If anybody has any idea what to do I would be most grateful.

Aloha to all  :)

I would like to organise Bitshares lectures  in London. At first this would be lectures to Bitcoin enthusiast and later extend it to other interested parties. I am not techie myself and would not be a speaker, but would help to organise it.
If you are interested to help in any way please let me know.

General Discussion / BitUSD not on CMC - Resolved

Since yesterday BitUSD has been moved to position 312 on CMC with number of other  coins.
Does anybody knows why?

Edit:  It is back on CMC  :)

Technical Support / Problems with client v0.4.27.2 on mac / Resolved

I have just updated from v0.4.24.dmg to v0.4.27.2dmg.
Once wallet opens up it shows Last block was synced 38d 12h 53m 49s ago. Arrows at the bottom keep turning around, but everything stays the same even after 1 hour.
Please advise

My balance and transactions have disappeared after installation. If anybody know how to fix it I would be very grateful  :)

Technical Support / Problem with buying BitBTC

I have just bought some BitBTC by clicking on the first row of Sell BitBTC Orders. Amount in BTSX was - 20,001.99993 BTSX. Order was executed and I received 1.57062294 BTC or equivalent 19,999.99999 BTSX. In Open Orders there was still order for difference 20,001.99993 - 19,999.99999 = 1.99994 BTSX . I don't know why is this the case, but I canceled it and had to pay 0.5 BTSX for cancellation fee.
I would like you to know that I am not complaining about 0.5 BTSX cancelation fee as it is not much, but I think that it should not happen as I clicked on Sell BitBTC Orders and was ready to buy full amount that somebody was selling. This is not about me, but about our future users.

Technical Support / Is short matched against bids or asks

I have installed new update 0.4.15 and in Help (top right corner), Market Rules Summary, this is  in line 3)
"Short orders will only be matched against asks that are below the moving average. (ie: people must be selling BTSX for less than $0.03)"
I thought that shorts are matched against bids or buyers not against asks or sellers.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

General Discussion / Beginners section in the forum

aloha everybody, :)

We have so many sections on our forum, but we do not have beginners section. I have started earlier topic "Better communication on the forum" and after getting feedback from others I think the simplest thing would be to have Begginers section on the forum. As a beginner myself I think it is important for the beginners to have their section on the forum where they could ask simple question like "what is wallet dat, what is seed, what is Github and so on. This forum would encourage beginners with some knowledge to help other beginners with less knowledge.

General Discussion / Better communication on the forum

Would it be possible to have next to names on the forum level of  IT knowledge.
Something like beginner, intermediate and advance. So when somebody asks questions it should be easier to answer if you have an idea what is their knowledge level.
I think this would help newcomers and everybody to be more helpful.
Ratings which we have  on the forum based on the number of post does not tell you very much of someones IT knowledge.
Please let me know what you think.

General Discussion / Shorting question

Hi,

I have shorted $100 today at 33.8761.  At the moment median price is 32.7466. According to my understanding BTSX have gone up in relation to USD.
 So I thought to cash in the profit by covering my short so I bought $100  for 3119 BTSX. That would give me profit 3387.61 - 3119 = 268.61 BTSX  :)
Open Orders are showing my short, but there is not Cover button so I do not know how to proceed with Cover.
I would be very grateful if somebody could tell me where I am making mistake?

General Discussion / Can't cancel open order that is smaller than transaction fee.

I placed buy order for 1 BitBTC for 15700BTSX. After a while I received 0.99999998 BTC and 15,699.99984 BTSX was deducted.
Problem is with remaining 0.00016 BTSX which is still in open orders and it can not be cancelled as I get message that cancelation fee is higher than balance being cancelled.
You can see it in Buy Orders second from the top. It is not causing any problems for me, but just wanted to report it.  :)

General Discussion / client opened without password

After downloading 0.4.8-a my client opened without asking for password and started downloading blockchain. After a while it just turned itself off and screen appeared where I need to put in a password. I inputed a password and it opened back and finish downloading blockchain.
It is all fine now, but I thought to mention it.

Hi,

I have donated to angel shares from same Multibit  and PTS wallet before and after snapshot. It looks like I have managed to import my wallets successfully, but I am not sure what is going to happened with donation made after snap shot.
