General Discussion / Re: My plan for how to make Bitshares succeed
« on: November 06, 2015, 05:58:50 am »
Great want it all.

Together with the roadmap, we should have visible iterations (scrum, xp, Kanban) if you know agile you know what I mean.
Continuous release to Dev, community can build the testnet if they want for very early feedback.
Continuous release to UAT testnet (for early feedback and see progress), weekly?
Dev forum / slack / whatever that everybody can join and collaborate. Now that graphene cnx is out, everything can remain open / collaborative.

Benefit we can see the work in progress (everybody), if there is a delay is ok.. as the work in progress is visible. All stakeholders are happy, and steady growth of the system.

What a ride it has been....

It has ... (and still is)  but look at the code... is really good. Architecture is done, now the focus in in features and usability as in previous threads.

General Discussion / Graphene new chain or can this be done in Bitshares.
« on: November 04, 2015, 12:05:42 pm »
After a quick brainstorming on BitAssets I have been thinking what is missing for an start up to use BitAssets, and as an specific domain enabler (think Muse) what would I like to offer to other businesses.

+ Create bitAssets (shares, tokens) with us:
- Why will I chose Bitshares:  Asset creation, issuing and distribution is easy and cheap.

+ How do I finance my business?
- Features like Crowd-sourcing (it was mentioned as an extension could be added) are part of the chain.

+ Revenue distribution including micro revenue.
- Easy and cheap way to distribute revenue across asset holders.

+ Vesting period for issued assets.

Obviously Bitshares does not have all these features, and micro payments are not supported.
What are the options? If I want to target an specific business domain, should I fork graphene to enable this?
Or will this ever be possible in Bitshares, and I can create my custom wallet.

I believe prediction markets is a good idea, as it diversifies the offering. Bonds straight afterwards ;)

We need an UX worker role, for Bitshares and all partners.

This is (at the moment) specific to overall UI design of partners websites, logos and / or content, the current process is quick announcement, quick launch, looks unpleasant, cass to the rescue.

Can we ensure that this does not happen, again? It is much simpler to involve cass / or team with cass to either do the design first or help.

This does not relate to the launch of Muse specifically, there are other examples. But it could have "looked" much better, just look at Ujos Alpha release. I assume the intention for Peertracks launch to be in a bigger scale to that one (well it should be, and will go through proper UX process).

This is not related to Bitshares UX as it is work in progress at the moment, so no criticism there.

From another thread (and many times suggested)

I think Graphene should be marketed more as a blockchain platform or infrastructure, similar (but not the same) to Ethereum. Flexibility vs Performance.

It needs (quick brainstorming):

+ Clear licencing model (How much, or simple written negotiation terms)
+ Showcase (Bitshares, Muse eventually).
+ Clear documentation (how do I extend Graphene to do business X)
+ Business model boundaries (If you are extended financial services, this should be implemented in Bitshares, the revenue model will be, Music in Muse. any other model you can use the Graphene toolkit)
+ Market itself as a toolkit / platform etc.
+ Invest some resource on proving the infrastructure (note as graphene, not bitshares), ie 100k TPS, Security etc.
+ Clear future plans.

Muse/SoundDAC / Re: cob, are you ready for tomorrow's go live?????:'( :'(

This is a small launch, I assume a big event will be held afterwards, once everything is up and running. But it will be good to have a better perspective for the interested of what is happening.

A little history and perspective to the rescue!

Invictus Innovations said anyone could use their tech as long as they sharedropped 10% to PTS holders and 10% to AGS holders. Leaving 80% of the chain to PeerTracks.
PeerTracks inc. would allocate that 80% as they saw fit, x% to pre-sale of Notes, y% to this, z% to that.

If you recall, that was the original proposal, which got shot down quite quickly.

We replaced that "centralized beginning model" with something that harnesses the power of DPOS and we all agreed it was much fairer:
Just 10% to PeerTracks but allow dilution, which would be in the control of ALL stakeholders, not just PeerTracks.

This made everyone happy since, it removed centralization, and put the funding and development into the hands of everyone instead of just one corporation (PeerTracks). It also did not guarantee there would ever even be a need to dilute, unlike the original proposal.

So until Graphene there were 1.5 billion MUSE Core Units with infinite stakeholder-approved dilution.

The only thing that changed with Graphene is that we have put a CAP on dilution to a nice round number 500 million, making TOTAL possible MUSE Core Units to be 2 billion.

So what we basically did is go from infinite possible dilution to a hard coded max possible dilution of 25%. Your welcome.

And once again, don't like the reserve fund? Vote to burn it all!

So to clarify!

The 500 million Reserve Fund is not in the hands of PeerTracks inc.
It's in the hand of the stake holders. It's the MUSE blockchain's own reserves.

The PeerTracks Stake is 10% of the original 1.5 Billion. Some 150 Million Shares NOT the 500 million reserve fund that might never even see the light of day before workers burn it all haha.

+5% excellent.

You can put * for duplicated entities, and / or maybe different shapes for each type of actor.
