I think there is already something in the pipeline. did a quick search and found this: "BitShares LKS is our brand for LuckyShares – robotically honest gaming." from the thread https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=2166.0

I would also be interested in hearing more about gambling related DACs.

thanks for posting the newsletter!

there's a typo in the first sentence of the third paragraph, located in the section that Dan authored, i: "I have spent much of the past two months railing against mining as waisting resources and ultimately resulting in centralization."

just in case someone wants to fix it :)

Excellent, thanks for the help guys. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to leave the Keyhotee client running in the background, help everyone find bugs :)

I'm interested in both PTS and AGS, and would like to invest in both.  I'll check out cryptsy for the PTS.  For AGS do I just send BTC to the investment address and it will automatically be allocated to the bitcoin wallet at the end of the day?  OK to do this with a blockchain wallet? I don't run the full bitcoin-qt client....

https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

Can someone confirm that the lightweight MultiBit wallet is donation safe for those not running full nodes?  I've never tried it, but my understanding is that it harvests connects to full nodes for chain info, but retains full control of its own keys.  Does it use the same wallet file format future products will be configured to read?

I am not entirely sure about the back-end of things, but there is an "Export Private Keys" option under the Tools menu in the MultiBit client. It exports the key from AppData\Roaming\MultiBit\multibit.wallet which I'm guessing hoping means that private keys are stored locally, just like a normal wallet.dat

I'm a fan of the latest invictus.io update as well! Here's some off the cuff feedback:
  • I like the sunrise image on the home page, the dawn-of-a-new-day message is pretty easy to pick up on.
  • The banner image on the Keyhotee page seems a bit fuzzy, maybe the resolution is a bit low?
  • I am not 100% sold on the Keyhotee logo, simply because it does not look modern when juxtaposed with the BitShares logos (which happen to look fantastic)!

Despite my (very) minor gripes, I gotta say the page is looking much better. You guys are gonna kill it in Miami!

General Discussion / Yet another twitter page!
« on: January 05, 2014, 01:04:45 am »
It seems that most of the social media pages have fallen by the wayside, so I decided to create my own! You can find the page here: https://twitter.com/InvictusCrypto

If all goes well I may consider adopting and maintaining other III brands like Protoshares and Bitshares, and perhaps managing a facebook page as well. But for the time being, my priorities involve growing the follower base and tweeting daily.

I am hoping to use this thread for suggestions and feedback. Any comments would be greatly appreciated, hope you guys like it!

Scott

I really like Cass's logo design.

Invictus.io is looking great, my only gripe is that the first image under "What is a DAC?" does not really seem to fit the site, at least to me.

Keyhotee / Re: Keyhotee Status Update
« on: December 26, 2013, 04:11:13 am »
I thought the bidding closed at New Year's Eve.  Guess I should have read more carefully?  There goes my founder ID.  Oh well, I'll just have to mine one at launch.  It's not going to be as hard to mine IDs as it was to get the 10 PTS, will it?

No, it should not be nearly as hard! Obtaining a Keyhotee ID will be as simple as downloading the client and letting it run for a little while, if I understand correctly. That said, IDs created in this manner will NOT be a founder ID. However, the only difference between a regular Keyhotee ID and a Founder ID is that with a Founder ID, your name will be etched into the genesis block of Keyhotee. I think I remember someone likening it to getting your name carved in stone in front of a monumental building.

When investing in the mind blowingly fast growing cryptospace we tend to get spoiled by our returns.
If we were investing in unit trusts we would celebrate a 20% annual growth but in cryptospace we get unhappy if we dont double our money in a month. I am guilty of this impatience at times too.

PTS is very new and Keyhotee and BitShares will have to go through various developmental and adoption stages.

Prototypes will have to be launched and iterated on.
The final product will be popular among the tech savvy people.
Once more people find out and it becomes more user friendly, we will have early adoption.
The problem with revolutionary ideas such as Bitcoin, Keyhotee and BitShares is that they require knowledge and understanding for mass adoption.

Currently there is no real market for BitShares, bankers dont know that they are paying high fees to middle-men. Traders dont wake up thinking "I wish I didnt have to trade using the centralized, trusted, corruptible third parties. When will someone create an unmanned, decentralized, un-corruptible company for me to trade in."

This market needs to be created through understanding. But when understanding comes, the masses will come flooding in. And we will be there waiting patiently to sell them our BitShares at mindblowingly high prices, and then we will be spoilt rotten by the returns.

A very good post.

I think we're all pretty excited about the things to come, and naturally we clamor for more information. While the lack of information can be a bit disconcerting, I'd like to imagine that mktdirector is taking his time in order to create a cohesive marketing plan.

In the meantime, I am really enjoying watching Invictus grow, and if nothing else, this entire experience has been a great entrepreneurial ride along. We are still on the ground floor and it is a fascinating (and rare!) opportunity to witness a skyscraper being built.

This is a fantastic way to help increase the value of your ProtoShares, and future holdings from III, as I'm sure you're already aware. It's great that you're taking a proactive approach! I have some experience in social media, so here are some suggestions you may find help your efforts:

- Avoid massive info dumps! I recognize that the page is new, but anyone who had liked the page on or before 12/11/13 (assuming this wasn't the creation date) had their news feed bombarded. You may want to reduce the post count, down to 1 to 3 posts per day, if your goal is to get people to click on links and not merely glaze over them.

- Post every day, or every other day.

- Don't be afraid to post things that are not directly related to Invictus. For example, there was a Bitcoin conference in Vegas this week. Linking a news article related to the event, or better yet - sharing a post made by the convention fb page, is a great way to keep your content fresh and varied.

- Remember, this is SOCIAL media, not a link repository. No one has commented on anything, YET, but when they do it is essential to keep your responses, light, informative, and engaging! Also, it is EXTREMELY important to background check social media profiles of the people you engage. Imagine - you decide not to check, just once, and it turns out you've been chatting it up with a Nazi sympathizer, whose profile is littered with slurs and rallying cries for genocide. Not exactly that type of crowd any reputable organization wants to identify with!

- For now, you may want to consider only having one ProtoShares logo on the page, in order to increase clarity.

- ProtoShares facebook and twitter pages already exist. You may want to consider collaborating with the owners of these accounts, as to avoid any significant redundancies in content (it's okay to have the same content sometimes, as long as it's relatively infrequent).

I hope you find these suggestions helpful! If you have any questions or comments please let me know, I'm happy to help.

BitShares PTS / Re: [VOTING] NEW Protoshare Logo (YES/NO)
« on: December 11, 2013, 07:12:50 pm »
I like both.

That said, I think the flat look of the original will serve better for marketing. Flat is in, especially in the tech industry. Just look at the latest OS offerings from Apple and Microsoft. Because of this, the one dimensional look of the 'older' logo may help to confirm the credibility of the ProtoShares brand. The flat logo looks modern, it looks new, and above all, it looks similar to icons of tech products we like and are familiar with. I understand that Invictus/ProtoShares isn't meant to be just-another-tech-giant by design, however it is important to remember that ideas being presented are very new, and therefore unfamiliar to most. It takes a bit of time to wrap your head around it all! It may prove useful to ease newcomers into the world of DACs with a readily identifiable logo that evokes the feel of other technologies people know and love. I think the original flat logo achieves this goal. No need to change it.
