General Discussion / Re: Is the marketing execution in English happening?
« on: October 09, 2014, 04:19:12 am »
From previous activity I would believe Adam may be correct but now they do appear to have a concise plan. Its not exactly shared with us, more of a "trust me its good" approach. Generally when a coin pulls this attitude with software I sell hard.

I like transparency as do we all. When things aren't clear it is usually a negative indicator. The marketing plan I have in my head pieced together from scraps of data does sound truly spectacular. Maybe its our christmas present?

I have a 3k USD bounty for PTS/BTSX information relating to their wallets. I want to know how much money they have that does not belong to them. A number of bloggers and some larger media outlets want to run the story we just need to supply details. If they decide to add BTSX before crediting the PTS holders correct funds it goes to 5K. There is no excuse with blochchain technology. The cheeky bastards sent me an email and said we will give you some cryptsy points "to ease the loss", your customer service champion -Jshock. What he does not understand is that it is not the money, its the principle.

BitShares PTS / Re: PTS Snapshot problem with Cryptsy
« on: October 02, 2014, 11:00:21 am »
i am definitely interested as well.
unfortunately i am a tec newbie so i might not be able to give you any further information but i will add some bounty value.
my btsx worth should be 5000 USD + so will will spend at least some BTC.

maybe you should start a post on reddit first, so everyone gets knowledge ?

All you will need to do is collect your cryptsy PTS deposit address and relating information. I think the bounty will start around $3k and may climb above 5. Great idea to start a reddit thread! Where is the best place to post it?

There are heaps of guys that can trace the blockchain so once they see a fat bounty many Sherlock Holmes will emerge. I was thinking of making it kind of fun and everyone that contributes will earn a % of bounty. Sort of like a community investigation.

Once the reddit goes up ill also contact bitcoin bounty hunter and get a nice front cover.

Sounds like a snowball's building

General Discussion / Re: short order didn't match now
« on: September 29, 2014, 06:09:12 pm »
I shouldn't complain since I had some short orders and BTSX price fell more so these should have been actioned at lower prices but...

It would be nice if I can manage to finally short some bitusd. What am I doing wrong?

Top bid price I see is 350 @ 31.01
Top ask I see is 500 @ 31.99
price feed is @ 32.7370

Are the above correct? What price should I put in order to short bitusd? I would think that 31.01 would be ok and my order will get instantly actioned.

I am on v.0.4.18 RC1 which I downloaded from DACsunlimited webiste..

On 0.4.18 and cannot short the BitUSD or GLD

Driving me crazy watching those orders sit still. I spammed that 31.01 trying to get it but no avail. Tried shorting those high BitGLD buy orders at 44,000 too.

Hahaha... glad to see im not the only shark!

General Discussion / So whats going on with marketing?
« on: September 29, 2014, 03:11:59 pm »
I would like to know details about the Bitshares marketing plan. As an investor I have access to everything but future marketing plans. Right now as far as I know it is a one man job?

Twitter, reddit, crypto news outlets and traditional sources have very little to no content passing through. The majority seems to be community driven and many articles are destructive to the BTSX.

Bytemaster did ask for the campaign to halt until the code was stable and bugs ironed out. Fair enough. Now we are in safer waters and it is time to start the media. My impression is that our marketing is top secret and we have a game changing campaign ready to roll out on bytemasters word?

There are direct smear campaigns aimed at BTSX while misinformation is at an all time high. You will not achieve adoption and rope investors with this circling unchallenged.

With vegas around the corner and charting technicals moving towards critical indicators this is certainly an interesting moment for BTSX.

General Discussion / Re: Back the BTSX with physical gold
« on: September 28, 2014, 12:38:28 pm »
The way that I see the crypto economy is that every liquid asset is backed by a number of things. Encryption, scarcity, electricity, people, networks and utility.

Gold certainly is secured. It is secured by nations, banks, governments, people and the vast utility. It has been the standard for centuries and we are not about to abandon it. Gold is well known to traditional investors and holds stability and trust.

It's weird how some people think gold is the unique source of value.

Maybe Apple should back it's share with some gold ? Maybe you should put some gold in your basement to be sure your house has value ? Maybe you should mix some gold in your food to be sure that the food you eat is valuable ?

Value comes from the human mind, if some folks deemed a good valuable, then it's valuable, period. If you love gold, go buy some, but please stop thinking it's the only source of value, it's an economic nonsense.

