General Discussion / [RESOLVED] Coinomat bitUSD Deposit Issue
« on: June 27, 2015, 04:28:23 pm »

Just a heads up that I have an open case with Coinomat regarding a lost bitUSD transfer. I'll update this thread as it progresses.

The last update was 10:30AM EST

Meta / Why does no one use Forum Chat?
« on: May 28, 2015, 03:12:27 pm »

I just logged into and it's empty. Seems like a pretty slick web based chat page. I'll keep a tab open to it in the hopes that more people join in. Between Skype and Slack there's a lot of chat going on but this seems like a place new users may check out and ask questions.

Gentso1 and I will be there for sure. Anyone else in the community close enough to Philly to come out and play? You might be part of their film (if you want to be).

Stakeholder Proposals / [ANN] Marketing.Methodx Reboot
« on: March 22, 2015, 03:09:49 pm »

As many of you know Methodx and myself were one of the first business/technical partnerships. While Methodx's work speaks for itself I played a lesser role of keeping the lights on, handling payments, etc. Sadly Methodx has decided to move on from BitShares which means the delegate falls to me as the remaining business partner. In the interest of transparency and full disclosure this post will describe my new plans for the funds. I welcome your feedback. If the delegate gets voted out that's fine too however I think that would be a wasted opportunity.

During the Mumble of Friday, March 19th, 2015 there was a brief conversation with BM about market making bots, their importance in bootstrapping the ecosystem (liquidity), and where they are needed most. To this end I will be allocating 100% of marketing.methodx income to liquidity bots. While the trading strategy and details won't be public the funds going in to, and out of, the bot from this income source will be (link coming).

The mechanics of this are quite simple. There are already scripts in place that pay 95% of income to MethodX for marketing activities and 5% to myself for operations. The script will be updated to transfer 100% of income to the various marketing market making bots.

In order of priority:
1) Internal bot on the bitUSD/BTS pair.
2) Yunbi bot on the bitUSD/BTC pair
3) metaexchange bot on the <various>/BTC pairs.

Thank you. I look forward to your feedback.

James aka Riverhead.

General Discussion / My Experience with

Buying a physical item (t-shirt) online without logging in or giving them any of my financial information was very cool. It will take some getting used to and until you've gone through it the impact doesn't hit you fully.

We were able to execute a transaction for goods and shipped to an address I maintain at a UPS store. They don't know and don't care who I am, where I actually live. The payment processes nearly instantly and we go our separate ways.

This is EPIC!

Stakeholder Proposals / The Update Heard Around the World
« on: December 13, 2014, 06:22:28 am »
I just wanted to give a shout out to my fellow delegates. The rally to action was fantastic and while it was frustrating at times it was all eventually sorted. In a conversation I had with BM about delegates back at the Vegas convention I took the position that delegates do not know each other and therefore likely would not work together. I have never been happier to be wrong :).

We could look at today as a simulated attack on the network and the delegate response. Needless to say we passed.

Perhaps the new high speed blockchain downloading or something but it hosed my VPS and crashed the 0.4.24 version (machine is currently locked up :P )

Perhaps delegates with servers located in the US had best move them elsewhere.
