I am getting the Invalid ID/Founder Pair now too.
Well, based off that error I was getting in the status windows, looks like something might be off or a service is not running. No worries, Alpha is Alpha...  8)

Haha, no doubt. :)

I've uploaded new Keyhotee alpha 2 release binary for Windows to:
 http://invictus.io/bin/keyhotee_0.5.2.zip

The main focus for this release was fixing bugs associated with profile creation and loading, including problems related to network issues and foreign language characters. It also has better reporting of successful registration of Keyhotee Founder IDs (previously this could only be checked when creating an identity, now this info is persistently available in the contact info page for that identity). We plan to release a linux binary in a few days, assuming no major problems are reported in the interim.

Profile recreated on Windows with no issues (it generated the same pub key for me).

BitShares AGS / Re: Should 3i stop BTC investment of AngelShares?
« on: January 11, 2014, 04:43:39 am »
If 3i don't stop BTC investment of Angelshares. The PTS price will be going down gradually. I don't think allowing BTC investment is a good idea for PTS holders. 3I shoud stop BTC investment right now and only allow PTS investemnt to protect PTS value. Think the aim and value of PTS is that it can obtain BTS, now you can get more BTS using BTC, why should you need PTS?

Liquidity.

[I see your point. I think it's a sweeping statement and there are exceptions to the rule but on the whole - I think you've got some ground there. :) Especially when it comes to commercial entities offering normally paid-for services gratis.

Agreed.  Like most clever sayings (I got that one from one of those demotivational posters, I'm not that clever) it's best not to think too much on it :).

If you're getting something for free you'd otherwise need to pay for you're not the customer you're the product.
So if I opt to download a movie that was released on DVD instead of paying for it from Amazon, then I have become that DVD?!

If you do the right kind of drug you may feel that way  :D .

Google doesn't provide folks Gmail for free out of the goodness of their heart.  They're scraping keywords from email to sell targeted ad opportunities.  You're not their customer you're their product they sell to advertisers.  You can extend that concept to just about everything of value you get for "free".

Usually harmless, sometimes nefarious.  I just feel it's worth trying to understand the motivation behind someone giving me something for "free".  Especially someone offering up a binary for folks to run as their first post :).

In the case of your downloaded movie: someone had to take the time to rip it, encode it, and publish it.  Why would they do this?  Perhaps the reason is as simple as they hate the MPAA, and frankly that's not hard, and feel their work is taking money out of MPAA's pocket.  In that case you're no so much the product but the tool but the bottom line is they didn't do it for you and the cost is that if enough revenue is lost in this fashion less movies will be produced.  Unlikely, but that's just the first scenario I came up with in the 30 seconds I've thought about the cost of your "free" movie.  The adage gets a bit stretched when it comes to digital theft; especially if you never planed to buy the movie if you couldn't down load it...but I'm sure some folks download vs bought.

No offence, but why post it with a newbie account...

with 0 tax ...... so weired

Perhaps after bigger fish.  Running a binary file from an unknown source is probably the most dangerous thing you can do.  At the very least I'd only run this binary on a computer with a throw-away Windows install connected to a completely separate network from my other machines and then only if I felt this binary would return a substantial profit vs other avenues.

If you're getting something for free you'd otherwise need to pay for you're not the customer you're the product.

Hello.

I registered a founders ID ad now I can't figure out where to download the Keyhotee alpha and get into the genisis block.

I'm on mac.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Me too,  I only can se the download link for windows,  but I don't have (and don't want) a windows machine.

So,  someone could share the download link for Mac?

Thanks.

There is no OSX client yet.  You can follow the bounty thread to get a better idea of how close an OSX client is:

340 founder IDs - for more information about pls check our current Newsletter ...

Thanks cassiopaia.

I did read the news letter but what it didn't (and likely can't due to the live nature) report on is how many Founder ID's have been registered.  340 have been paid for but how many Founders have actually downloaded the Alpha software and registered their public key?

Again, this was just a curiosity about the actual participation of Founders if someone knew that number off the top of their head.

As was also stated in the news letter the forum is booming with posts and useless questions (like mine  :-\ ) so it's hard to keep up on ALL the posts.  Maybe one day Crypto will be my full time job but not today haha.

the ID that i won, the generated public key and the founder code didnt match.
errors msg was given. " error registering founder ID..." "error report code 'invalid_key' "..
so what do i do now ?

same issue for me! I've used the http://invictus-innovations.com/founder-sign-up/ after register a keyhotee profile and creating a new identity.

@voldemort628: edited you comment accidentally, pls excuse!

Correct.  Use this form to log your results and I'll personally inspect each one before we pour the concrete.

 :)

Just curious, how many Founders are we at now?  Are most of the awarded Founder ID's claimed already or are there a lot of unclaimed?  Just curious about how on top of things the Founders are their and the participation level.

on Windows, where is the wallet data file (or directory), will it be compatible with the mac/linux datafile?

Go to %AppData% which defaults to .../AppData/Roaming.

Back out one level and go into .../AppData/Local

There you'll see a KEYHOTEE directory.
