General Discussion / Re: Cryptonomex? WTF is this?
« on: June 14, 2015, 08:00:02 am »
The devs have taken nothing from us.  They have created something new, and given us exclusive rights to use it.  Being upset because they reserve the right to license it to others in the future is a bit petty.  Believing that you deserve a portion of their new company a bit pretentious.

In regards to IP.  I am pretty sure I understand and share BM's opinion on IP.  While I find its use a little distasteful, I think I understand the reasoning.  I am not of the opinion that it is motivated by personal greed, but rather by the honest wish to protect the toolkit, and promote bitshares.

Ha! Nice pictures guys... :D

But think of this. What would you say about a banking system that only allows its products and loans to be backed by shares in itself? Why shouldn't that banking system be open to accepting any form of good collateral, as in modern finance? Who is on the horse then?

What I'm leading toward is open architecture, not promoting any specific coin or philosophy. Anyway, this conversation is a bit ahead of its time as its not really possible yet. So I'm comfortable taking the jibes for now!  ;)

I also care.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Etienne, 38 years old, father of 2. I'm a  programmer-designer and have been involved as of lately with the Bitcoin Association at Buenos Aires.
I participated in several talks at their meetups, and together with fran2k & ElMato from this forum, and many other collaborators, we are constantly pushing forward BitShares here in Buenos Aires.

I can personally atest to the ongoing non-stop coding by ElMato, so please be patient. He is on it 100%.
I can also atest to all the energy being put to gather more and more people to our bitshares meetups, to giving bitUSD's away to attendees while instructing them on platforms, wallets and other important data surrounding the bitshares phenomenon.

We are building a community and we are loving it!

Hey Ander, I'm spending ALL of my time and my own money to help BitShares in every way I can. And here you are on our forum trying to get readers to invest spare cash in a competing project?

How about putting at least a modicum of effort into promoting BTS to the world?

Yeah, I know that you are claiming that we can use profits from your "opportunity" to reinvest in bitshares in the near future - but I call bullshit. Dividing the community's attention and efforts is no way to further this project.

Are the principals on which BitShares were founded still relevant and being adhered to?  More so than ever.
Are the technological innovations represented by BitShares still relevant to the market?  More so than ever.
Is there a need to continue to innovate and evolve?  More so than ever.
Are the developers and community members (including BM) working their asses off to develop BitShares and prepare for the networking to come?  More so than ever.
Is any investor owed anything by this project in the short term?  Absolutely not and it is utterly ridiculous to suggest otherwise.

When BitShares is ready, the tiny group of parties within crypto that would like BitShares to fail will be irrelevant.

Hard work, patience and resolve.

We are proud to announce that we will be integrating metaexchange natively with the Moonstone wallet. This means that you will be able to exchange BitShares and related UIAs within the wallet with BTC.
Is this going to be "smart wallet" that Max/bitmarket has been talking about?

.. Properly, if it wants to succeed in the longer term, it need to be that BitShares is seen to be predicated on the same thoughts that make Blockchain technology work; namely, the decentralising of third part authority. If you make it more complex, then you will dilute its potential.

I think this is true. BitShares can be many things, but rather than try to encompass all that we should promote a simple takeaway - the centralization is failing, we're decentralized.
my 2 cents.

and "Power to the People" is a simple message.

eg "We build BitShares because we understand that power in the hands of the many, is better than power in the hands of the few."
