General Discussion / Re: VOTE DAC Just Got More Interesting
« on: October 16, 2014, 12:39:31 pm »
It's ironic that a lot of people who hold the belief that everything is in their head and nothing is real write a lot of books about it. Who do they think is going to read them? :)

Fans of the Matrix?  ;)
Yes I definitely like Matrix, but Tom is NASA physicist and is using famous physics experiments like double slit to explain his views.
If you have time check out his video that I put link for and you may be pleasantly surprised. By the way he is not only physicist today who hold this views that reality is information.  :)

As far as philosophical part of this conversation goes I would warmly recommend to anybody to check out physicist Thomas Campbell who wrote book My Big TOE (Theory of Everything). He produced a lot of youtube videos, here is link for one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uvz3CIv1VTo&list=UUYwlraEwuFB4ZqASowjoM0g
Summary of what Tom is saying that we are consciousness inside virtual reality and he explains why we are in virtual reality and who runs this virtual reality. My life was changed after reading his book and I hope it will do same for you  :)

Aloha  :)
I forgot to mention that bytemaster may find that his views have a lot in common with Tom's.

Once shorts are allowed to compete on interest I think interest will be much higher than 1.5%.  :)

But thinking he wants to go with SWARM ... just noticed ...
I don't think that has anything to do with SWARM coin.
Check it out "Changing the world through swarm intelligence: Rick Falkvinge at TEDxOslo 2013" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdiFV-AFbBA

Adam is best friend that BitShares could have.  In fact he is sometimes such a good friend as shown in this thread that there is no need for the enemies.
As they say who needs enemies when you have a such a good friends.  :)

Technical Support / Problem with buying BitBTC
« on: October 09, 2014, 12:38:38 pm »
I have just bought some BitBTC by clicking on the first row of Sell BitBTC Orders. Amount in BTSX was - 20,001.99993 BTSX. Order was executed and I received 1.57062294 BTC or equivalent 19,999.99999 BTSX. In Open Orders there was still order for difference 20,001.99993 - 19,999.99999 = 1.99994 BTSX . I don't know why is this the case, but I canceled it and had to pay 0.5 BTSX for cancellation fee.
I would like you to know that I am not complaining about 0.5 BTSX cancelation fee as it is not much, but I think that it should not happen as I clicked on Sell BitBTC Orders and was ready to buy full amount that somebody was selling. This is not about me, but about our future users.
Aloha to all  :)

I'm pretty new and I have searched YouTube and found a lot of stuff on bitshares. I have been listening to the hangouts that Dan does too since I can't make it to be there myself. All in all I am really glad to see what they have so far.  Now that delegates are running maybe they will help advertise too?

I have been kind of sad to see that bitshares doesn't seem to be talked about on ltb very much though...which is where I get a lot of my information.  Being number 4 in the first couple !months definitely brought my interest back to this project. Why does ltb seem so uninterested?

Not trying to sound disrespectful..but it was you who taught me about bitcoin so I thought you would be lining up with the best tech with fair models and helping us learn about them too. Maybe do some episodes like "let's talk bitshares"? I read somewhere you get paid by delegates from btsx so maybe it would be a good idea to use those talents to give back! Maybe I read wrong though so sorry if so...but either way bitshares is amazing!

Great points BTW Adam.

Interest on BitUSD should be even higher once shorts start to compete on interest.

If I understand correctly we need savers so we can offer them very high level of security and reasonably high interest rates. Mainstream audience who have never heard of crypto before is exactly what we need in this case.  In order to get savers we need people to go for a test drive and see it for themselves it is real deal. And for this test drive they will need to put $1000 and we will reward them with $100.   I maybe wrong about this but PayPal was not looking for savers nor do I think they are looking for the savers now AFAIK they can't offer interest rates that we can.
OB is great idea by the way as Amir and Cody are heroes of mine  :)
