General Discussion / Re: Is Dascoin Real Or Not?
« on: June 29, 2018, 05:58:49 pm »
I have to agree with you but the one thing that swayed me the most was the relationship with Carta. Carta is not going to risk their reputation associating themselves with a scam. Carta has the expertise and connections to qualify  Dascoin as legitimate.

Pretty sure it's dead & has been for years.

Great work here Alfredo. I’ll work with you on the ngnix config, as I’ve been sorting that myself related to hosting an api node.

General Discussion / Re: [ANN] Payger - Payment + Messenger
« on: June 29, 2018, 05:52:02 pm »
There are only announcements about Payger, and nothing is backed up with anything. No developers are mentioned (though Christoph Hering said in Sep. 2017 they will be introduced the next weeks), there are countless contradictions in the scant comments he gave in the development newsletters (he doesn't even post those newsletters on the Payger one-page website other than sending it to Blockpay token holders), he lied about Payger being a rebranding of Blockpay (in fact it is a change of the corporate and ownership structure, with his lawyer dad pulling the strings), and he doesn't say anything about the whereabouts of the large part of the pre-ICO Blockpay funds (while there is evidence he has them on his private accounts).

There are three things that your heirs MUST know about in order to access these tokens and keep them safe: exchanges, wallets, and devices.
Exchanges
Most exchanges are centralized and hold funds for you in an account to allow you to trade between local currency and cryptocurrency.
Wallets
Wallets can be a bit trickier because often it’s difficult for people to know if they are using a “hosted wallet,” like an exchange where you don’t actually own your keys, or a non-hosted wallet, where you do.
Devices
What do your heirs need to know? They will need to know what devices you use to access your wallet accounts. Why? Because these devices probably have copies of your keys stored on them and it’s important that your heirs know not to throw away, donate, gift, or destroy these devices until the funds have been successfully moved to the estate or moved to your heirs.
Bonus
Your heirs will probably need someone to help them access your cryptocurrencies and asset tokens. If you can easily think of people you trust to help, then list them. I prefer having at least two ‘helpers’ designated, from different organizations or different sides of the family.

A rebrand for Bitspark's platform has been long overdue and the team has made an informative video about it available on youtube. It's a big change for the company whose premise is to utilise cryptocurrency to send money cheaper for Money Transfer companies by its platform. The remittance industry for business owners is one burdened by banks and monopoly and as such in need of much innovation. The rebrand has been tried and tested with Money Transfer users as explained via the Bitspark's most recent newsletter.

On a side note, the Bitspark team has been growing rapidly since its ICO last year with emphasis on sales, marketing, design and development. The company is also headlining many remittance, payments and money transfer events this year being one of the only specialised blockchain solutions for these industries running for 4 years.

Look out for meet ups in your area as Bitspark will be in Malaysia & Brussels in May & Philippines in September.
Hong Kong-based blockchain remittance platform Bitspark has announced that it has received funding from RGAx, the innovation accelerator of Reinsurance Group of America, Inc – a Fortune 500 company and one of the largest life reinsurance companies in the world.

No, the maximum amount one can send remains the same. You can send up to Ksh70,000 in one transaction. The maximum you can send in a day is Ksh140,000. You can only hold up to Ksh100,000 in your M-PESA account.
Spark 2018: Scout’s Inaugural User Conference
Scout, the upstart company making waves in the strategic sourcing software market, hosted its inaugural user conference this week in San Francisco and it was an impressive first showing for such a relatively young company. The Scout founders said that approximately 300 attendees had registered for the event representing 160 different companies. The morning of the all-day conference was a great blend of Scout executives, customer presentations,

Graphene does not get discussed enough by the community so a casual meetup was organised by the Spark team. If you missed the event take a look at our brief roundup available here

Spark held an introductory Graphene Meet Up in Hong Kong to educate those interested in what is Graphene, how it is used and why it is relevant in today's cryptocurrency space where decentrsliation, processing and speed has become top priorities for many projects.

« on: June 26, 2018, 05:46:42 pm »
Here is a snippet from our latest blog on what an Money Transfer Operator or MTO for short is ;

What are money transfer operators? Money transfer operators are businesses that support overseas cash transfers by accepting cash from a sender and dispersing cash to the designated receiver.

Spark provides a cash in, cash out remittance platform for them that uses crypto for transactions. It's bankless with better rates and has traditional cash out locations like Pawnshops, convenient stores, bank accounts and ATMs which end users prefer. We launched a mobile app called Sendy too for our complete strategy.

Bitshares removes remittance providers’ reliance on banks or expensive liquidity providers such as OTC, brokers or exchanges for access to currencies with its smart asset creation functionality. Furthermore, with its built-in decentralized exchange, direct currency trading of exotic currencies is made possible without hedging USD making trades for exotic currencies cheaper with direct native currency trading.

Cool.
If they throw an extra 300k tps in total every day, we will see quite some traffic on chain.

Can you elaborate on *what* they actually transfer? They do need a token of some sort.
What kind of information can you give us on the banking side of this.. Can you name those money transfer operators publicly?

Exactly. When Spark's full system is up and running we will be seeing a lot more volume on the chain. Currencies being used are HKD, IDR, PHP, EUR & USD, we are cash in and cash out so on tokens are involved except when users transact and are rewarded our ZEPH. As for the banking side, there is none. Spark accepts cash from MTOs to buy bitcoin for MTO balances. Balances are then pegged for their remittances from end users. As for the MTOs we will be making a report of the pilots public after the period of testing. More updates will be available here https://t.me/joinchat/BQS59kQMk8Zkscos9idsgg

We also just launched a closed beta test for our App-> https://steemit.com/bitshares/@bitspark/sendy-closed-beta-available-now
Bitshares is superior to Bitcoin for payments due to what is needed in cracking the remittance industry with blockchain. Besides having an expansive cash-in, cash-out network, predictability of fees, fast transfer speeds and access to liquid exotic currencies outside of major FX pairs is not something that Bitcoin can provide.

startups and organizations began researching, developing and implementing its use case  (some in practice and others in testing) with particular focus on cryptocurrencies as a means to transfer transactions internationally for a fraction of existing prices.

Spark recently completed the RemTech International Money Conference hosted in Malaysia. Largest update from event is 3 money transfer operators have signed on to pilot Spark's cash in, cash out crypto remittance platform. The pilot will consist of 100k daily txn per provider with eventual ramping up. More updates on @BitsparkLtd on twitter and $ZEPH telegram https://t.co/NJHzXktXYu
So what’s the alternative to Bitcoin for businesses? Well, the answer lies in the reason a business needs a blockchain. Since Bitcoin’s inception, it has paved the way for a new industry of blockchains with 1,000+ cryptocurrencies built on top of them all with unique use cases ranging from privacy, governance, finance and data transaction.
