General Discussion / Re: Throttle delegate approval?
« on: November 12, 2014, 04:31:16 pm »
The primary role of the delegate is to produce blocks containing valid transactions.  Any delegate failing to do so will be voted out.  I see little harm in allowing the network to operate as designed and continue to enable the shareholders to vote for delegates as rapidly as they see fit.

General Discussion / Re: Can We Change the Unit of Account to BitUSD
« on: November 04, 2014, 02:36:08 am »
The idea of using a 'stable' BitAsset as the unit of account does have merit.

Let's consider a possible implementation:  The Delegate Pay Rate is published as quantity X bitUSD (or any BitAsset, why limit it?).  Each time the Delegate produces a block, the network protocol purchases the requisite bitUSD as the DAC from the BitAsset market using up to 50 BTS (current proposed Maximum Dilution Rate) as the amount it may spend, then transfers those bitUSD to the Delegate as payment for supporting the DAC.  If the protocol must short to create the bitUSD, it must have the collateral to do so.  This may limit the maximum amount of bitUSD the Delegate will receive, or force the DAC to dilute beyond the Maximum Dilution Rate to issue the proper amount of bitUSD.

Is my logic and/or understanding of the mechanics flawed?

BM said that he would vote down these delegates who don't provide feeds, however, not yet done that.

Currently there are 11 "init" delegates that are not producing blocks.  This is a reversal from when BitAssets was launched with bitUSD a number of weeks back.  It is my understanding these delegates are controlled by or closely aligned with the core development team.  Please help me understand why these delegates are choosing to no longer provide price feeds.

Do I have to pay the .5 fee if I send BTSX to myself?

Yes, but you can lower it to .1 in the settings  :) don't try to make fee less then 0.1 transactions will not be accepted by network

How is the fee reduction accomplished from the CLI?

Roadkill is an individual I support based on conversations had outside this forum. Roadkill is contributing to this community in meaningful ways and will benefit the delegate ranks as a code reviewer, active community participant and ultimately feel will make development contributions based on his qualifications and drive.

Edit:fix typo

Consideration for your voting: The Kehotee Founders are found in the genisis block of each BitShares DAC and denote stakeholders committed to the community and its success.

General Discussion / Re: Should we continue to funding mining of PTS?
« on: October 17, 2014, 09:21:47 pm »
My investment in PTS was made with the understanding that it would remain liquid, allowing me to transfer the value to another party when I choose to exit the position. Doing anything to change that fact represents breach of social contract.

Given a Final PTS Snapshot making it illiquid:
Thinking ahead to end of life asset transfer, I struggle to understand how my PTS position could be divided to my wishes when the final snapshot key(s) would dictate the divisibility of the position. Worst case, a single key would represent my entire position making it impossible to divide.

Respectfully,

Just completed successful configuration of KeyID v0.0.2 on a new node.

Please vote for fox-init (1%)
Code: [Select]
wallet_approve fox-init
Please note: the KeyID node is separate from my active BitsharesX node.

I will next configure an additional KeyID node to act as a seed on the network.

Great work Toast and team!

Congratulations go out to the development team on their successful implementation of the market peg.

I very much look forward to the multi-sig feature enhancement and additional marketing.

@xeroc:
It took me some trial and error before I could work out the proper syntax.  Here is my latest update:
Code: [Select]
wallet_publish_feeds fox [["USD",0.0341],["CNY",0.2040]]

Very impressed with the BitsharesX Delegates Report for August 2014.  A wealth of data to support your decision making process.

Nice work!   +5%
