General Discussion / Re: will atomic swap make bitshares useless ?
« on: October 17, 2017, 05:14:58 pm »
yes absolutely, especially since bitshares can't and won't use atomic swap too.

if it start to use atomic swap to trade, it will only act as a front end, not a real exchange. thus no need for the bts token.
no ?

Technical Support / can't broadcast the transaction
« on: September 15, 2017, 01:35:18 pm »
"Failed to broadcast the transaction:
Your transaction has expired without being confirmed, please try again later"

when I try to place an order with the online wallet

what does it mean ? the nodes are overflooded due to the recent spike in transaction ? or is bitshares.org overwhelmed ? openledger. io doesn't work either

I'm just trying to understand how it (doesn't) work

thanks

lol

you either make it opensource and with minimal android permission, or it is another useless app

we don't need secret code and spying apps

General Discussion / how can I help the growth of bitshares
« on: September 14, 2017, 04:45:33 pm »
how

let's say I have a little technical knowledge and could do some translation to French
what can I do more than spam-shill everywhere and bother the people ?

biggest downside of bitshares is the lack of liquidity. I've read about bots that add liquidity by tunneling orders to other exchanges (and taking a small percentage). do you have more info about this ?

General Discussion / Re: [ANN] MagicWallet 1.2.1 Released
« on: September 12, 2017, 10:14:27 am »
thanks for the contribution but if its not open source I will never install it

opensourceness is an absolute necessity in the cryptosphere

awesome, thanks you a lot

will it be available on google play or only direct download apk ?

General Discussion / Re: Bitshares debit card
« on: August 29, 2017, 10:49:57 am »
I understand that creating a debit card in a decentralised market would take some figuring out

no you don't understand
I feel like you don't know what is a blockchain
a lot of new people interested by cryptos have no technical background and don't understand what blockchains are for, what blockchains make possible, and what is the difference between a blockchain-propulsed service and a traditional service

it is strictly impossible to use MasterCard or visa or any other existing credit card provider in a decentralized way

it is thus stupid to create a blockchain for this
tenX, Monaco and all other coins in this field simply abuse the lack of intellect of the people

there is already dozen of bitcoin debit cards service, they do work since years: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1242788.0

you can not decentralize debit cards without creating a new card processing system and thus needing to make special ATMs and Point Of Sales all around the world
and guess what, the banks won't replace all the ATMs to make decentralized debit cards possible. that would be suicide for them. nor government will support uncontrolled access to their currencies

Another question I have is if they are going to implement pegged currencies, because that's what makes this DEX a lot better than some others.

It is surprising why nobody made this on ethereum yet?

on eth trx costs are so high that the total cost for price feed transactions is going to be huge.

a transaction on ethereum cost about 4cent USD
this is really tiny

are you lying or is there a misunderstanding ?

https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/6cg4zj/ethereum_tx_costs_45_cents/

yes please read yourself this reddit thread and not only the title

I think your mind is biased and thus your thinking is worthless

credit cards are inherently centralized.
you technically can't use MasterCard or visa in a decentralized way

I have no idea what tenX and all other "credit cards coins" are trying to do: can someone enlighten me ?

I haven't heard about, but don't think it could be a worthy competitor for Bitcoin

why so ? please explain yourself .

General Discussion / omisego - a bitshares competitor ?
« on: August 17, 2017, 05:20:10 pm »
hey

I guess you have all hear about omisego

their product is indeed not existing, but it will get launched in Q4 2017
from my understanding, it will also include a decentralized exchange, but with trust less gateways

what are your thoughts on this ?
