Is it possible to refund bitUSD pool to reduce GS price just sending some BTS to the pool ?

What happened with bitUSD is that each coin is now exchangeable to BTS at the rate when the Black Swan was triggered. But this conversion is not done automatically but users have to click a button. I have no idea why it was implemented this way as a lot of people still believe that bitUSD is somehow linked to USD. But it only was until the moment of settlement. Now it is just another token that is worth 20 BTS. It has exactly the same risk profile as BTS.

bitUSD may get restarted in the future when all positions are closed or the settlement fund is at 175% collateral again. But for now it is just 20 BTS. Many still argue that buying bitUSD is great because the peg will eventually return. But for that to happen BTS must rise in value first. So it is really no different to hold one bitUSD or 20 BTS!

General Discussion / Re: Investigating the reasons for BitUSD GS

BitUSD needs borrowers to exist, but borrowers do not care about demand, it means that the supply is not correlated with demand, a demand that increases does not incentivize borrowing and therefore increase supply

Sorry for my english, but what about the implementation of Bancor protocol ?
It seems very interesting to improve liquidity without borrowers

why not a sidechain of bitshares with smart contract

General Discussion / Re: how to revive bitCNY?
« on: November 27, 2018, 12:59:51 pm »
frankly speaking, bitCNY is already in black swan status if the feed price reflect the real market price.

however, I don't think it's good to return to feed real market price and leave black swan happen for bitCNY,  as we have seen in bitUSD, after black swan happened, now the peg break, borrowing stop, hard to revive.

I suggest to protect bitCNY from black swan by setting a black swan protection price, say black swan protection price = global settlement price*1.11.

feed price = max(market price, black swan protection price)

then when market price goes up, the margin called orders will be eaten step by step, the black swan protection price become lower and lower, and bitCNY has chance to revive.

Thoughts?

In any market you can't never be sure of anything, if the price never goes back bitCNY loses forever its PEG

Sorry for my english !
I'm agree, In my opinion it's a must have. Interact in a trustless way with DEX, UIA, SMA ... is a very powerfull feature.
Bitshares is my favorite blockchain, but as a developer it's frustrating to not be able to code Dapps on it.
But GAS system of EVM is awful, in bitshares GAS should be able to be paid in any assets, with the DEX or fee pool it should be possible?

Technical Support / Understand the Bitshares-core code
« on: March 27, 2018, 03:48:36 pm »
Hello, I am a Java / Javascript developer.
I would like to understand the code of Bitshares core.
Is there any documentation?
When I look at the code I do not understand, obviously I have to learn C ++ (it's in progress).

I would like to understand where is the code that determines the code to execute according to the type of transaction?

For example:
what is the called method sequence when a limit order creation transaction is transferred to the blockchain?
What code is executed when a witness add new price feed for a smart asset and the margin call logic ?
...etc
Sorry for my bad English and these noob questions !!

As a user I think it's a very good idea, cumulating volumes of all the gateways is extremely interesting, the BTC market should have a very good liquidity.
As a developer, I guess it's not easy but I hope i'm wrong.

Basically the problem is that the supply of smart assets does not depend on the demand, it depends on the borrowers.
Borrowers want to make profit, they are not interested in the total demand of smart assets, moreover to my knowledge there is no chart of the evolution of the demand for bitCNY for example?

The proposal is interesting, I support it.
But I wonder if it's enough.
At present, only DEX users create bitCny or BitUSD, besides the more these assets will be used outside the DEX, the more it will be necessary to create, asking DEX users to cover this demand is not realistic
I think an exchange like AEX should also offer the possibility to its users to short bitCNY.
I don't know if it's possible, but imagine a user-friendly widget for an exchange or any other loan service that would like to use Bitshares.
Obviously the possibility of putting Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies as collateral would greatly assist in the massive adoption of Bitshares decentralized loan mechanism
In conclusion, we need more borrowers, I think we have to get them outside the DEX.
DEX users can cover internal demand but not demand from anywhere in the world.

Very important topic! (Sorry for my english)
Authorizing the use of BTC as collateral could increase potential shorters, some exchanges like Aex could be interested in this feature and offer it to their users !?

The algorithm buys back the asset but the collateral stays the same which leads to ever-increasing collateral ratio, even far beyond maintenance collateral ratio (MCR) which is not behavior that I would expect.

I don't understand , how the collateral can stay the same ?
When someone is margin called the algorithm buys back the asset by selling the collateral, so there is less collateral , no ?

Tu as reçu tes bitshares depuis ?
Tu as pris contact avec eux ?

Personnellement je passe par openledger pour le moment j'ai pas eu de soucis !
