Muse/SoundDAC / Re: MUSE Snapshot date announcement!

I have several thousand Muse on Openledger DEX, but cannot withdraw it to an external wallet.
I have tried, but have been informed by the dev team that there are issues with it on the DEX and they are "working on it"

So, if I cannot get it off the exchange what happens? Do I still have access to it after the fork or whatever is happening?

Technical Support / Withdrawing Bitshares

Hi All,

I've just realised that the Bitshares DEX is great at holding BTS, but not so good when you actually want to withdraw your coins and/or transfer to something else...

I want to participate in an upcoming ICO but its ETH only.

I don't have any ETH, so I need to trade some of my BTS, unfortunately there is none for sale on the DEX in any meaningful quantity, so I need to buy from another exchange, maybe Bittrex?

So I try to withdrawl, but you gotta go through a Bridge... OpenLedger doesn't convert BTS, so got to use Blocktrades and convert BTS to BTC.

Tried a small amount and nothing appears in my account?

Am I missing something here or is it really this convoluted and cumbersome to move things around? It seems like if you're not in ETH you're not in the game at the moment?!

Technical Support / Help with TXID

Hi All,

I have regretfully have sent Bitshares to Shapeshift, and not received anything in return.
I have sent 2 x 4000 in qty and the software simply got stuck on "waiting on deposit" which did go through as you can see via these 2 links.

https://bitshares.org/wallet/#/block/17097321
https://bitshares.org/wallet/#/block/17097107

I have been in contact with tech support with Shapeshift and they are requesting a txid for these transactions, which I have no idea to find.

Can someone please help me with this?

Still getting there...have got the manual out now, which I should have done in the first instance.
I will officially retract this statement about being insecure though, its quite the opposite actually

I have got this sorted, but still think that is an issue that you can view the wallet without a valid login

Hi Guys,

I want to bring to your attention something that occurred to me today, so if by chance you go to this wallet, and coin it does not happen to you.

I'm diversifying a little, so picked up some BURST coin on Bittrex.

Behold, the online Burst Wallet
https://wallet.burst-team.us:8127/index.html

So, you register, it offers a set of of phrase words, or you can choose your own.
I chose my own, all good. Logged in, looks good.

The big fuckin problem is! if you go to login again, like I did and you don't get your phrase quite right... it will still log you in to some random account with random fuckin public keys!

I sent my coins to this random address, not realising that it was not my account. I have tried to get my withdrawal stopped by contacting Bittrex, and it is currently 'reserved'

But seriously, WTF! talk about a trap...

I request anyone reading this to go to the link https://wallet.burst-team.us:8127/index.html
Just type in one letter, or some random letters... or hold the F key down or whatever, then hit enter

You will be logged in to the wallet. There will be an ID and PUBLIC KEY for you to send your coins to!

NOT HAPPY!!!!

*retracted... moderators you can go ahead and delete this post

Technical Support / Re: Help porting from desktop to online wallet
« on: May 29, 2017, 01:08:33 am »
*UPDATE*... so I started turning off all the firewalls, then tried fiddling with the clock settings (which were correct), I turned them all off then back on and my desktop account connected.

All is now well, but that gave me a fright! What is the general view on desktop versus online wallet? I would still like to be able to port my lifetime account name to an online wallet, is this possible?

Yes. Windows 10 is playing up and as of right now I cannot even load the desktop client, or the online wallet on my PC... says that Failed to sync with the API server.

I want to get away from a single device dependence and would prefer to manage my coins online in the cloud with a complex password/username pair

Technical Support / Help porting from desktop to online wallet

Hi Guys,

Lifetime Bitshares member here with a fairly significant stake (to me) in Bitshares... I've been around for several years, but rarely post although I am actively following progress.

Basically I want to transfer my holdings to an online wallet as I'm over Windows 10. But I want to keep my lifetime member account which I had to pay a fair bit to set up. The account name appears when I go to open ledger online, but the password does not work when I try to login with the online wallet, which makes sense I guess as I have never registered an online wallet.

My question is do I have a work around here? I want to have what I have on my PC in the same account online, so I can login from anywhere and manage. I also note that I cannot use my existing name to register in the online wallet as it is a "premium name" and the faucet requires a dash etc.

After not logging in to my desktop client for several months I have found I'm getting the whole cannot connect to API thing going on which is a huge pain and the primary reason I want to move to the cloud and away from the desktop for ease of use.

Any advice greatly appreciated.
K
