Point noted about extreme political views... Unlike debates with left vs right, communism vs democracy, gay rights, etc all of these views require everyone to adopt their system and threaten to hurt those who do not get with the program. I merely promote views that don't threaten to hurt anyone. Though, I suppose most other views by their very nature would threaten to hurt me for not getting with their program. Look what happened to Jesus for simply telling people to love their enemies, turn the other cheek, give to the poor, go two miles if you are compelled to go one.

None of the above. After seeing the complete ignorance of the vast majority of society on every other area of inquiry (Money, Economics, Government, Electricity, Health, etc) combined with the complete corruption of any kind of commitment to the truth by every political entity since Genesis was first penned I have no trust in any other individual to accurately convey a message over 2000 microseconds let alone 2000 years, through multiple cultures and languages. Always and everywhere the history books are written by the victors to serve as propaganda for their rule. Lies and myths are accepted as truth today despite clear evidence to the contrary from first hand experience. People DIE for these lies thinking they are fighting for freedom.
Does God exist or do we live in the matrix? I believe the answer can only be found within. All of history is a myth and the future a dream. Only now, in this moment, do they exist and are available to guide our next action.
I think the negative feedback stems from the fact that investors' money is currently in "limbo" without being forewarned of this fact (at least I didn't get the memo that there would be no wallet "for awhile").
So our current holdings of PTS are not worth anything in its former version "PTS" but there is no wallet ready to enable those funds to be transferred to the new version of BTS XT, which means we just have to sit on our hands and wait until (hopefully) a third party comes along and produces a wallet?
I guess I was under the impression that after the snapshot date, our funds would be credited to a new crypto currency that we could then trade/liquidate on the exchanges just like before. Instead, it seems like our funds are trapped and awaiting a "third party". What did I miss in the initial explanation or am I misunderstanding something?
If I did miss something, you have to understand for newbies, we might not have read through the thousands of forum pages to figure out WTF is going on. I think there needs to be more clarity from ProtoShares communication desks so instead of a lengthy forum page that we have to weed through to find the facts, some simple and clear explanations on their home page or some centralized communication source would be helpful.
So, now that I have PTS sitting in my wallet, what exactly do I have? A claim for some new and improved BitShares that currently have no wallet, no exchangeable value, and no actual DAC or any functional benefit whatsoever but a long list of promises? I am fine with speculating on the future potential of ProtoShares, every crypto I own is a speculation on the future, but I don't remember reading about how my funds would just sit there indefinitely for a month or more until some unknown third parties come up with something valuable to offer to the marketplace.
At least with Dogecoin I can sell it tomorrow if I decide the speculation is not worth the risk. Seems this option is unavailable with PTS/BTS. If this potential lack of liquidity was explained before the snapshot, where was this info posted?
The snapshot was taken in 28 that all, there is no wallet and they never promise one on 28. They always stated that the Bts-x chain will be release at the earliest on 15 of March please read the February newsletter https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?action=post;topic=3291.15;last_msg=41778
Buying PTS or AGS you invested on a idea so you are a earlier investor and yes for now you can not trade the BTS-X for now If you wanted to make a quick buck well you'll have to be patient.
You right about finding information on the website and forum, it's not easy, but that about to change there will be a new website on March 24 and will have everything in one place. 3I it is a 3 month old company, and they are trying hard to do as much as they can, finding developers,marketing campaign, making investors happy, developing keyhotee & BTS-X, etc. Yes not everything it's perfect and there is a lot to be done, but they need our support and our trust especially if you believe the vision behind Invictus. If not you can go with Dogecoin vision.
The PTS yes they lost a lot of value but this is was to be expected, and that should not come as a surprise for anybody. PTS will rise sooner or later. And not sure if you understand that part but now if you want, you can sell you PTS no problem it will not affect your BTS-X holding.

Today we had an excellent training session on how to increase our productivity. It will be paying dividends in the weeks ahead.
I also solved a major issue in the design of BitShares X as it relates to how we handle the case where the collateral is insufficient to back the short position and thus the result is unbacked BitUSD in circulation. Considering the value of BitShares X is directly related to the degree to which the holders of BitShares X are willing to guarantee the purchasing power of BitUSD it seems that a decentralized Bank should take the same approach as their centralized counterparts... Sell new shares in the bank to raise capital to cover the losses. In effect all BTS holders would provide 'insurance' against the 50% discontinuity event that would blow out a short position. The reason why BTS longs would insure the BTS shorts is because they entire value proposition of BitShares X is derived from the promise of BitUSD remaining pegged. If the BTS holders can increase the value of BTS by providing this insurance against a very rare event, it should in turn increase confidence and thus increase the value of BTS.
This change would shift the losses that BitUSD holders would currently pay to the BTS holders and thus collectively BTS holders are backing all BitUSD and BitUSD holders have something with much lower risks.
No actions to take on your part aside from making sure your PTS is in your local wallet (not on an exchange) prior to Feb 28th. Once the snapshot is taken we will begin preparing for release. After we have released the code you will be able to import your wallet at any time and you will be good to go.

Thanks bytemaster, but I'm still confused. You say that "we have decided to recommend that all future chains based upon the concept behind BitShares X be initialized with a snapshot (100%) of the state of BitShares XT around the time of their launch". It seems to me that there are two snapshots, one of AngelShares/ProtoShares around Feb. 28 in order to claim BitShares XT, then another of BitShares XT around launch time in order to claim my stake in future chains based on the concept behind BitShares X. Is this the case, or is there only one snapshot, that of AngelShares/ProtoShares on Feb. 28, which the distribution of both BitShares XT and all future chains based on the concept behind BitShares X will be based?
If the latter is true, than I understand that there are no extra steps. If the former is true, then does this not mean that I have to ensure that I have downloaded the bitshares client and claimed my bitshares (from AngelShares) before this snapshot of BitShares XT is taken in order to claim my stake in future chains based on the concept behind BitShares X?
There will be two snapshots.
The first one will copy all AGS/PTS addresses with a positive balance at that time and assign them their BTS balances. This copy will be in the first block (genesis block) of the BTS chain.
The second snapshot will then copy all BTS addresses with a positive balance at a later time to incorporate them in the genesis block of the new chain.
--> If you never touch your BTS before the second snapshot they will still be sitting in the genesis block of the first BTS chain. This balance will of course be copied in the second snapshot.

March 21 will be the launch of our brand new website, bitshares.org. New site? Didn't we just get a new site you may be asking? Well, yes and no. Invictus.io was created to be a temporary step in the right direction from our original site at invictus-innovations.com. And it's serving it's purpose for now. But our plan was to eventually build a permanent top-shelf site for the bitshares concept and brand. And that new site is in now in development: bishares.org.

The family of chains that support cross-chain-trading are simply BitShares.
