MemoryCoin / Re: mmcpool.com - CLOUD MINING GUIDE!
« on: January 09, 2014, 07:53:29 pm »
Is this normal?

I am using a Linux Datasoft Cloud server and with this mmcminer I am getting these traffic spikes, which gets me spammed with emails from the server company.  It looks like over 10mb coming into my linux server.  Is that expected?  Or is there some problem with the server.  Thanks!

Hoping someone can comment on this, just wonder if it is unusual activity or to be expected.  Thanks.

I guess the ultimate goal is to get the coin to be used, through a retailer or charity site.  But to get there the coin needs exposure.  So I voted for the exchange because it seems if it gets on the exchange, people will notice it more, miners will mine it more and then you can use blogs and social media to reinforce that exposure and get the word out what's unique about this coin.

How would I download and install this on my cloud server?

Thanks.

Lol - wish I hadn't seen this thread.  I restarted and now my 270 is slower then before.  Anyway, Reorder says they're working on it.

i7-3820 OC to 4.2
8 threads = ~ 3.5 h/m
(temp at around 60c)

Interestingly, running just 4 threads gets me ~ 2h/m but if I run two instances each with 4 threads, they both run around 1.7+ h/m.  So it is about the same.

MemoryCoin / Re: Question regarding solo vs. pool mining

Unfortunately, for GPU mining, 1GH is the only place to be.   :)  So I can't really compare payouts with my GPU.

Another thing I don't understand is the shares and value columns.  I thought the shares listed here is what I submitted and the more shares I submit the more value I get.  So block 4367 I submitted 47 shares, received .188+ MMC.  Why is it that in block 4359 I submitted 59 shares but only received .162+ shares.  Both blocks were worth 252.70 MMC.

Then there's the 22 shares I submitted, for .264+ MMC.  What accounts for this variance?

Do I understand the basics correctly, the more shares I submit the more value I should get?

Well - I notice it's an old poll, started in October.  So probably a zombie thread...oh well, I voted anyway.

There's a poll to vote for coins you want to see on Cryptsy.  Memorycoin is on the list (but the abbreviation is wrong).

MemoryCoin / Question regarding solo vs. pool mining
« on: January 01, 2014, 09:05:47 pm »
I'm new to the crytpo game, so I apologize in advance for such a basic question.  Probably answered elsewhere but:

Does the memorycoin2 profit calculator (http://agran.net/memorycoin2_calc.html) work for both solo and pool mining?

I know there my be some variance, in addition to pool fees, but if, in general, it says I should collect 10 coins a day due to my hashrate, is that valid for both solo and pool mining?

Thanks!

« on: January 01, 2014, 02:13:15 am »
I've added a menu option to the wallet to (CPU) pool mine at 1GH as they don't require a password and works with the minerd.exe

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-5Ax5kejTpMYjA2aXRWZmRGbVk/edit?usp=sharing

Do I need to download all those files into my memorycoin folder?  I downloaded the memorycoin-qt.exe (verified using 8.56) and the minerd.exe, the memorycoin app says I am mining, but my cpu is at 0% usage.  Good trick if I get a hashrate.   :)

Go on ebay, you can pick up a dual quad core processor 1U server for £100 in full working condition.

Those dual quads will only get you about 1.5 h/m.  You need to spend a lot more to get an AES enabled CPU server.

But now that there is a GPU miner - get a R9 280x for about $420 and get 20HPM, if you're not concerned about electricity costs.

Datasoft $99 package is getting me about 5.5 h/m.
