* This poll isn't going to get seen by most in this section of the forum, should have been put in the General Discussion at first.

Technical Support / Re: Referalls from an inaccessible lifetime account
« on: October 23, 2015, 05:28:08 pm »
I know it has been designated lifetime because I saw it once when I got partially through the import process and could see my accounts listed in the web wallet, clicking on that account showed it was lifetime. However, all the accounts from that import disappeared the next time I used the web wallet after it stalled loading the claim balance page.

I am tired of my accounts being in limbo, really hoping the devs are able to create soon an import pathway for accounts with lots of keys that doesn't require a computer science degree to use. I was really getting into trading on the DEX in BTS1 and I am looking forward to doing the same in the much improved BTS2 as soon as I can. In the meantime, it is nice to know if that account refers a user it should be given the referral credit.

Technical Support / Referalls from an inaccessible lifetime account
« on: October 23, 2015, 05:11:32 pm »
The referral program using ?r=your-account-name url should be ready to go any day now as BM said it would happen sometime last week and valzav said this week, so I was wondering if an inaccessible lifetime account would still get credit for referrals?

I have been gifted a lifetime account for referring users in BTS1, but with so many keys I am unable to get the web wallet or light client to work for BTS2. Would a user referred by my link still make me the referrer of record even though I haven't yet successfully imported and claimed the balance of the lifetime account?

Eliminate many collusion issues by making all games heads-up. It is a good place to start.

... but the referral program will be open for everyone, all you would have to do is to send people to ?r=your-account-name url

xeroc [5:00 PM]
Would love to hear some more details about how this is achieved .. considering the two spots (referer and registar) are filled already with CNX and OL

valzav [5:01 PM]
I think there will be two separate faucets

valzav [5:01 PM]
CNX and OL ones

xeroc [5:02 PM]
ah .. and CNX/OL will be registrar and the referer will be ?r=<X> ..

valzav [5:02 PM]
yes

xeroc [5:02 PM]
sounds great ..

valzav [5:04 PM]
currently there is only OL faucet and it uses only registrar slot, I’m planning add url based referrer to it later this week (no need to use CNX here), so you would be able to use it this week
What is the date of this discussion?

General Discussion / Re: $1 Bitshares possible?
« on: October 18, 2015, 04:57:34 am »

Just interested to know what people realistically think BTS price could achieve. $1 seems to me to be  very achievable for such a technology, probably much more.

Thanks
M

A trillion dollar market cap would push the price per share into the hundreds. If Bitshares delivers on what it promises a trillion dollars is possible. Most brokerage firms worth their salt manage a few trillion.

It may seem crazy but if I posted on Bitcointalk in 2009-2010 that Bitcoin would go from $0.10 to $1200 people would laugh at me. The trick is to hold on and not sell out otherwise you will end up like thise people who sold bitcoin at $1 instead of holding. In my opinion Bitshares will either change finance or it will fail, no in between.

Realistically I think $10 is acheivable. (roughly 30 billion)  I am curious on what other people think.I might be crazy but I see huge potential if Bitshares works.

Technical Support / Importing Help
« on: October 17, 2015, 06:13:25 am »
I was able to transfer my web wallet to the OpenLedger, account and balance worked.

Now with that same OpenLedger wallet, i try to import from .9.3c I have issues...
When I try to import keys.json from .9.3c, I get the "Password matches, Loading...", then after 10 minutes it shows the accounts and the 70,000 private keys, but it says no balance at the bottom, I click import anyway. I let it run, the first time I did this it loaded for hours, second time for 24 hours, but both times it just shows the circle loading endlessly. When I stop it, the accounts are in my wallet, but they have no balance, clicking balance claims gets it endlessly loading again saying Loading balance claims... When I try to import again, it says "This wallet has already been imported." If I close the browser, when I reopen OpenLedger only the original web wallet account is there, and all the other accounts that were imported via .9.3c are not visible as if I never imported them into this wallet.

What am I doing wrong?

The classic example is the telephone. The more people who own telephones, the more valuable the telephone is to each owner. This creates a positive externality because a user may purchase a telephone without intending to create value for other users, but does so in any case. Online social networks work in the same way, with sites like Twitter and Facebook becoming more attractive as more users join. (Wikipedia)

Airbnb, Dropbox, Paypal, Uber, Evernote, Amazon Prime,  Amuze, Adventure Gear, DapperTime, Typeform, JottaCloud, Lyft, GetAround, Coinbase, EventBrite, iStockPhoto, Elance, World of Warcraft, Hulu Plus, Netflix, Dish, DirecTV, LastPass, Prezi, Google Apps...

General Discussion / Re: What about the ads?
« on: October 14, 2015, 07:34:20 pm »
Who would pay for those ads? The referral system might make it worthwhile to try for a marketer, but unfortunately it isn't set up yet, so unless you are CMX and OpenLedger you just have to wait.

Using the referral system at this moment seems a bit vague.

Is there a method in place for us non-wallet providers to refer a user and get some portion of the referral credit?

If so, what is/are the page(s)/website(s) we are are supposed to refer a user to?

If so, please provide an example of the exact way we should format the link with our referral code.

Thank you.

https://bitshares.org/wallet/?r=yourname#/create-account

I believe there are currently some issues with the page, but that is the proper link format from my understanding (it was working earlier)

https://bitshares.openledger.info/?r=yourname#/create-account

I think this is how we will craft links, but the referral system is not up and running yet. so don't use it for now

arg, spent four hours last night updating links, adding banners, and blogging on my two sites for apparently no reason. Here is to hoping the link format doesn't change in the future, then much of that effort will have been a complete waste of time. So much for capitalizing on the spike in traffic on my sites from all the recent news.

I was under the impression the referral program was going to be ready for launch.
