In this case I believe fluxer555 is exactly correct. However, why such a dualistic perspective, why can't it be both?

With all the money in the world, with a mature product that's possible, but until then focus on the root problem and put scarce resources to use on what will have the greatest effect. You help a few customers 1 by 1 and it helps, but if you resolve the underlying problems for all users you solve the issue for all. i.e. dealing with the root cause is the better, wiser place to spend scarce resources. The community should voluntarily handle the noobs and tech support load and let the devs fix the usability issues. I'm not opposed to allocating delegate resources to address tech support, but in due time.

I kindof see this as representative of pushing the problem off onto someone else to handle. Take responsibility for yourself and donate some of your time to help the noobs with tech support or questions. You don't need to be an expert, just share what you DO know. There's no shame in using the sentence "I don't know". Most of us have all gone thru the experience of installing a wallet, finding a way to buy BTS and getting it transferred into the wallet. Simply help newbies out by sharing your own experience in doing that, which doesn't require being deeply technical.

Remember back when you got started and try to supply some help and assurance in the same way you wanted it back then. Just help get new folks past the initial hump. If we all spent 15 minutes doing this we wouldn't need to divert critical resources away from hacking at the root of the problem.

As for answering deeper tech questions that's a bit tougher. Do what you can as Delulo says, and simply redirect them to Bytemaster's blog or elsewhere if you know a better source of info to address the questions you can't answer. BM has created a huge block of info that addresses many many issues in his blog.

I have reached out a number of times and have received no response.

It is now Chinese new year and many offices are not opening. Though bter people may not be in holiday during this hard time, all other people's business / operation slow down during this week. This also makes me believe the thief who stole 7k BTC is a Chinese or someone know Chinese culture very well.
If you have evidence for your accusation please feel free to share it, otherwise I don't like your accusation based on prejudice.

The user experience is quite bad, IMO. Even if the 0.6.1 wallet is way better, there are many annoying things. If your short is fractioned in 10 different transactions, you'll have to cover each of them manually, paying a fee for each. When one asks for a price by clicking on it, a slightly higher price is selected. You ask for 1000, you get 999.999. On my Mac, scrolling down is very buggy. Clicking on a button doesn't exactly feel like it should feel, for example the "confirming" action after putting an order should be a pop-up like thing rather than appearing where it does (and it can be easily missed). Graphs are erratic.

We need to have some user experience expert asking traders what they would need to really use the exchange.

How about they "work" on making what they already have more valuable rather than trying to suck more out of a failing system. If they have to get real jobs and work on Bitshares in their spare time, so be it. Nobody has more to gain than the Dev team. The incentive is their, they just want to eat their cake too. The productivity of the group, as it seems now, is lacking.  The supposed 1.0 launch seems to be drifting further away the more developers are added to the project.  I have a feeling if 95% of the Dev team quit today! we would see 1.0 sooner than if they all stayed on board. Meanwhile price is on a downward spiral to its all time lows at the début of BTSX when market functionality was yet to be working or proved. Good job team!  Maybe you could add 70 more developers so this project can nose dive into the graveyard and everyone here can just get on with their lives next week.  Or maybe you could go back to St Marten and find that "Great White Buffalo", or the find the killer DAC that VOTE was supposed to be,  or muster up that fellow from down under who was going to bring the Philippine remittance market, or the promised USD to BTS gateways that were coming months ago, or the infomercial (which sounds refreshing in this bleak project at this time), or you could just make up some other bullshit promise. Jesus Christ, after writing that, I can't believe I and anyone else is still involved with this. Those promises are no different than the paycoin promises.

I stop reading your nonsense at statements like the above bolded.  I'm fairly certain there are stakeholders far larger than members of the devteam.

Your basic argument is always that the developers should give away their time for free and they are greedy for not doing it.

I'm sure you have interesting things to say, but it is so smothered in your manipulative bullshit I can't even breath.
Let's be honest, you definitely read my entire comment.

What exactly am I manipulating?  Should I call an ambulance for you?

Yes, I lied.  I did read the whole thing.  Lol.  Otherwise I wouldn't have gotten that manipulative vibe.

You reach into the bag for every failed idea/old problem to make everyone involved look bad.  You chastise the developers for not working for free. (LMAO)  You have to do this, because how else can you make the project look bad ?

Some points are relevant, some aren't.  Yet at the very end you try and act like you're a supporter, and poor you.  It is just that same ol bullshit that grizzled old souls can see through. :)

This sucks.  What is the community's thoughts on me opening up a room in mumble for them for the time being to converse a little easier as a community in their time of troubles?

I know we do not agree with their philosophy...but damn there has to be some point at which we reach out to people..

Gateway assets make this much easier. In fact, maybe we should just skip GATEBTC and go for a GATEBITUSD UIA on DevShares backed by BitUSD locked on the BitShares blockchain by the counterparty.

I could do this.

Would there be interest in delegate sponsorship for something like this? I'm currently paying rent on multiple servers, and have already sunk about two months of development labor into GATEBTC (Still trying to make up the overtime/leave on my day job). I'm prepared to open-source, and can dramatically streamline the user-experience in terms of eliminating the need to expose private-keys.

would vote for you as 100% delegate also!

Definitely would vote for you as 100% delegate as well  :)

At current market cap, he's not making much

This was expected, and for me a big part of the reason why BTS is going to fail. Developers and others need to be paid, some of them have only this as their job, and with ever decreasing we would need more dilution causing more lowering in price; while other groups can happily fork the efforts and with good marketing can become successful. I only hope they sharedrop on us too.

BTS is NOT going to fail! You are leaving out of the equation the value being added by the delegates which is soon going to become more and more apparent. You are therefore, for whatever your personal reason (fear of success?), just spreading FUD.

Aloha to all  :)

I would like to organise Bitshares lectures  in London. At first this would be lectures to Bitcoin enthusiast and later extend it to other interested parties. I am not techie myself and would not be a speaker, but would help to organise it.
If you are interested to help in any way please let me know.

aloha  :)

I already contacted them, I assume they will change it soon.
Great I contacted them as well so hopefully they will  correct it today.

Still at 0.5 withdrawal fee.  I hope nobody gets burned withdrawing without checking the fee fist!
It would be great if Toast could contact them as well.  :)