Besides that, it's against the whole point of cryptos. We are here because Satoshi invented a decentralized way to exchange and store value, it's a reactonary idea to add centralization to the system.

Have you heard about e-gold ? It's so 2003, but you can still try it. Oh wait... actually you cannot, because it's was not viable.

It certainly is weird that people think gold is a unique source of value. Even weirder are those who think its the "only" source of value. I do love gold and yes, I have some but I think it would be silly for apple to back its shares with gold as they are already secured by the products and fat dividend they pay. Plus we people love their products so I guess its in demand.

I really got alot out of that. I hope that it is clear I believe gold is the only thing of value. Tomorrow I should buy some more for my conflakes.

Tell me more about that decentralised way to exchange and store value. Sorry but bitcoin isn't the answer!

No, its not reactionary, its investor logic to want security.

Centralisation is not to be feared. In some instances it is the only way to do business. A bank of Switzerland owned by Invictus that acts as the central vault to secure bullion is out of the possibilities? If proper legal course is taken, how does one simply "shut down" a bank? I can safely say that the first decentralised crypto to secure the network with XAU (or organic tomatoes) in a legitimate nature will certainly see big money.

The future looks bright for bitshares but Im certain this is a great idea. Highly doubt it will ever go anywhere within invictus as we seem to jump at the word "centralised". A silly coin did try the XAU thing though. Was more of a backyard job than a serious venture. You need a bank for legal security, protection and trust. "Here john, can you store these ingots in the basement?"

I certainly agree that BTSX does have backing. But... am I guaranteed security with my bitshares? No. I cannot buy $1 of them and be guaranteed I will be able to exit at $1. I'll probably exit with $6 but I dont want that. I want my $1.

Before you tell me to buy BitUSD and earn interest, yield, dividend or whatever it is today, can you assure investors that $100,000 BitUSD will be 100k equivalent or more due to interest? No. If shit hits the fan you are stuck with 100k digital units worth X. If it was gold backed then yes, I can comfortably exit at any time.

Look at mastercoin/maidsafe. What are you going to do with your $100k mastercoin IPO? Write it off on tax? I expect that the IRS will want to know all about your little crypto eggs. You might however be the first early adopter to come out of the closet. Kudos.

The federal reserve failed, nearly every economy has. But I know Invictus is smarter and can adapt rapidly to any situation.

General Discussion / Back the BTSX with physical gold
« on: September 28, 2014, 05:24:20 am »
Looks like everything is coming together perfectly but 1 common thought is that our BTSX are not backed by anything (not entirely true).

What if it was possible to set up a centralised bank and create a process, maybe a DAC or asset that by each purchase of a unit results in the equal purchase in physical gold held in vault to back the asset. That would not simply work as when the BTSX increase in value the cheaper BTSX would not be matched by XAU. There are many possibilities to do this creating a scalable and sustainable economy. I think this is a good idea. Am I crazy ?

Having the security of physical backing would give big money the confidence in our system. You know that your 1 BTSX is safely redeemable for 1g XAU.

As the market cap of BTSX increases, how would gold reserves match the peg? Perhaps delegate burn be better directed to increasing XAU reserves.

When bitshares themselves are collateralised then the whole economy becomes collateralised. If I knew my crypto was secure like this I would move all funds save my HSBC hot wallet.

A decentralised bank with central stability.

You can have the best product or technology in the world but without the correct marketing, never get anywhere. Media is crucial. We already have the worlds best technology (so biased but true) and are yet to engage media campaigns.

I disagree. Bitcoin had 0 marketing. Game changers can grow without marketing.

Bitcoin had enormous organic marketing from cypherpunks, hackers and crypto anarchists. Everyone talking and sharing this wonderful new idea. The silkroad was the catalyst for media coverage, the headlines were global. Wild volatility, digital gold, dark markets, hacking and assassination plots. Better than a bond movie. Headlines have matured into news about Paypal, Overstock, Ebay, RBA, PBOC, etc.

Bitshares is a game changer but we cant expect the worlds media to carry us to the spotlight

Sounds good and the what if can be exciting to play. Anybody is free to fork our network at any time. They can't fork Bytemaster and our super duper dev team, the community, industry partners and surrounding infrastructure. Our community and dev team is irreplaceable.
