very cool ..

are are going to setup your own network for the tutorial, use the testnet or the main network?

Any thing I can help you guys with?

We were thinking the main network, but I guess for asset creation testnet is the only solution because of the cost. We're still planning the workshop so we're not quite sure what we need yet. If you want to help out with the planning we're doing a skype session with svk on sat/sun.

@svk could explain how you can create your own business front end for your tokens.

That's a great idea. :)

BitSpace is holding a presentation and co-hosting a workshop (with svk!) on Oslo Blockchain Day.

If any of you have some slides of a recent presentation, some videos that we can show in the workshop, or some ideas for what to talk about in the presentation or what to show in the workshop, or even some ideas for how to approach the various actors that are present, it's all welcome.

A little bit about the the presentation and workshop:

The presentation will be about "BitShares 2.0 and smartcoins" among other things explaining how the DEX works and how it can function as a gateway. There might also be a panel discussion about permissioned and permissionless blockchains and their relative merits. There will be a lot of banks at this event trying to figure out how to exploit the blockchain-buzz to make their systems more efficient.

The workshop will feature 3 tutorials: "bitcoin getting started," "exchanging cryptocurrencies" and "creating your own asset." The first session will get people involved in crypto, downloading a wallet, securing it, sending some funds. The second session will go into coinmarketcap ("investing") and how to exchange the various coins with each other. The last session will feature BitShares as a more advanced piece of blockchain tech that can you can do neat stuff with, like of creating your own asset.

Clains and his brother Manuel and I are all going. Clains and his brother are in charge of the workshop track, I'm a last minute addition and will be part of the workshops so there will be plenty of Bitshares shown there. Manuel has a presentation as well: "Bitshares 2.0 and smartcoins by Manuel Lains, BitSpace"

Yup. :D We were contacted by the organizer who's involved with Ethereum and we got along great. There was nothing but curiosity and enthusiasm around BitShares' ideas/technology and what we're trying to do.

Manuel Lains (spectral) is holding the presentation, and we're doing a day-long workshop at the event co-hosted by BitSpace.

BitSpace is the company my brother and I founded recently, which is currently engaged in knowledge&consulting services. So we're doing this workshop now, in addition to the presentation, and we're also hosting a "Bitcoin course" for newbies in Oslo the 23th.

The workshop at Oslo Blockchain Day will feature 3 tutorials: "bitcoin getting started," "exchanging cryptocurrencies" and "creating your own asset." The last session will feature BitShares as the means of creating your own asset.

We also found out just a few days ago that svk was available to join us at this event! He will be an essential part of the workshop, helping us present BitShares in the best possible light. We just talked to him for the first time yesterday, and are super-excited about that :)

If you guys have some ideas for the workshop or the presentation, "BitShares 2.0 and smartcoins," please let us know. In fact, i'll open a new thread now if people want to contribute ideas.

How about using 5% of the total funds to set orders at 0.001, 0.002, 0.003, 0.004, 0.005, 0.006 and so on to find the correct price? Just a suggestion. I trust you don't sell it out too cheap.

The stage is set... :D

Does this have anything to do with bitshares? I guess no....except the exchange maybe

Ronny is CEO, so even if they haven't integrated with BitShares yet, they will probably consider it at some point. :)

General Discussion / Re: STEALTH Status Update
« on: April 04, 2016, 06:55:57 pm »
Perhaps @onceuponatime will consider immediately selling some of the stealth asset in order to not only recoup a chunk of his investment, but also to raise some funds to speed up implementation of stealth transfers / private balances.  This is a critical feature.  The sooner it gets implemented, the faster the Bitshares adoption rate will increase, and the sooner @onceuponatime will be in the black on his investment.

Yes, let's do the stealth token sale. If I was onceuponatime i'd give 5% to someone for organizing and outlining properly what needs to be done, including a crowd-sale and an independent stealth wallet with unique branding and marketing. This project needs more than some devs and an investor, it needs a savvy entrepreneur who can take it to the next level. Now that you have the basic tech in place and a token to represent the value of the project, there's nothing stopping you from making this project as big as you want. /2 cents

General Discussion / Re: New structure for some forum sections
« on: March 31, 2016, 07:06:18 pm »
Excellent proposal. My "favorite" fallacy is to keep acting on a premise after that premise is no longer correct. The premise for this forum was the stage of BitShares being an idea and a project in development, but now the project is ready for actual use the forum should evolve to reflect that.
