also for fellow miners i did notice one thing:

i have 4 core cpu and 4 gig mem and I get better results if I fire up more threads @ 512M (say like 7 gives 3,5GB) than only four (given 4 threads on cpu)

conlusion: use more threads to fill up unused memory

waiting for your thoughts on that =)

That's intended. The more CPU power you put into mining, the higher the output. Configuring more RAM per CPU core only gives an advantage if you have very fast RAM in your machine. Testing this out is up to you. Anyway the difference is only very small. The big difference is the number of cores like you correctly stated already.

But the quad multicore cpu can handle more threads without any problem. My thought was not to provide more ram per thread, instead fire up more threads to fill up unused memory.

thanks

At about which date (or before) would I have to have had PTS to now claim MMC?

you were supposed to have some fund in your pts wallet at the time the given block was created, this lets you import your key into mmc wallet and get your share

could this miner be emulated on this: http://code.google.com/p/gpuocelot/ ?

that few MMC would make a good donation for providing a pool by xolokram

@xolokram are there any known steps i could do to reduce the reject rate?

Random Discussion / Re: Best linux distribution for a newbie
« on: January 08, 2014, 11:04:34 am »
you can try http://distrowatch.com/ it lists popular Linux distributions and those top ranked are mostly user friendly for beginners
also it provides basic description of the given distribution.

I'd suggest Debian or fedora since they are not that difficult and well established distributions with good documentation and lots of resources on the internet.
my personal favorite is Gentoo Linux for the outstanding documentation this project provides.
Good luck.

MemoryCoin / Re: Time to Drop the '2.0'?

is it already on the market? if so which one?

23
it might be, because btc/ags donation is more efficient so investors might sell pts for btc to donate the project

thus it drives the price down. we'll see for how long, it might be a good time to buy in

I looked at the cryptsy and for the last week the value dropped down from 0.027 to 0.018

i hope this is temporary since pts has still a potential and was going up slowly past few months

good time for buying in / more :)

sure, but I can't buy pts with having only pts mined so far =)

Technical Support / Re: Cloudmining BUT Wallet behind firewall/router?
« on: January 08, 2014, 10:18:17 am »
Greetings,

I am trying to get everything set up with cloud hosting and I have a question regarding wallet which I have installed locally.
How to connect to wallet if I am behind router/firewall?

Guide is saying:
./ptsminer <enter here your PTS address from the wallet>

My guess is that the WANIP is required ? Any port?

Cheers

afaik ptsminer is only for ptsweb.beeeeer.org pool

General Discussion / Re: Exchange all BTC for PTS - what would you do?

yes, it helps if you keep your funds in more than one currency, over time you can try exchange - selling some of your profit and investing in coins with future potential

I was mining for the last few days and it was just fine, however today i get loads of rejects again. about 30%

what is the reason for that? where the pool is located? maybe its because of latency I get like 190 ms... consider opening another pool in europe maybe? or loose miners.

thanks
