Keyhotee / Re: Keyhotee Status Update
« on: March 12, 2014, 11:58:12 am »
We've uploaded alpha 0.6.0 clients for Windows, Linux, and OSX. Older clients will no longer be able to send/receive email as we've also upgraded the mail server as part of this process, so all testers should upgrade to 0.6.0. Links to the three clients can be found here:

http://invictus.io/keyhotee.php
(current OSX version requires Mountain Lion or later, we're working to lower this requirement)

Where can I find my public key in this client? I think I looked about everywhere :/

I work for a company that has 30 employees and makes in one year as much as ags funding does in 3 months. I think there is enough money there already.

It will fix itself with the buzz and advent of new DACs.  I think that's your point, as well as Daniels

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

In the last 48hrs I've spoken with a DAC development team lead who apparently approached invictus about developing their ecosystem on the AGS/PTS platform, but Invictus told them if they wanted to have a stake before they announce and develop their first platform they should "buy some while they're cheap"

This was weeks ago when the price was quite a bit higher.   Point is, there is no reason to jump into this ecosystem if you have no stake in it.  Invictus sucked up all the funds intended for investing and incentivizing development of the community and now is the boot standing on the neck of DAC development.

How exactly do you think "Buzz" happens?   Because there is good news and things are in development.     I don't understand why it makes sense to sit on 300,000PTS and over a thousand BTC if the plan is to not spend it incentivizing other people into the space.   Invictus said "AGS Funds will never be taken as profit" but they ARE using them to pay for salaries and general operating costs at invictus, so while it may not be "profit" they are PAYING THEMSELVES using these funds and not using them to incentivize other developers getting into their ecosystem, which was much of the intent of the fund if I recall correctly.

A bounty literally is saying "IF someone does this thing we want done, to the specifications we require we guarantee to pay whoever does it this fixed amount"  So it's not like they're just throwing money around, they ONLY pay for results in this scenario.

I'm getting tired of saying the same obvious things.  I have been very patient but that is ending.

Adam makes a really good point. AGS Funds need to be invested properly. New developers I3 or 3rd party and marketing/customer education

Wenn es eine BitShare wallet gibt kannst du deinen PrivateKey von der PTS wallet exportieren und in der BTS Wallet importieren. Dann hast du deine BTS weil deine PTSAdresse in genesis block von Bitshares ist.

I've read most of the forum and I think I get most of the concept now. There are three questions I still have and I hope can be quickly answered here.

Will it be possible to replace an exchange like mt.gox with BitsharesX? If yes how will fiat enter the system?

Will it be possible to transfer BitAssets like bitUSD or in my case bitCHF ;) to another person.

And last. Who will use the system? If it is only day traders and crypto enthusiasts I don't see why it should take off like bitcoin for example..

1) No it will not necessarily replace an exchange like mtgox. However, atms will most likely replace these exchanges and make exchanging fiat for cryptos easier in general.

2) Yes, you simply send bitAsset to someone like you would send bitcoin. All bitAssets are completely fungible as well.

3) Everyone. The fees are less than those associated with traditional banks. You can store value in whatever assets you want. You can exchange money internationally with the same low fees. You can stay anonymous. Your funds are not subject to government appropriation.

Bitshares is the future of finance.

Nice. Exactly the answers I was looking for. Especially the transfer of assets. One question remains. Are the the company that provide the ATM's selling BitAssets for the USD that you put in? I still don't understand the interface to the current money system.

let's think about the metaphor...a 'wallet'

what is in my wallet? cash. a driver's license. a credit card. i can give my wallet to a stranger and without my saying anything they understand what it is and they can spend my money.

the interface looks nice, powerful, etc, but i wouldn't call it a wallet.

Please please please get a spokesperson.  Presentation is important [snipped the rest]

On the contrary, Dan did a great job presenting this. One of the things that attracted me to Invictus is that its stated aims are clear, and its development is done in an open and transparent way. I dont want some slick salesman giving me BS, and this video reminded me exactly why investing in Dan's company was a great thing to do. Also, think of Dan's feelings before you write something offensive again.

Offensive? Really? I believe in Daniel and his ideas.  However he is not the best spokesperson.  He does not appear comfortable on camera and that can make the viewer uncomfortable.  I doubt that Daniel would have his feelings hurts by my comments.  This is not a cult....we are all here because we believe in what 3I are trying to do and we believe in the implications of this technology.  Presentation is important, and while the content is excellent, this presentation was very bad.  We're adults working towards the same goals.  Please don't try to silence legitimate criticism or fight imaginary fights.  Let's move forward together.  Thanks.

Came here to say the same thing. 3I needs better PR and marketing. Only few people know about the product. There should be a far bigger presence of Bitshares in the crypto community.

I don't think pr and marketing is that necessary at this point. First and foremost, what is needed is a viable product. All of I3's "competitors," particularly ethereum, have effectively marketed products that do not exist yet. I think the hype around bitcoin 2.0 projects is absolutely ridiculous as investments in each project are entirely speculative. If fewer ppl know about bitshares throughout the testing phase it may actually be a good thing, as there will be less individuals to deride I3 for any failings. When the PoC becomes a tangible product that is when you market the hell out of it. From an investors standpoint, it is better that people undervalue what invictus is doing since it makes accumulating stake in company cheaper and thereby more profitable in the long run. There is no doubt in my mind that I3 has the best approach to the second wave of blockchain based companies, which is why at this early stage I am glad that ppl have bought into the hype of bitshares' supposed competitors.

True. I have not looked at it from that perspective. I think the video would have been better in an interview form. He is quiet good in interviews. Also I like questions being answered instead of only facts.. and I think most people feel the same..

Thanks that works.. Now I'm down to two libraries.
What am I missing? Sorry I'm a .Net developer and therefor spoiled ;)

WINSOCK2_LIBRARY-NOTFOUND;general;IPHLPAPI_LIBRARY-NOTFOUND;

WINSOCK2_LIBRARY should be some value like "C:/Program Files (x86)/Windows Kits/8.0/Lib/win8/um/x86/WS2_32.Lib"

If you have not install Windows Kits yet, refer http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/desktop/hh852363.aspx

It is strange because Windows Kits should be shipped together with vs2012
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/16606739/windows-kit-8-0-and-visual-studio-2012-are-they-shipped-together

allready installed. I also reinstalled vs2012. Have no clue.
